It isn't THAT bad. The camera angles aren't good, their are too many cutaways, the transitions are choppy, the effects look dated...well maybe it is that bad.
This is sad, the CG effects were horrible, I could make better effects in a week. and what was the director thinking with those camera angles and only two extra dancers. this was probably entirely made in front of a green screen with minimal effort made regarding background quality and reality. I mean come on...the snow (im guessing its snow considering what looks like a frozen wasteland background)...it was horrible, what kind of snow falls horizontally with the dancers hardly feeling a breeze?

The other version is much better. They put to many different angles and scenes in this one to be good. Can't see what they were thinking when they made this.
I think this version lacks continuity. However, it did accomplish one thing better than the asian version, which which used more close up angles to promote her face. For a first time viewer, she was more recognizable and her image stuck better than the asian version which did not show alot of her face. I guess she is already recognized in asia, but not in the states.
I liked BoA's solo freestyle in this version better. Other than those few precious seconds tho, this mv totally sucked... The director took the lyrics "eat you up alive" and "creature of the night" way too seriously... I hate how BoA looks in that awful PVC vampire wannabe costume. She's so pretty, why'd the director have to stick her in a halloween outfit? Their clothes budget must've been really low...

Watching this version of the mv did not give me a good enough impression to watch boa's US work ever again. I was relieved to find that there was Cha Eun Taek's version - now that, was AWESOME. yes, i saw the US version first. (How dreadful.)
In that version she was less exposed, and given better choreography, storyline and dancers to work with.
There was even real place settings! Yes, more than one! Choreography and storyline in Cha Eun Taek's version let boa and her dancers make use of space given to them. viewers of the mv are able to see footwork down hallways, short staircases, a road and dance room. The footwork was made greater a spectacle followed by glass shattering, a dropping chandelier, and indoor rain accompanied by the looks and reactions of dance school judges in the storyline. Everything came to a blowout ending.

The other version is much better. They put to many different angles and scenes in this one to be good. Can't see what they were thinking when they made this.

I think this version lacks continuity. However, it did accomplish one thing better than the asian version, which which used more close up angles to promote her face. For a first time viewer, she was more recognizable and her image stuck better than the asian version which did not show alot of her face. I guess she is already recognized in asia, but not in the states.

I liked BoA's solo freestyle in this version better. Other than those few precious seconds tho, this mv totally sucked... The director took the lyrics "eat you up alive" and "creature of the night" way too seriously... I hate how BoA looks in that awful PVC vampire wannabe costume. She's so pretty, why'd the director have to stick her in a halloween outfit? Their clothes budget must've been really low...
Go BoA though, I hope you do a concert in San Francisco!!!

Actually they only labelled it version 1 and version 2. It's just the people online who put Asian version and North American Version.
So luckily the first verson (North American) will be the promo for the world. The second one, vid, I think will also be on the cd.

Yes. Although SM will say otherwise, there are currently no plans to air this music video on any network in North America as far am I'm informed. All that's lined up is the Eun Tak Cha directed version.

Wow....they picked such a crappy director...what the heck is this, it looks like she recorded it in ther living room and then CGed/photoshopped it on her computer. THANK GOD for the Korean version and for SM giving up on this MV.

She speaks English you know...she's been learning since she was 14. On top of that, Japanese and Chinese, and who knows what else. Besides, what kind of person would just sing a song and memorize it without even looking into a translation if they didn't know the language? Why even sing it...

yeah i agree. it's not the best american mv i've seen.. i watched the making of this mv and boa didnt look too thrilled (or maybe she was just tired from all the hard work). lol at least the official version isnt this one. i really hope that she succeeds here. can't wait!

truthfully, this american version looks so cheaply made. the backdrop must've cost ten bucks and w/e was necessary for an empty room to spill paint all over the floor - like wow, that was so creative, you really put a lot of effort to make this mv work. omg how fresh - we've never seen a pinup moon or scraper before. sarcasm, sorry.
It seems sexist and a bit racist to drastically alter BoA's choreography into crap compared to the asian version. i mean she's barely dancing in about have the foot

age of this version, and half that time she's only flaunting her looks (that is 3-5 outfits including hairstyle with different sexually suggestive movements and poses). And those looks aren't even original, i've seen plenty of female artists sing and dance in at least 2 of the familiar outfits and hair she had. i say it's racist because it turns out this is not the first time a US promo fails to point out a foreign artist's full potential.
the US really needs to improve how they promote singers

internationally, america's music industry is thinking too hard about blending an artist into their culture and this effects the quality of such work.
Watching this version of the mv did not give me a good enough impression to watch boa's US work ever again. I was relieved to find that there was Cha Eun Taek's version - now that, was AWESOME. yes, i saw the US version first. (How dreadful.)
In that version she was less exposed, and given better choreography, storyline and dancers to work with.

There was even real place settings! Yes, more than one! Choreography and storyline in Cha Eun Taek's version let boa and her dancers make use of space given to them. viewers of the mv are able to see footwork down hallways, short staircases, a road and dance room. The footwork was made greater a spectacle followed by glass shattering, a dropping chandelier, and indoor rain accompanied by the looks and reactions of dance school judges in the storyline. Everything came to a blowout ending.
