Actually, that comment about the Guard and Katrina was true. The war has spread them so thin that there weren't enough to respond.

Regardless of whose fault it was, having those Guard troops to be able to send to Lousiana would have greatly helped.

My Brother-in-Law is a CPO in the USCG and was sent to NOLA after Katrina.

The cluster fuck was a result of the incompetency of Mayor Nagin, who didn't follow the evacuation plan, and Governor Blanco, who ignored President Bush's strong suggestion to order a mandatory evacuation well before Katrina hit land.

Facts are, the response and evac by the Feds was one of the best in history, but the lying MSM will never say anything positive about a GOP administration.

However, I didn't mean to come across as a die hard Obama supporter because I'm really not. He has plenty of views I don't share, and I only view him as the lesser of two evils. I'll defend a politician or one of the party on one position but criticize them on another. I actually liked John McCain quite a bit, and while I'm really not a fan of Palin, she does have a few views I share.

@phpeters87 I could forgive Palin for her comments, slip ups and bad interviews, the same way I can forgive Obama for his. Polticians are only human. They are going to slip up and forget things when put on the spot. As for why the media was more forgiving of Obama and Biden than Palin, maybe its because they actually made an effort to fix those mistakes. They kept doing interviews to recover from the bad ones. Palin did not. She did a grand total of about five one on one interviews.
