I totally agree. To me there is WAY TOO MUCH hype for 3D. I recently saw the last Harry Potter in 3d, it hurt my eyes, and gave me a little bit of a head ache. I never get head aches, I did like the movie though. It just wasn't worth the 3d head ache.

3D movies aren't nessacary one bit, when I watch a movie (not with people that talk!) it's like a dream and 3D is just like okay.... so yeah the glasses are cool and so are the boobs we like to put them in casually as we walk out of the theater =]

Haha, I've been saying the same thing for the past few months. I dunno, being a film graduate I guess I think more time should be put into the over-all story versus some visual gimmick. Inception wasn't in 3-D but it'll take my vote as the best movie of the year. Well, I loved Scott Pilgrim too, but I'm a geek sooo...

To me, 3D is most effective when its main focus for a movie is in the storytelling elements like Avatar. But when you have originally released 2D movies, quickly being converted to 3D, thats when it becomes obvious that they're trying to compensate for something(story,originality,et­c.). Overall, I don't mind 3D movies existing. I just hope moviegoers wise up to not be suckered into the craze so easily.

I had not seen a 3D movie since I was like a kid, then I went to see Avatar. It kind of made me dizzy at first. Also, it's improved since I was a kid. And then I saw How To Train Your Dragon 3D, just because someone else was paying and the movie didn't look like it would hurt to watch (aka suck).

And I totally stole the glasses from Avatar so that I could pop out the lenses and make nerd glasses. Which was actually the main point in going to see it in 3D. For the glasses. Kind of.

You have to go and see a movie in 3D and in 2D so you can actually see the difference. lol not everything is supposed to jump out at you if you compare the 2 you can tell it's way better in 3D. AVATAR was AMAZING in 3D!

I do not like 3D movies. The only i've seen though was Coraline..But the glasses give me a headache and the usually don't seem to work for me anyway. Definitely not the future, and don't even get me started on the new 3D tvs. Wow, lame.

I think the best experiance I had with being in 3D was "Scrooge". It made it terrifying, but it was great.

3D hurts my brain -_- and it never seems just right to me!! I mean like I always see the one image and then the same image faintly to the right or something. It's like they never perfectly match up and I'm always seeing two. Maybe my eyes are broken O.o and I always feel bad stealing the glasses hahaha

I agree. After the first couple of minutes of watching a movie, I do not realize that it is 3d. It is all the same in the end. I think the next generation of movie is going to be Imax or a better pixel quality.

It's not like I dislike them, but I think that it isn't necessary. I also think that if the movie is part of a series, it shouldn't be in 3D.

For example, Resident Evil: Afterlife is said to be in 3D. The other 3 Resident Evil movies are 2D...I think they should just keep it 2D. Will I go see it in 3D anyway? Most likely..but I still dislike the fact...its like a continuity thing for me I suppose.

3D is different now than it was in the 50s. They changed the typical two-toned red n blue glasses to polarized light glasses so the technology is better. And for the really cheaply done 3D movies, they jumped on the bandwagon too late anyway and just put 3d into the movie AFTER it was done. Which is such a cop-out... Avatar for example was made to be in 3d from the start so the 3d was better.

I took my 5 and 7 year old to see monsters VS aliens and it was really cute. My kids loved it but it did make by eyes hurt. I would rather see reg type movies though!

It's not for the glasses, it's more expensive to play 3-D movies because they need something extra or whatever.

I think 3-D is cool but they are going overboard with it. Some of the movies that are rumored to be in 3-D really shouldn't be.

nah taking the glasses isnt stealing, because since they are sealed when you get them, you are purchasing them not renting, therefopre the recycle box is optional, i have like 10 pairs now. Be nice if they let you bring your own in and didnt make you pay for another pair though
