it (the love between maria and roberto) is so realistic because ingrid (and i cant say i blame her) was in love with gary cooper. read her auto bio "my story" into her personal thoughts and feelings

Disappointing for anyone who has read the book, which is a much more realistic and moving scene. Oh well it was Hollywood and a family film I guess. Is there a more modern version?
