  • I feel offended.

  • That sound like shit... Totally.

  • another reason Zildjian sells the most cymbals, sorry man not my taste.

  • They got it 100% right. That's why nobody can improve on the RUDE line.

  • I have this exact cymbal but I cracked it back in 2001 and replaced it with an 18" version that's lasted me since then. I regret playing with Vater Nightsticks because they wrecked cymbals. A rare find. If you have a 2002 Rude with no cracks cherish them. They were the best in my opinion. I'd love to find some 2002 RUDE 15" Soundedge hihats.

  • this is a series cymbal you really have to get used to. cuz first time i got my first rude i thought..., wow little too loud and ringy. but its the best when you give it a chance:]

  • You can't hear the gongy overtones when you're in the audience, and especially when there's a band playing ontop.

  • i completely agree..

i play on my church's worship team and it sounds just AMAZING. ide rather just leave it there and come back to it instead of bringing it into my small walkspace of what you would call a room. its just too overpowering a a small space... but thats just me

  • Would it be a good price if I bought the same one of this for $100 us dollars and it's in perfect conditon? please reply!

  • yes!

  • ofcourse!!!!! buy it!!

  • Comment removed

  • that is a boss deal

  • @tonyalstn yes, its a really good price. I bought mine brand new and it cost 250 euros, wich is almost the same in dollars.

  • I want one so bad but they're too expensive!

  • Look on Ebay, you can usually find one for a decent price.

  • i never heard the ride part of the RUDE ride/crash, and i never thought it would be this nice and clean

  • you guys want to see awsome, get a thin rude wild crash!

  • I had one of these but I used huge drumsticks and poor technique and cracked it back when I was 17. =[

  • Too clangy

  • I have been playing the same Paiste cymbals (2002) for years, and I have yet to have one crack on me. How many people can say that they still have Zildjians from the 60's?

  • I've never cracked a cymbal. you can hit them as hard as you like. its all about technique

  • Exactly. However, due to manufacterer' s error, I have had many Zildjian's crack on me which is one of the reasons why I switched to Paiste. They don't have the quality control that Paiste has. I also fell in love with the brightness of their cymbals, as well as the look of them. I really love the 2002's. The 13'' sound edge 2002's really cut thru! My first experience with Paiste cymbals was through Carl Palmer, back in 1971. Wow!

  • Yeah I use a mixture of Zildjian and Paiste but have recently been swayed towards Paiste...

  • I have a set of Istanbul's from the 70s and a Ziljian set from the 60s that i pound the living shit out of and there fine..

  • Well, then, you are one of the fortunate ones.

  • ive got a question: how long do the rudes especially the crashes last until they are cracked. now ive got the anatolian ultimate series and they do not live long ;) .. i think its destroyed every half year. (i play in a thrash metal band and so i hit em very hard)

it would be nice if someone could give me an answer thanks

  • hey man, ive got a white coated paiste rude 17 crash/ride. ive been thrashing it for literally a year now (since before last christmas) and its not even close to cracking. they are really solid cymbals man!

  • The thing to not crash cymbals is hitting them on the upper part, not on the edge, with them standing flat on the cymbal stand.

  • My old original RUDE 14" crash/ride lasted 14 yrs before cracking, 14" hi hats lasted 16 yr, 1000 series RUDE 16" crash 12 yr, 1000 series RUDE 18" crash still going, 1000 series RUDE 20" power ride still going, 1000 series 18 RUDE China stil going. Original 15" RUDE hihats still going. They have all been hit very hard, gigged many times and they've lasted well. Every cymbal will break eventually if hit too hard often enough. My first 101 16" crash 24 y/old still going strong (weird)

  • that sounds like a trash can lid...

  • ya, im a paiste artist, all i use is paiste, i love paiste but that cymbal fucking sucks. sounds like shit..

  • Paiste Rudes are supposed to sound trashy. They are meant for high volume playing like heavy metal or punk.

  • my rudes sound trashy, but not like trash.

  • I love Rude cymbals and I am lucky enough to own a few but this just sounds a bit too dry for me. It could just be the way it has been recorded but....I don't know.

  • ....And...They (like almost any other cymbal) sound a lot better when hearing them in the mix of the band playing as opposed to on their own

  • @SteveIrwinRulesS says the guy who searched for ''paiste rude wild crash 18''...

  • did they want these cymbals to sound like shit or was that an accident?

  • That looked like an original Rude cymbal from the 70's...Not a reissue like the set I own now. I have an 18" crash/ ride and it's a little washy for a ride cymbal. My 20" rude power ride works better as a ride. I also own other rude cymbals: 14" hi hats, a 10" splash, 17" thin crash and a 18" china, all reissued Rude series cymbals. My favorites are Paiste's rudes and signatures Paiste series, I also own 16" fast crash, 17" fast crash, 18" full crash. Pearl drums, DW9000 kicks.

  • It's a 2002 RUDE from 1997. There are no original or reissue RUDE cymbals, just RUDEs, 2002 RUDEs, 3000 RUDEs these are the same cymbals with different stamping on.

  • I purchased new all my Rude cymbals from Musician Friend web site... The cymbals I bought are all called reissued Rude series cymbals. None of them had any other stamp on them except for the name and the model and size. The originals use to have a flag cymbal on them. Though they sold me what I thought would be an actual 70's series cymbal all the cymbals seem to pale in comparison to the originals I once owned. I am disappointed after buying all of them for $1100 without stands...

