@sigur95 Actually there kind of is, as Shuppet is a Ghost avoiding the Normal moves, but other Ghosts would be hit by Dream Eater, Shuppet is the only Pokémon (even now with Black and White out) that can avoid both the Normal type move and not be put to sleep, thus avoiding Dream Eater.

@PeaceThePenguin NICE! Double battles are great for levelling up youngens. In Black & White since TMs are reusable, often you can teach the baby Protect for a few battles, then replace it with something else so that can survive Double Battles very easily.
@MyTobi24 3 things: 1) This was before Black and White came out, so Audino didn't even exist at this point since this is Pokémon Pearl. 2) I do have a video with Shuppet with Audino, please do look at it, it's amazing! 3) Though I can't find actual lists of base experience yields, I do actually believe that Happiny/Chansey/Blissey/Arceus still all share the honour of being the things that give you the most experience.

@SJL151 I agree she sucks, like the video says it's because of the moves this Chansey has, Double Edge can't hurt Ghosts then Hypnosis can't work because of Shuppet's ability, which means Dream Eater can't work either, so only Defence Curl works. The other Shuppet videos actually have more idiotic trainers because ANY Ghost type works, not just Shuppet.
@blacksnowcatxx That's awesome, but how? A Lv100 Magikarp should know Tackle and Flail and a Lv1 one wouldn't only do 1HP per hit (more than likely) and Tackle only has 35PP (56PP at most, still not enough to take out a Lv100 one surely)?

@DJDTInc No it's not, I imagine you may have realised that by the time you read this comment but as the video states Chansey didn't know any moves that could hurt Shuppet and so the only thing the computer could do was to increase its defences. Double Edge doesn't hurt Ghosts, Shuppet had Insomnia so neither Sing nor Dream Eater could work. It's a clever exploit, not luck.

@Favel1000 Correct, you breed it, get a Female Shuppet/Banette that knows Curse and a suitable partner (so another Shup/Ban or I think other Ghost types should work) that also knows Curse and breed them. Please check my Pokémon Black and White Breeding Guide, it says about this kind of thing and more :) Hope that helps.
@007mewtwo That's actually a very good point. I think when I originally tried this idea getting Pain Split was hard and once I found this method I never really considered anything else, but Curse Pain split would take them out in 2 turns so that's an amazing idea!

@alex29464 Yup! It's a great move when it can pulled off properly. Unfortunately against friends you'd need to use Mean Look but otherwise it's great, and as you correctly point out it works against Normal types too (since it's an affliction like confusion or Attraction as opposed to a move like Shadow Ball).
@theguywhosnameis Yeah. Though since it was the only thing it could do, it was technically less stupid for it to use that than to use Sing, Dream Eater or Double Edge (were those the moves I say? It's been so long that I forget now haha).
@hahasimp You didn't get the point of this video then. If you had bothered to look at the screen you would have seen this Chansey couldn't hurt me. I wouldn't have made this video hoping it would repeatedly not attack me unless it wasn't able to attack me at all, which was the whole point. It couldn't attack me so it used Defence Curl, which was the only effective thing it could do and therefore it lost.

I've forgotten all the names of the places, sorry... but it's north east of the Battle Tower in Diamond and Pearl (not Platinum) and this girl has an Ambipom, a Rapidash and that Chansey. It's just before the road to Mount Stark.

@knightrider315 Lucky Egg is a legitimate item, Chansey's have a 5% chance of holding them, not to mention in Pokémon XD they give one away for free. Loads of people have Lucky Eggs, there are even guide videos on YouTube saying how to get them. In the new Black and White games you even get given one.
on sapphire/ruby/emerald you could do this against a level 100 chansey/blissey by mixing records with a friend who had a lvl 100 chansey or blissey and then their secret base is transferred over to your game and the pokemon they had in the party is transferred with them so you can battle.
@TapeofScotch Yes, if your Blissey/Chansey had only Normal type moves and you used Ghost type you would be invincible. I discovered this Shuppet thing on LeafGreen actually, but with a Lv5 Shuppet due to hatching levels changing.

