They're latch operated, with relatively common gas struts holding them up. Pretty standard for ANYTHING that opened upward back then, those gas struts were the shit.

@Iwatchtrek Actualy there really comfertable just hard to get into but hey john delorean was 6'4 and he drove it just fine and the engines were not bad engines it was just american laws that made the car drive that slow without the american laws the cars can hit 100+ no problem so maybe do some research before saying they suck
