@TheEuroperules the thing that made Ayrton such a great driver (and test driver for the NSX) was that he was committed to making his machines perform better by giving accurate and detailed feedback. This seems to be more a personality thing than talent. So hiring Bruno to help develope the NSX could make him the best NSX driver out there, but not necessarily make the NSX the best it could be. But we'll see...
bruno senna is a senna...very talented...i will chear for him in f1 2010...sooo good to see other senna on track...go big bruno ,we are brazilians very proud about u and your familiy...
You people must be idiots! I don't claim to be a racer but my ex-girlfriends father was a professional F1 racer here in Japan and he used to teach me some awesome driving skills in my Nissan GT-R. It seems to me that Brainman94 is making valid points based on logical thinking and you're bashing him for it. He doesn't seem to have a personal vendetta against Bruno. I agree, I don't know of any sport where you could take a 10 yr. break and then compete with the best.
Bruno is talented, no doubt about it but you must also understand that at 8 years of age he was a lot lighter than Ayrton at that time which gave him a tremendous advantage.
I'm don't think I understand you, could you rephrase that? But I'll try to guess what you meant and just write a resonse :D
Whether or not someone is a world champion makes no difference when the other person basically has more than a second advantage because of his light weight, if the cars haven't been made of equal weight with additional weights. Differences in karting are much smaller than in other categories. Even I could have beaten Ayrton with a kart that is one second faster than his.
Brainman94... you sound like a whinging baby crying over spilled milk. For you to say that Bruno is not a good driver and doesn't deserve to be where he is, is asinine. Does his name help? Yes in certain ways but he also has higher expectations placed on him.
Bottom line is stop making excuses for why you wanked around while others worked harder and are ahead of you in life... and on that note I'll stomp you ANYDAY in a Formula Ford, go cry somewhere else
His uncle Ayrton was great (the Greatest - ever - no dounbt whatsoever - but it doesn't mean Bruno should get the gig before more deserving drivers - everyone deserves the same opportunity yeah? Even his uncle Ayrton would agree - he was a man of true principal - he was appalled at injustice of this kind!

Don't tell me I'm not qualified! Of course I dare to judge - I KNOW IT ALL!
I raced for 10 years winning multiple State and National Titles in Karts and Formula Ford. I won a "shootout" at a day school in F3 and F1 cars. But I wasn't offered a drive in F3 because I had no family money or famous name to get me a seat! Without doubt I (and many many others) were better and more deserving of a GP2 seat than Bruno - we didnt take 10 years off thinking about racing - we DID IT for 10 years!
You people must be idiots! I don't claim to be a racer but my ex-girlfriends father was a professional F1 racer here in Japan and he used to teach me some awesome driving skills in my Nissan GT-R. if you wn multiple State and Nation kart championships and raced in Formula Ford then prove it. I've worked in Motorsport over here in Britain since I was 14 and professionally since I was 18. I've raced karts since I was 9 and did 2 years fo Champions of the future (97,98) again's Hamilton, Green etc. I'd just like to know know what your real backgound is. Also who was the F3/F1 shootout organised by? Seriously...
No Ayrton Senna's nephew doesnt deserve any more chance than John Citizen's son who has more talent. Fuck off with your elitiest attitude. Motorsport is the most corrupt of all sports (of course - because its by far the most expensive). It's history is littered with wasted talents who were never given a chance while untalented richkids with connections got their seats instead!
He started early with go-karts, his uncle said he has what it takes, it took him just a few years of competitive racing after a 10 year absence from any kind of racing to get where he is. What more proof do you want or are you just talking out your arse? lol
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
you said it all yourself - a 10 year absence fromANY involvement!
There is no sport, act, profession, talent whatsoever in life, where someone with ZERO exprience can match people with 10 years daily practice. That proves 1 or 2 things - Either the activity itself requires almost no skill OR Bruno got there on his name - not on skill. You can'y have it any other way. What is your choice?
How limited can you be? You neither know him or the others, you're not racing him, you're not involved in the sport whatsoever, yet you dare judge. It's laughable the way you insist so much on proving that he's got no skill before he's even given the chance to prove it, lol. I suppose if he comes in F1 and wins races, you'd say F1 requires almost no skills either, LOL! The results speak for themselves and the lack of experience just backs up the presence of talent, the rest is your own jealousy.
Fuck off - there's already too many sons-of-fathers in F1 - Villeneuve,Hill, Rosberg, Nakajima, Piquet, Senna and u want prost and presumably Mansell and in 15 years Schumacher? Fuck off - these assholes are stealing the seats of better drivers who didnt have famous fathers!
F1 is just a nepotistic bullshit business and Old Boys club - not a real sport at all!
damnn, weird way, i do agree now, rosberg, senna, !!!piquet!!!!!!, nakajima, coincidence their fatehrs/uncle were in the same eras?? old boys club.. still love it tho.
So why dont other sports also have 20 to 25% of the players whose Dads were the premier league players a generation ago? That's not how genetics work! - Offspring are not automatically as talented. There is some correlation but not 25%. Its more like 0.25% of elite offspring who have elite talent.
You are just making excuses as you are a star-struck fan that simply likes seeing star names, rather than a true fan of fair sport and equal opportunity.
Please Honda, choose Bruno Senna over that idiot Di Grassi, Senna is faster apparently, naturally, he's a Senna after all, he has the more potential I think, I like him, he reminds me of uncle Ayrton.
i hope they chose senna he is much faster then di grasi, and he is a nephew of Ayrton greatest ever so he sure has the potential, and honda should not forget what ayrton said about him!!!If brunno did not have 10 years away from racing he would be f1 driver allready
I started watching F1 after 8 years and I feel up to date with all the basic facts, teams and so on. If Senna joins next year ANY TEAM, I will support it 110% and probably subscribe to magazines and podcasts and whatnot
I hope that Bruno Senna comes to Formula One and succeeds. The media will compare him to his Uncle Ayrton constantly, but I am sure he will cope. Also- many congratulations to Lewis Hamilton, and I am sure that Felipe Massa is a future world champion.
well we dont know who will win the title but if massa won the title he would only be the 2nd brazilian to win since ayerton senna but i dont know what the outcome would be.
I'm british, but when Senna joins F1 , I will be behind him too, Lewis Hamilton is good no one can deny, but I do wonder why he has Ayrtons' helmet colours, I know he is his hero etc etc, but the helmet will always be Sennas.
I agree, I hope Lewis wins the title this year and I really hope Senna joins F1 in 2009 I wonder what Lewis will make of racing Senna. Its great. Bruno seems a really nice guy, i only hope the media give him time to shine.
Lets get this straight first, Lewis Hamilton NEVER compared himself to Ayrton, he would like to Emulate him and he respects him and he is basically his idol and hero.. there is a difference.. but apart from that you are right about Bruno.
I am brazilian and I like Hamilton, but Hamilton said a couple of times that he is like Ayrton Senna!! It is so annoying and sounds arrogant. In otherhand Bruno seems like his uncle , is pretty fast (though not to fast as his uncle was) and humble.
I like him. I hope to see him 2009 in the F1. It will be an asset, for sure.