  • Rude production started at 1980. No Rudes in the '70-s. What flag cymbal? The first Rudes looked like the ones are currently in production, except the paiste stamping over the big RUDE stamping. After that it faded into the 3000 series, and than in the '90-s into the 2002 series, and then become again a separate series. Same cymbals, with different stampings.

  • Give me your e-mail address and I'll send you pics of my drum set and the Rude's I have...

The symbol I was referring to was an actual Swiss Flag emblem. They still include the text "made in Switzerland" I doubt it though...

  • ssssanc hotmail

  • I have a Rude 1000 18" China (Sounds awesome btw)

  • i say rude's cymbals r the best cuz thye look like they can take a beating and not brake

  • any cymbals cood to me it just finding the right place for it but thats just me

  • At my age (14) it actually depends on how my grades are to get the cymbals so anything made by sabian, meinl, paiste, zildjian, are good for me.

  • that makes no sense

    go fuck a donkey lol

  • wow! paiste RUDE and zildjian Z CUSTOM, ARE THE

BEST CYMBALS TO PLAY ROCK OR METAL, BUT NO JAZZ OR SOME WITH SHINE AND SMALL SOUND, I CAN SAY IF YOU PLAY ROCK PLIS BUY PAISTE RUDE OR ZILDJIAN Z CUSTOM, SABIAN AR NOT FOR METAL, REPEATE SABIAN AR NOT FOR PLAY METAL.

  • I GOT IT

  • thats right!!!

  • actually sabian is good for playing metal but you have to the right one like metal-x cymbals or double A

  • ya i cant really agree wit u.cuz wit the rude cymbals u can really rock out.but on sum sabian cymbals u cant hit them 2 hard.personally i like 2 just smash on my cymbals beat the shit out of them.

  • Double A is a great sounding cymbal line...

  • i play A customs so i like zildjian but Z customs sound like shit

  • Too raw and too loud for me, I think I prefer my rock and heavy Alpha cymbals ;)

  • I didnt know that there was a 2002 rude model...

  • Actually... The name of the serie used to be 2002 RUDE but paiste changed for RUDE :-)

    Peace.

  • it sounds really cool .. but its just the uglyest cymbal i've ever seen

  • Cliff Martinez the drummer from Red Hot Chili Peppers (1984-1985) used Paiste Rude. I just love the sound of a Rude, I mean Rude doesn't sound like any other cymbals

  • Serious?!

  • Stagg Vintage Bronze sounds a little alike... but it's too dry for me, I need it more wet!!!!!!

  • I LOVE THIS ONE!!!!!!!!!

  • it look's awefull but the sound is verry nice!

  • paiste rules

  • Amen

  • it does moer damage than it helps if you record a cymbal with a normal videocamera and then post it with the intend if showing people how it sounds...thats my oppinion anyway... go to your local drumstore and hear them reallife!

  • When used with your set and in combination with other cymbals it sounds different again! Then you start playing together with the guitars and again it sounds different! A video is good enough for knowing if you should try these cymbal or not. Fuck the local store

  • i dont like use a crash/ride but this cymbal sound good to be a crash/ride PAISTE FOREVER

  • cool

  • doesnt jordinson use rudes?

  • yaeh

  • Personally I prefere my New Alphas. Rude are too loud, raw and agressive for me.

  • Paiste is fucking amazing. Very nice sounding CR.

  • i dount like it

  • PAISTE IS AMAZING i have a set of alphas but im thinking of upgrading to a giant beat set or something anyone have any reccomendations? if it helps i play jazz/fusion/rock pretty much everything except heavymedal screamo stuff no offense to anyoen who plays that i just dont enjoy playing heavymedal as much but yeah please message me becase im not sure what to get i know itll be paistes though

    thanks

  • thin 2002's or giant beat, mabey even the new 20 series would suit you

  • yeah deffinitely go for the thin 2002's not the original formula regular crashes. i am REALLY disappointed with my 18", it is really dark and has good overtones it is just TOO dark, that's why i'm getting a 16" to go with my new 17".

  • Ordinary Rudes are probably too aggressive for jazz/fusion, but try the Rude Thin Crashes. I own two 20", they are beautiful in every way, and I don't play metal.

  • not good..

  • This cymbal doesn't sound like any rude i've heard live.

  • That means you haven't heard any RUDE crash/rides yet.

  • It is a 2002 RUDE...Littble bit different hammering, but still no lathing. Maybe even a SLIGHTLY different alloy?

  • It is the same as classic rudes. Same hammering, same alloy. The only difference is the logo.

  • Oh...I wonder why them even made them then or disco'ed them....

Anyways I wouldnt mind having my entire set surrounded my 2002 RUDEs...God they'll cut through the biggest and loudest amps imaginable.

  • since cymbals recorded unprofessionally often sound terrible, it's hard to get a good read...obviously this is a RUDE crash/ride, not exactly supposed to sound tame and silky!

  • they dont sound the best but who cares is PAISTE :0

  • paiste is mad

  • the paiste rude cymbols sound fucking awsome but they r so fucking loud

  • Hell yeah, my Rude hats rip through my guitarist's Krank Double stack. They're sick!

  • way exspensive and they look real cheap.

  • Yeah I know!!!!!!!!!! I have one, and I don't even like it!! sounds like a trash can lid!

  • that's f*cking awesome!

  • rudes kick ass
