  • OMG,they'd removed this one, and,I LOVED it! .SO glad it is back with this song,it's perfect! Plus the scenes were fantastic.1:14 when Maggie's father sees her and 2:02 when the drama shifts,GREAT!

  • I'm so glad it's back up, too! This is among my personal faves, of the videos I've made. *giddy* It's honestly no fair that they keep muting and taking down our vids! It's not like we're making a profit! We're just trying to have fun and entertain one another, right? :)

Ohh, I DO so love this song! At the time, my little daughter watched Anastasia over and over! Once I finally paid attn to the lyrics, I was like, "Oh, that's Maggie." Couldn't resist making a vid. Glad you likes!! :)

  • YAY!!! Glad to see the audio back in place in this one. :D Huzzah!

  • it's kinda sad how they wrote out maggie's character in the show with her going to a mental hospital

  • From what I can recall, I think Dan Curtis did that deliberately b/c KLS had decided to leave the show. That's what I read, at least. I thought that was a bit of a cop-out, myself. Then again, I would have preferred she stayed on the show. She was great.

  • Nice clips, even without the audio. There was a point on the show--about 1969?-- when Maggie did remember what Barnabas had done to her. It was during the Vampire Angelique storyline when Joe Haskall was under Angelique's thrall, and I think either Angelique or Nicholas Blair made Maggie lose her memory again. LOL!

  • Thx! :) You're right! She did remember. Sad that she wasn't able to retain those memories. The first time she remembered and even came CLOSE to being a threat to Barnabas, Julia did the memory wipe. Then, I guess it was Nicholas? It's been a while... :) Poor Maggie! With all those memory wipes, I wonder if she was doomed to experience any long term effects... and honestly, what would Barnabas have done had she remembered a third time?

  • Those freaking bastards! What I don't get is how stupid they are when they decide to randomly mute a vid. This song is not just here. Pisses me off. Now I have to be careful with my own song choices for vids. UGH!

  • I CAN'T believe that these goobers have disabled the audio after all the time this video has been up.

  • What!?? Noooo! :( I might have to post it elsewhere and give you guys the link. Btw, thanks for commenting here about it. I wouldn't have known. They didn't even have the decency to send me a warning.

  • When you do this please let us know,I really liked this one!

  • This was nicely done. Perfect song for a tormented soul. I think KLS was so lovely in the part of Maggie Evans.

  • jonathan frid didn't sit for his barnabas portrait they left the face blank until he was hired

  • very true i think the portrait in the orginal is just of some woman

  • It was! Before KLS was set to play Josette, they had someone else sit for the painting-- or at least that's what I heard. Would it have been too much for them to get it repainted just a bit?

I'm a fan of both the original and the revival. The revival was my first DS, btw. :) But I totally loved Josette's portrait in the second one. Wish I could paint like that! *hehe*

  • at least in the revival the portrait looks like joestte/vicki

  • Exactly!! I always thought they should have had the portrait repainted to look like KLS. That at least would have made sense.

  • I remember this when you were doing this scene at one of the DS fests. Very nice, good song choice.

  • Oh, Memories...I have sung this song for so many auditions... lol...

I love it! It works great for Maggie! But I wish I knew where my Anastasia movie was now!

    Awesome job!!!

  • Auditions? Wow. I didn't know you sang!

I cannot tell you how many times my daughter has made me sing this for her. She even makes me play the video. Anastacia is her favorite cartoon these days... er... besides Barbie's Mermaidia-- and I can thank my Mom for that. *grumbles* :-p ~DJ

  • Oh yeah, I'm always singing. It's the second thing I do most (after dancing...well maybe after editing...I don't know!lol). Oh, I LOVE Anastasia! I remember going to see it when it was in the theater. Those animated Barbies kind of creep me out, I think they had some weird Barbie Swanlake ballet video where they used blue screen with real dancers--freaky! I never saw it, but I saw a clip of it and it was a little demented looking. I think I'll just stick with the doll and skip the video! lol

  • great job!

  • brilliant!!

  • That looks like some stock "Southern Belle" portraits that you can buy at the furniture stores,I have one myself that would have been better !

  • I always wondered why they could'nt have gotten a portrait that looked a lot more like "Josette"/Maggie/ect.

  • I agree! Would it have killed them to have had someone paint a new portrait containing KLS instead? I guess they just got lazy with it. :\

  • oooh I just love this!!! I've always loved this song and it completely fits the clips! Awesome work!

  • Bravo & kudos to the soundtrack! Absolute genius! As a "Dark Shadows" cultist, Maggie Evans was always my favorite, and her kidnapping by Barnabas to make her his "new" Josette is the storyline I remember most. Whoever came up with the idea of the soundtrack to this compilation ought to be paid residuals! Sheer genius!

  • Wonderful video,scenes,and music!!!

  • This is awesome!!

  • Thanks!! :-D

  • It's perfect how the video is put together. Great video. The song works so well.

  • I love that song. great song for the video. Brilliant. nice job

  • DJas118-

I personally would have never dreamed of using "Once upon a december" with Dark shadows, but you did and it worked! Ending the video on Josette's tombstone was just perfect^^

  • I love this video. Great song to go with the theme of this arc of DS.

  • Rachel, I so agree!! Sadly, I don't own the DVDs with Kitty. I haven't even seen all of her story. :) I also sort of wanted to make it a bit more sinister. Maggie had no idea whether her underlying memories were good ones or bad ones. All she knew was that they haunted her. As she struggled to remember, only shards of it shone among her clouded memories. That's why I figured this song went well for her, as well. :)

  • very good choice of music.

  • Ooh, that was SO cool! ^-^ I especially loved all the ending bits where it switched from color to BW -- all of the scenes used were nicely portrayed in quick glimpses so that it really WAS like she was receiving hodgepodges of memories. Neat ;0P

  • poor maggie evans suffered the tortures of the damned...not even joe could save her from all of it....and to think she got hoodwinked into getting married to Nicholas Blair

  • Very wonderfully done, DJ! I love what you'd done!

  • Oh, yeah! Willie's awesome!

I actually tried to balance things out a bit btwn Joe and Willie here, giving Joe a bit of credit for his devotion to her during that time. I only featured him for a few measly seconds, tho. What can I say? It's not Joe/Maggie I'm ga-ga over. lol. ;) ~DJ

  • Well done! Perfect choice of music.

  • Thx, Amber! I taped the movie Anastasia for my daughter a few months ago. Only a couple of days ago did I notice the lyrics to this song and couldn't help but think of Maggie's whole ordeal. :) ~DJ
