I listen to this while doing my Anatomy notes.. makes my handwriting very nice.. any other music besides Mozart makes it ugly. Mozart..thank you for making my handwriting legible.
Very good performance. I always like to hear this early Mozart played by a quartet; that was probably how the Mozart clan first performed it, most like with young Wolfie on 2nd violin, which he often did in family musicales. He was, by most reports, a very good violinist, but was such astonishing pianist that he really never got heard as a fiddler. We only have to the look at the Violin Concerti to know he knew his violin. Thanks for a very satisfying posting
It's very clean, and I'm impressed by the off-the-string 16th notes... I feel kind of like there's a bit too much phrasing, though, to the point of swelling. It gets a bit annoying after the fiftieth time.
@Kyothecatxx lmfao u kids are still on about something i posted 8month just a bunch of no life faggotzz gg noobs i dont give a shit wat u whiny kids gotta say
@Kyothecatxx that was 8month ago and btw this song is better played with a whole orchestra not 3 lone violins. i didnt really give a shit about ppl rep to my comment until they kept doing it.
@estring123 Well I can respect your opinion. I have that opinion of some pieces sometimes, but the way you said it was just rude. If you would've said it like this I don't think you would be getting so many comments.
The fluid harmony of the quartet is impressive. Although, I prefer the orchestrated versions. Perfect upbeat tempo in the first and third movements... they are great for the morning.
Wow, I love this version! I've played this divertimento many times in various orchestras, but I think the spiccatos played by single violins make for a much crisper sound than when played in a large ensemble.
@YOUCANNOTDENY Ya they go to 441-442, 440 is the "American" sound because we're america and of course just have to do our own thing, or maybe thats just defining ourselves as musicians... I dont know but 441 and 442 sound really nice to be honest. 440 is some Copland shit. xD
Typical string orchestras are tuned 440, while solos, duos, trios etc. tune 442. In the olden days 415 exist, for example in Johann Pachelbel's time, Canon in D is played in 415
The string quartet lacks the depth of the string orchestra, but the clarity and togetherness are really exciting... it seems more energetic and spontaneous than the string orchestra versions...
this is the song that plays in movies whenever you walk into a room full of high-class people

Mozart intentionally wrote this as a joke, he said it was clumsy and very repetitive. Dont believe me? see for yourself.

I can only imagine if Mozart was tuned in to a higher consciousness or vibrating at a different level, even compared to today. Man was genius.

2:27 is the HARDEST part for the 2nd violins. our class can't get the 16th notes down.
GeneticBrand 2 years ago 4
@GeneticBrand
try 4 16th notes/bow much easier and when you master it try using only 1 bow for all

Some lovely phrasing and dynamics, but doesn't anybody thinks the intonation is a bit on the sharp side?
joekiwi11 2 years ago
Now that you say that, I do notice it, lol. But at least it doesn't sound all that bad.
482348570 2 years ago
It may sound like it's sharp, but in Europe, A is tuned higher than in America.

It is the advantage of listening to four soloists at the once, and of the ensemble for which divertimenti are intended.
