  • Thank you for this video, as i was going to buy this.

The problem is i dont have usb 3.0 and cant have it, both my laptop and computer are too aged for it.

As a computer major i already know that even if i bought a pci express usb 3.0 and installed it, it still wouldnt work due to the motherboard.

At anyrate unless you got a top notch system this sucker isnt for you.

  • does it support hdmi dude

  • will it work with my Asus notebook G73JW?

  • @smithodude There are many updates as of today.

  • Wait, this has an HDMI cable input/output but can't record in 1080p?

  • @EvilApple567 It records 1080p, but not higher than 30fps.

  • 1st: how do u know if ur computer is USB 2.0 or 3.0? 2nd: what cables wud i need to record using an HDMI cable, while getting the audio. plz respond, i plan on getting it tonight, n this is the only HD cap card ive seen with HDMI cable slot

  • that unboxing made me lol/

  • @Zico10101010 Me too. :)

  • @aeyst haha

  • My Mac Has Usb 3.0 Will This Work ?

  • @PsychoWafflez Macs don't have USB 3.0

  • please, please respond ... what would you rather recommend? intensity shuttle or intensity pro? reply

  • @FellowGaming I have both, and if your computer can support it get the Shuttle.

  • They should make MAC com. compatible with usb. 3.0, Damn

  • awkward silence...

  • i haz questoin! Can i haz your box?!?!?!?

  • @shadowodd Sorry I traded it for a cup.

  • can i upgrade my pc to have 3.0 and how do i check if i have x58?

  • guessing it does have a hdmi passthrough? like i can play and record at the same time??

I had hauppauge before. I was annoying with the component connection(hdmi looks better) and that thing used to randomly freeze so much during recording. sold it lol..

  • omg its tiny

  • how much is it

  • so this or pro??

  • This thing is beast, i was worried about lag when recording off an xbox360 but its un noticible

  • So I'll need a USB 3.0 thingy?

  • DOES THIS WORK WITH MAC?

  • @JukeCinema No. You must have USB 3.0

  • @aeyst

Thank You Very Much For Ruining My Moment

I Guess ill just have to get an eyeTv

  • @aeyst will i be fine if i have a m17x i7 laptop i want to use this for broad casting my computer on blogtv screen caping take up so much cpu

    i own two m17x :)

  • @brokeandbloging No, no notebooks will support this as of today.

  • @aeyst no it will not it must bne usb 3.0 on main bord pci express will not work i have the spec but not the ports if you like try test if it will work on a pci express card go a head

  • @aeyst no you dont USB 3.0 is backwards compatible with USB 2.0 its just not as fast

  • @RMJGaming Backwards compatible means you can use a previous generation device ; usb 2.0 ;in the new generation connector. This device requires too much bandwidth for usb 2.0. You will be wasting you money if you try to plug this in a usb 2.0 port.

  • @aeyst then do you know what i could get to make it comatible with my computer

  • @aeyst this kid is smoking rocks 3.0 not backwards compatible with 2.0

  • @aeyst My motherboard is an Intel H67 which is better than the specs required given by Blackmagic on their site, will it still work If I already have USB 3.0?

  • Respond to this video...

  • @RMJGaming No, this will not work with usb 2.0. it says that everywhere in the description for this product and even on the box. You cannot pipe uncompressed HD video over usb 2.0

  • @RMJGaming Yes, you can. They have adapters for both Macintosh laptops and desktops that will give you USB 3.0 slots.

  • @Kratos87Fan19 There is no Mac software available from BlackMagic Design to support the shuttles use on a Mac.

  • @RMJGaming You must have usb 3.0. Theres no doubt.

  • @JukeCinema yh but you might have to wait for mac to update in usb 3.0

  • @JukeCinema This doesnt work with MACs. :(

  • how much does this cost?

  • @xDeAdLiiEsTnAzzii $199 USD

  • Is the usb 3.0 to usb 2.0 cable every time in there

  • @TheReallyFresh It's a USB 3.0 cable. One end just looks like usb 2.

  • Is USB 3.0 really necessary? Or can yo still capture video without having a PC that supports USB 3.0?

