JM really liked this one by Jonathan and apparently said that he would produce it for Jonathan. And in the end asked Jonathan if he could play guitar over the record.

I just listened to the recording and that's definitely not the case.

You can hear John on and off for the last minute and a half of the song.

It's a lot like his usual style of soloing (i.e. the guitar solo fading in and out at the end of songs--Gravity, Slow Dancing In A Burning Room, etc.).

Also, Mayer produced the song, so I'm sure he approved.

I think John's playing blends perfectly with the song.

Anyway, it's Jonathan Carr's product, not John Mayer's.

He can do what he wants.

I was actually offered a place at a music college here after my teacher walked in on me playing the piano and was impressed.
