Hi Craig, can u describe which one better between Howell and Marty ? I can't hear clear enough from the video to tell the actual difference but I can tell u that u play awesome :)
Ah yeah. Clean playing and there were some nice dynamics in there. You gotta love those Tedesco harmonies. How does his stuff lie on the finger board? I've never played any...
Easier than Rodrigo but harder than Villa Lobos... Less wierd chords than Rodrigo so the chord shapes are fairly standard. I'd say Segovia had a fair level of input into the final edition unlike Rodrigo's music which is less comprimised.
I guess the exchange between Segovia and Tedesco was a lot more involved than it was with Rodrigo. Thanks for the info, again great playing...if you get a chance search night and day trio and let us know how we're coming along. Thanks.
It's a Richard Howell Spruce 1989 no.188. Very trad Fleta style guitar made in Australia. Check out w w w dot howellguitars dot com. He makes possibly the best of that style in the world. How much do you want to spend? What country are you in? I've just moved on to a Simon Marty guitar also made in Aust. but very modern using carbon fibre radial bracing (not like Smallman). Huge sound. I have posted a video now using the new guitar "un dia de noviembre".
thats sounds great what kind of guitar are you playing on ,i am in the process of looking for a new guitar this is one of the fun things to do in life.anyway do you have any suggestions?
Thanks for that improved camera angle which shows the right hand so well. Did you change Segovia's fingering very much? If so, I'm very interested in knowing where. If you would consider sending me a copy of your fingering, I'd gladly compensate you for your trouble. Please let me know. I am fletcherdann at cox dot net
I know what you mean about "change it often". The refinements never seem to end!(My copy has a price of $1.25, so that tells you how long I've been a fan of this piece. It sounds like jotting down the changes might be an unnecessary task - not really in your interest. I wonder if I might have something YOU'D like to have. Would you consider continuing our conversation via email? Respectfully,
Richard Howell. Australian maker that originally copied Fleta's guitars (used by John Williams in the 60s and 70s) but now has gone his own way although still inspired by Fleta. He uses very traditional methods without any power tools. I am about to get a Simon Marty guitar however (same as Scott Tennant), just for something a little more modern and easy to play.
Amazing - I your reponse to a flattering comen on one of your other videoes, where you denies being good, adding that you just practice a lot... I don`t doubt that you practice a lot - but imho you got a lot of other things going for you - "talent" for short... Anyways - I enjoyed this video a lot - thank you for posting it...;o)
Thanks, It's nice of you to say so. I didn't deny being good, I think I denied being "super". I believe, given the right environment from birth, almost anyone is capable of achieving a very high standard in any field (music or sport etc.) I think physical coordination is mostly learnt (not entirely maybe) but musicality is just exposure to lots of good music played well. Simular to learning your native language.
Absolutely AMAZING!!!

Sure but i haven't actually written it down. If I do i'll send it to you. I tend to do fingering on the fly and change it often.
