the reason people like the r32 is because it had a NA 6cyl which was hard to find on vw's shitty lineup. now they replace that VR6 with a cheap, unreliable 2.0 running a crap turbo. this thing will never garnish a good resale value like the r32s and nobody will buy it when the GTI is the same thing minus awd (shit awd system too)

this car is garbage. a $17k golf with a turbo makes a $25k GTI and then add some leather seats and HIDs and fake AWD system and you get a $35k golf "r"

5-door version PLEASE! My GTI has DSG, I'm O.K. But a 5-door version is the only way I can hand the baby car seat when needed. Don't keep on helping your inexpensive, and unrefined competitor. I keep my fingers crossed on the 5-DOOR VERSION, so that I, and the ones who wanted the 5-door R32 version can finally enjoy probably the best Volkswagen product, all things considered. @davidchoyyaohui It is still a great car. Sadly I would only be able to buy it, if it comes as a 5-door version. To be able to easily place the car seat in the back. I want to buy it. That is why. I am letting Volkswagen North America in advance to bring the correct version. For an exclusive coupe they already have the TTs in the group. If they would be interested in a coupe with the VW badge, the Scirocco R is the replacement I would look for the R32.

For those who say "only 270HP", APR and GIAC already have software for the TT-S that boosts that to about 330HP, so I wouldn't be surprised to see the Golf R with 300AWHP after all the bolt ons and updated software. This version of the 2.0T has much stronger internals than that of the regular GTI.. Defintely gives some nice bang for the buck vs the old R32 VR6, so I am glad they went the turbo route.

Definitely not worth 30 grand. When you come to think of the other cars it's competing against the Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart and the Hyundai Genesis Coupe, it has pretty tough competition. Volkswagen should really stock relying on the "German engineering" gimmick to sell their cars for such an expensive price.