  • @xXMP914Xx If you have a desktop pc, buy a a usb 3.0 Pci slot card they are only 25 dollars!

  • @xXMP914Xx The bandwith is too high for USB 2.0.

  • Does your laptop have to be super fast to run this my laptop runs a dazzle fine can you help me

  • @ExtremeGamer777 A fast hard drive is necessary for uncompressed video at high fps.

  • does it support xbox 360 ??

  • Comment removed

  • what did you buy buy this for?

  • @NOFEARAVK To collect dust.

  • @aeyst HAHA lovely british sarcasm ftw !

  • does your computer HAVE to be USB 3.0? i heard it didnt...

  • the port on your laptop computer is it usb 2 or 3

  • lol got mine yesterday! And it wont work O.o And i contacted support and all they said was to return it. Like WTF dont even try to help. Well w/e. Now to get the drivers installed again.

  • @EmptyGamingHD It will work, unless you have a hardware issue. Disable antivirus/antispyware and User Account controls. I think you don't have the minimum hardware specs, and that is why they told you to return it. If it were broken hardware they would have told you to send it in for repair. If you do not have USB 3.0 and X58 then purchase and Intensity Pro PCIe card.

  • Can you use this with FME (Adobe Flash media encoder) to Stream? (BlogTV, Ustream etc.)

  • @cornbreadman64 No, webcam capabilities do not work with the shuttle yet.

  • @aeyst I'm pretty sure you can use the intensity shuttle in FME for sites like JTV.

  • @MrBBG123 Nope, no video seen in FME during setup, and errors. I'll post a video so all can see, that webstreaming does not currently support USB 3.0 devices.

  • @aeyst someone from black magic posted a fix in the the videohelp forums. you have to change some stuff but it does work. I'll message you the link.

  • @MrBBG123 Thanks for the info. I got the the video working in FME 3.1 and VHmulticam.

  • Comment removed

  • Please respond if I could Intensity Shuttle is compatible with USB 2.0

  • @VegitanksHDTV usb 2.0 isnt fast enough to rrgetthe HD signals.

  • does it work 4 laptop plzz reply????????????

  • @badoloco99 if ur laptop has usb 3.0

  • So hdmi will not work on ps3? Medina, ngt does not give you hauppauge HD pvr? Just wondering.

  • So wtf, ...so gay how you HAVE to have an X58 motherboard with usb 3.0 integrated or an X58 mobo with a pci usb 3.0 card :( I really want this but I have a dual core :(

    See:

Installation: USB 3.0. Requires an x58 based motherboard with onboard USB 3.0, or a USB 3.0 PCI Express card and an x58 or P55 series motherboard. Does not support USB 2.0 capture and playback. Please check the Support pages to see the full system requirements.

  • @GTXNate no u just use a usb 3.0 pci thing, even if that is true though, u need to realize this is new technology and wont work on old computers get with it.

  • @whatniqqaplease no, if you get the pci usb 3.0 adapter you still need to have an X58 motherboard or a P55. I promise, go look on the site man :P

Anyways, this cap card is out of the picture for me since i'm still using my dual core setup. It can't be THAT much better than the HD PVR.

  • @GTXNate no not an adapter a USB sata card they have one called the U3S6(USB SATA 6) and it works with almost every asus motherboard and hdmi>component so it can be that much better ;)

  • @whatniqqaplease lol..dude..what im saying is that if you buy this card...you still NEED a p55 mobo or x58 mobo. go to black magic's site please.

  • @GTXNate lol...dude...what im saying is they most liekyl didnt know you can can PCI usb 3.0 addon things and those motherboards are the only baords with usb 3.0, so they assume u need that mobo. But with a usb 3.0 pci card you most liekly wont need one.

  • @whatniqqaplease Nonono, they did say that u can! You CAN use those if you have an X58 motherboard or a P55 that DOESN'T have USB 3.0..ya know what I mean? like, If I went out and bought that pci usb 3.0 card and tried it, it wouldn't work. You MUST have an X58 or P55 motherboard to use those pci cards with the Shuttle.

