The best Iron Maiden would include both singers, with Bruce on the ones emphasizing melody and Paul handling the ones that emphasizing feeling and attitude. Bruce could surely best Paul on songs like Remember Tomorrow or Prodigal Son, while Paul would surely have done a better Prisoner, 22 Acacia Avenue or Number of the Beast.
@I totally disagree that Bruce would do a better job on ANY Di'anno song, especially Remember Tomorrow, he ruined it when he performed it, and Twilight Zone was greatly downgraded with Bruce singing it. Di'anno is the better singer in my opinion + def performs all songs on the Iron Maiden/Killers era better than Bruce has or could. As Di'anno has not performed songs like Flight Of Icarus, Seventh Son or Holy Smoke - it is hard to say, but I think he would perform those better also.
@jstagrrlie Dianno is way better than Bruce! And performs every song better. If he performed Hallowed Be Thy Name, Run To The Hills or any other Maiden song - he would be vastly better. Unfortunately as he only performs songs before The Number Of The Beast album - that cannot be prooved - he does however perform ALL of those better.
@Corrupt5358 He ain't as good as Bruce but he was the perfect singer for Maiden at that time but Bruce is THE best Maiden singer ever, and if you ask Paul he'll agree with me (watch the early days documentary)
@hallbergjonatan Seen it, he was probably just being polite. Bruce has done some diabolical performances eg. Hallowed Be Thy Name - Maiden England. It's a matter of opinion really, but I'm def with Di'anno.
@jstagrrlie Di'Anno is better at the early stuff there's no doubt about it. But there is absolutely no chance that Di'Anno could sing Brighter Than A Thousand Suns. Bruce is amazing.
@MetalSwitch95 You very much underestimate Di'anno, how would you know? He can reach those notes easily, and he doesn't sound waily, like he has been kicked in the bollox on the high notes, he can also sing like Max Cavalera, you are very mistaken!
i honestly have to say that i thought bruce dickenson was the better singer, but now i might be changing my mind a little. Paul Di'anno rules in these songs. I'm happy I went and dug a little further to this and the "roadgouse tapes". Very awsome and well done.
doesn't matter who is the best but how good was and is them with the songs played

To all you Bruce lovers - find a version of Wrathchild that Dickenson sang, that even nearly matches this

He was/is way better than Bruce - what are you talking about?
Corrupt5358 2 years ago
He can't hit the notes Bruce can, but I prefer his voice w/Maiden.
