5.0L Truck EFI. Big cam on Speed density.

hey that cam is a 110 lobe seperation the duration is pretty much right and valve lift is a little off to accept a sd cam how did you get it to run right did you put an adjustable fuel reg on it and reprogram the computer or buy a j3 servic chip and program it your self im very curious cause the minum cam is around 220/220 duration a .48/.48 lift and the lobe sepration has to be 114. now unless you did some alterations like shorte the push rods to get the valves right but still shouldnt work

please send the engine mods and specs cause ive been scratching my head for weeks now and the speed density cam from comp cams is pretty much a stock cam the magnum cam you have is a reasonable cam and god midrange power the big question is with the truck running does it throw any codes thanks tom

ten four i'v got a street built 302 outta a 88 cobra iv got carberated outta my last truck and im runnin a trickflo stage 1 cam .499 .510 that im re doin for my 88 150 im tryin to get a mass air harness so i can fuel inject it, did you stick with the speed desity or no?

@82hotrod I finally got around and put a new 302 in this truck. I installed a trickflow stage 1 cam too. It runs fine, I havent driven it yet because i have to break the rings in. But it seems to run good so far by what I can tell.

Throw some Gt-40 Irons on there and it will wake up that 5.0.

What kinda cold air u got on it? A K&N? I have a '94 F-150 w/ a 5.0 in it. And I have a K&N Cold Air, an Airaid Throttle Body Spacer, and 40 series flowmasters on it with 2 4in. by 12in. echo tips on it and it sounds alot like that but a little deeper. I think i'm about to make a vid of it. Except mine is alot cleaner lol...no offense.

Speed density isn't supposed to work well with bigger cams. Your engine runs fine though. Do anything with the computer or ignition module?