  • @GTXNate look, it needs to be usb 3.0 to transmit all those signals from hdmi or something. And usb 2.0 is to slow, which is why its usb 3.0. But anything plugged directly into a pci slot(blackmagic intensity pro) is fast enough to capture hdmi. So plugging a usb 3.0 into a pci slot would make it work. Also, some p55/x58 mobos have usb 2.0, so do u think it would still work?

  • @whatniqqaplease omfg, im sorry..but you just aren't getting it. This is copied exactly from the site. I have no idea why this is but this is what it says..okay?

Installation: USB 3.0. Requires an x58 based motherboard with onboard USB 3.0, or a USB 3.0 PCI Express card and an x58 or P55 series motherboard.

See how it says "Or a USB 3.0 PCI Express card AND an X58 or P55 series motherboard" It does require those motherboards...I am done arguing with you about this lol.

  • @GTXNate you dont know anything.

  • @whatniqqaplease lmao, ok :P bye bro!

  • @GTXNate okay kid, look. I emailed blackmagic and asked them if an addon card would work and they said it would work as long as its not a usb 2.0 to 3.0 adapater thing and its an actual usb 3.0 slot.

  • @whatniqqaplease

Uhm, I don't think you know what you talking about. GTXNate is right, you do need an x58 or P55 motherboard. Don't reply to me because I don't want you to flip a bitch.

  • is this compatible with usb 2.0?

  • @thedrywaterburns no its not.

  • where do you live? The retailers around my house still dont have this product yet...... :(

  • @Medina4life I'm from Upstate NY. Get it online. B&H photo video

  • Who da hell has a 3.0 usb... anyone agree?

  • @ZoshaCLips not standard in most Mobo's right now, but give it a year and I bet they will be a standard

  • @ZoshaCLips I've had it since februaury 2010, on an asus p6x58d premium motherboard.

  • @ZoshaCLips who still has usb 2.0, if you want good technogly you cant be using ur little $300 emachine.

  • i wnt buy it

but input 1080P are ok or only 1080i

coz i wnt record from 1080p

i ve already hd pvr but if it s not record from 1080p input is pointless for me

    please let me know

  • @rxmako Yes it can record progressive 1080 in the following fps ; 1080p23.98, 1080p24, 1080p25, 1080p29.97, 1080p30

  • @aeyst thx for reply

    other question

I ve dolby digital spdfi in out don t exist

and i hear that from hdmi is impossible record for restrinction or audio missing during record

    Is it true??

  • Hey, quick question

Say im recording form component on this capture card,

Would i be able to record in component hd then use the composite sd output so i could record in hd while playing in sd?

  • @jesse3040 Yes you can process the output to SD Letterbox or Anamorphic, from HD

  • can it live stream

  • hey I was wondering are you having problems with your intensity shuttle because Im having trouble to get video from it, only audio. people on forums are having the same prob to

  • @E2MMEDIA I can only get the component to work properly. The HDMI seems like there is an issue. Channel one in the media express player is pegged when using the HDMI input.

  • @aeyst hdmi input will not work due to hdcp sony deliberately blocks any recording from hdmi, its a form of security, do you mind telling me though how you installed yours, by the way when you go to the blackmagic control panel do you just get one option

  • @E2MMEDIA I am only attempting to display what the image sensor is picking up. There is no HDCP content; but I'll check the settings to see if I am somehow applying CP to the HD.

    I'll post a setup video.

In the outputs section I have one option: All Outputs Active ; the inputs have many options.

  • @aeyst i dont really have a problem with the setup but with the software

  • @E2MMEDIA try changing your frame rate to 29.97

  • @Medina4life dont worry i dont need to do that I've already got it working, why have you got one

  • I got mine yesteday as well but am still trying to set it up

  • Hey Post a Quality Video please i already subbed to u

  • The video can viewed in 1080p. It was taken on a Sony HDR-CX550v and the AVCHD file was uploaded to youtube. Check your settings.

  • Finally, I thought It would never come out.

Also this card can record inputs up to 1080p/30FPS

  • @cornbreadman64 Found it on B&H website, while others sites were waiting for stock.
