  • You mean you haven't heard of the "off-beat technique"? It's what catholics call the rhythm method and it fails evry time!

Shortly to post another using the no beat at all method

  • I loved all your old painting box songs. No more hissy fits!! You should put it all together as a book of poetry (which perhaps you have?). The effects you used in the video were just perfect.

When is Painting Box 2 coming out? Right after the all-new Pope Series? :P

  • I do still have the original text from 1987 (am I really that old?) and you have go me thinking maybe I could do a mix of readingsand singings and try to present the whole thing - which I have never done. When it was staged it was an abridged version as we didn't have time to rehearse it all cos God booked Easter early that year.

Pope was of its time and I suspect that time has passed. I have some other things planned which may be fun.

Time you did an "I don't do vlogs vlog" I think!

  • Readings would be fantastic. No matter what you do next, i know I'll be interested.

Oh, and I charged up the camera yesterday for an "I don't vlog" that I feel coming on.

  • All that animation must have taken a lot of time, and I can see how you don't want to waste such fine work... For some reason your music still often makes me think of Syd Barrett...

  • A few hours went into it for sure.

Better than reminding you of Sid Vicious anyway!

  • Those skeletons maybe should take a break with the jogging. I think they've lost enough weight for the time being:)

Well done Brian! Personally I'm still a little intimidated by doing animations. I really do need to delve into it a bit though because I occasionally let a good idea go by the boards for lack of skills.

  • Stellar Brian!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Thanks - that must make you a star!

  • Reminded me of gypsy skirts....don't ask~

Interesting lyrics and powerful imagery, all in all a 10 out of 5;-)

    xo

  • I think I had best not ask.

10 out 5 - wish I could do that with bank notes! x

  • thanks Billy - it was a long time in the making

  • Just the title alone sobered me up. Impressive editing. I forgot which editing program you are using. Really well done. Cheers!

  • thanks Pip - good old Movie Maker was responsible for this one

  • @MrRandomWritings Really? Wow, it's come a long way since I used to have it! lol

  • Well done im glad this didn't dissapper in to the ether.

  • a lot did I can tell you

  • Colors leap out at you here like cats from beneath the hedgerow--dazzling and with surprising impact. But enough about the brilliant video, I want to hear more about the hissy fit.

  • hahaha! You never have to scratch around for a good comment!

I did mention it in a vlog somwhere but it wasn't that interesting

  • Very cool! Wow...Lots of work in this one! Glad you didn't just toss it! Interesting visually and another of your deep thought lyrics with interesting "lava lamp" type music...and mostly in tune too...ha!

I want to learn how to animate. Hopefully, one day...:-) Or maybe not...just leave it to those like you that know how...:-) xx

  • Thanks Caylyn - yes it would have been a waste. Over 20 years since I wrote that one!

"Lava lamp music" - good one LOL!

It's easy, you just pucker up and bl... oh no that's something else... xx

  • Is this one of them cyclepedalic videos?

  • Well there are 2 eyes in it somewhere so it's not cyclopedic

  • Glad you chose to finish rather than scrap.

Wow. Which software programs did you use for the animation?

  • Indeed - well thought out!

  • Whew! I'm sure glad you didn't let this go to waste. Powerful song and imagery.

  • Cheers Marc - yes it was a few hours of playing with plastic toys and special effects - never waste qulaity playtime I reckon

  • I thought you left the plastic toys for... oh, never mind... :)

  • I in Aw not sure what to say about this one except excellent in every way .I does make a person think!

  • Glad you got a thunk out of it!

  • Really hard on this pea brain too! ;)

  • you have quite a few of these numbers up your sleeve- keep 'em coming dear. The streets of our town never looked so good!

    x

  • It's too cold to unbutton my cuffs though. As you know all that street footage was taken of the locals returning from teh pub xx

  • Great animation Brian.

That all sounded a little psychedelic to me. Nice :)

  • Thanks Andy, keep taking the pills!

  • Eye candy sweet and sour... Sortta like Jolly Ranchers for the mind Buddy...

  • um... yes... probably!

  • So, not the sort of thing you'd expect to hear on Sesame Street, then..?

  • Now now, don't be a muppet!

  • Pretty awesome stuff Brian, great tune and cool animation:)

  • Thanks - I had a version of this up about 3 years ago but it didn't work very well then without the images
