its like 3x1+1 = 4 then copy the denominator which is 3.. so 4/3.. then the answer is like 3x14+2 = 44 then copy the denominator again which is 3.. so 44/3.. im not good in math also.. im just trying to help

@yalizca i guess you must get the answer, if you havent, then.

let say 3 slices of cakes becomes 1 cake. then 3/3 =1

you have 44 slices of cakes, using 3 slices and combine them to become 1,

and you got the result that you actually have 14 of one whole cake, which is using 42 slices and combine each 3 of them together.

since you have 44 and you only using 42, you still have 2 left.

then it means you only have 2 slices of cake out of 3 slices to become one whole cake.

thats what 2/3 means

From an improper fraction to a mixed number, she took the number of times 3 divided into 44which was 14 (3x14=42). That 14 becomes the whole number of the mixed fraction.

And because you have 2 remaining (42+2=44) the 2 becomes your new numerator/top number of your converted fraction.

You keep the your original denominator/bottom number. Giving you 14 2/3. Hope that helped.