@1337sir Did you not pay attention? The whole point was that Defence Curl was all it could do, it couldn't attack me because it had no moves that could hurt me, that was the whole point of the video. Double Edge can't hurt me, Sing can't put me to Sleep and therefore Dream Eater can't hit me since I couldn't be asleep, so it could only use Defence Curl.

There is one way to put a shuppet and banette to sleep. You can teach a pokemon a move called entertainment,which changes the ability.

@Johnny956301 Yeah, this was back in the day when I only had Pearl. Now of course I have a Diamond, a Platinum and a HeartGold. I should have done it on Emerald but Will-O-Wisp wasn't a TM back in those days and I think it was more awkward to get one of my GBA games and do it on there.

@yerffoeGeoffrey777 It says in the video description my friend. Did an annotation appear saying to check the description? I'm sure in the video it says 'Check the description to find out how to get your own Shuppet' or something. It's no problem either way.

@Shadowthechaosdragon I'm not much of a strategizer for competitive battling. But I faced this gal for the Chansey experience loads (she's one of the best people in DP to battle for experience in my opinion) and noticed the moveset and thought it couldn't hurt a Ghost type minus the sleep and immediately remembered Shuppet had Insomnia. @Shadowthechaosdragon I forget the name of the route, I think it's in the description. It's after ou beat the Elite 4 in that northeastern area. I've forgotten all the names of the places, sorry... but it's north east of the Battle Tower in Diamond and Pearl (not Platinum) and this girl has an Ambipom, a Rapidash and that Chansey. It's just before the road to Mount Stark.

@knightrider315 Lucky Egg is a legitimate item, Chansey's have a 5% chance of holding them, not to mention in Pokémon XD they give one away for free. Loads of people have Lucky Eggs, there are even guide videos on YouTube saying how to get them. In the new Black and White games you even get given one.

on sapphire/ruby/emerald you could do this against a level 100 chansey/blissey by mixing records with a friend who had a lvl 100 chansey or blissey and then their secret base is transferred over to your game and the pokemon they had in the party is transferred with them so you can battle.

@TapeofScotch Yes, if your Blissey/Chansey had only Normal type moves and you used Ghost type you would be invincible. I discovered this Shuppet thing on LeafGreen actually, but with a Lv5 Shuppet due to hatching levels changing.

@theairstrife Thank you so much. I'd battled this Chansey a lot for good experience and it's weak Defence stat and once I'd learned it's moves I thought a Shuppet with Insomnia is immune, came up with a moveset and thus this video was born1 Thanks again!

@THTdinosaur If you were saying this 4 years ago I'd understand but haven't you even played the new games? Eggs hatch at Lv1 from Diamond and Pearl onwards and they've been out for like 3.5 - 4 years and this feature has been in 7 games now if you include Black and White!

@1Thunderfire No, I just used it here because it was immune to Normal attacks and its ability means it couldn't be put to sleep giving it further immunity, I've then used it in other videos to have some consistency and continuity.

@EPICGUY777 No, because the point was, Chansey couldn't attack me. It was lucky that they've put trainers in the game who can't attack a Shuppet but realising that and exploiting it wasn't lucky.

@Keranos96 Well her other 2 Pokémon are quite good, it's just the Chansey which she ruins, in all fairness, it's tons better than the other Pokémon I beat with Shuppet in other videos. I'm just very clever with this strategy, normally she can hit things with Dream Eater or Double Edge.

@TVHarman Thank you! Yes, all fair and square, Normals can't hit Ghosts and Shuppet (this Insomnia one anyway, they can also get Frisk these days) can't be put to sleep, so Dream Eater can't be used and it can't hurt me.

@1337sir Did you not pay attention? The whole point was that Defence Curl was all it could do, it couldn't attack me because it had no moves that could hurt me, that was the whole point of the video. Double Edge can't hurt me, Sing can't put me to Sleep and therefore Dream Eater can't hit me since I couldn't be asleep, so it could only use Defence Curl.

The EXP gain would have been even bigger if the Shuppet was hatched in a game from a different language speaking country and traded to your game.
