  • @joessj5 the fat in your body is stored for later for whenever you need energy. So if you go in starvation mode, your fat will be used as energy after muscle has been used first, thats why fasting is a bad way to lose weight because you lose all the good weight(muscle) first, so you're going to be all flabby lol

  • that was super helpful :D! thanks!!

  • Hello just want to commend your video I hope that you could assist me all through out school.

  • If you have any Fat on your body, you have energy? WHOA!!!!

  • You are amazing, sir! Thanks so much!

  • helped with krebs cycle and citric alanine glycolysis oxaloacetate-pyruvate rolls and fates ....though i cant remember the enzymes

  • THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!

  • you are the bomb! this makes my understanding so crystal clear loves it!

  • Biochem exam this week - this is a life saver, awesome stuff!

  • Ur visa are too longgg

  • "Maybe we have some... Not maybe, this is what happens." Lol but really, great video. Helping me understand & remember this for my biology exam. I'm a Comp Sci major in college, so I have a hard time retaining much about biology.

  • if your too smart why can't you make the concepts easier....

  • You sir, have a talent for explaining and clarifying!

    Thanks alot!!!

  • this helps so much... im a 2nd semester sophomore biology major and this video finally made the krebs cycle click for me, i've taken 4-5 upper level bio classes where the krebs cycle was tested on and now i get it haha so thanks:)

  • im in college and this helps me more than the professor does sometimes...hell, he's the one that suggested khan academy

  • yes, bio exam! This is a dream come true!

  • 2:05 it's mike from monters inc!

  • shits getting complex

  • What software do you use?

  • i love penis

  • Watched this today, had my bio test yesterday... epic fail.

  • This man explains everthing so well. I can't live without him.

  • Thanks for this because my physiology instructor rushed over this and not very many people in my class really understood the process

  • fun.

  • u make me fall in luv with the things i used to hate!!!!.Funny!! :P..now i get it tat u shd not judge the topic by the way they teach in yo class juzt like how you shd not judge a buk by its cover!! :D

  • my bio teacher has a monotone voice and it makes me do terrible

  • i wish u were my bio teacher

  • Thank you :)

    very good

  • I dated a girl named Christa...she was complicated

  • Comment removed

  • who else is watching this for their bio exam?!

  • @polk304 lol me

  • @polk304 Krebs Cycle is the spawn of satan.

  • biochm too

  • @polk304 me...

  • @polk304 why else would someone watch this video? lol

  • @ccamaro2009 just for the hell of it lol :p

  • thank you! It's great to listen to someone who loves this topic and really knows how to explain it.

  • I love your voice... It's sexy and soothing at the same time ;)

  • They're just like lessons :O

    Except I understand these....

  • glad everyone this found it BEFORE their test... I found it after. lol. Oh if only I just watched this instead of spending 5 hours deciphering the words in my bio textbook. Thanks for these awesome videos

  • Thank you so much! Perhaps now I can pass 9th grade Bio after all. :)

  • Thank you so much, thanks to you, I don't think I'll have to retake biology :)

  • are you God?

  • @fetusdeletus knowledge is power...

  • I have no idea why I'm here i was watching mw2 vid mow I'm here

  • Ah education, I was laying bricks before I watched this because I have an advanced biochemistry exam in 48 hours but now I think I can manage it :)

    Many thanks!

  • what kinda software you use to creat this video.. I mean how you write so nice with mouse

  • Exactly what i needed for my IB class!! I thought i was supposed ta have this shit in college...NOPE! I get it in HIgh School XD

  • so..detailed and learnable :)

  • Saw you on CNN two nights ago with Fareed Zakahria

  • I was desperate when I found this video 20 minutes before bio exam, and I got passed easily :-) thanks

  • Ty for nice vid! :)

  • wow. need i say more?

  • test thursday. this made everything so simple. and like everyone has mentioned, you explained week's worth of notes. THANK YOU!

  • You saved me i have a test 2morrow

  • you iz godz. 3 hours of studying in 15 min. :D

  • You iz godz

  • I have the exam of biology. thanks to this video the things are now clear for me...

  • thank you very much !!!!!! <3

  • Excellent

  • 23 people fail at biology.

  • There is no ATP formed in the CAC, it's GTP.

  • @Taggra He mentioned why he called it ATP instead of GTP at the end

  • Can anyone help me? When NAD is reduced on the wikipedia diagram he shows at the end, it is shown to form NADH and an H+ ion. Where does this come from? Is it part of the process of reducing NAD? Thanks if you can help!!

  • all hail this video!

  • FINALS WEEK GAHH COME AT ME BIO haha

  • i love these vids, my biology teacher showed us one to help us understanding the topic. at that moment he lost my interest in his lessons and my willing to take notes. i'll stick to your vids intead :DD

  • thanx man

  • thanks!

  • i can understand it better than what my lecturer taught me.. thanks for making this vid... now i can prepare for my test tomorrow and next week exam.... =)

  • You have such nice hand writing

  • @hairdyelove Especially for mouse writing goddamn.

  • Nice display

  • Life-saver for finals!

  • YOU ARE AMAZING!! Wow that was like a good drink of cold water for me.. My head was about to explode from looking at all my messy notes!!

  • not entirely sure I got all this, but I'm pretty sure it's the best explanation I'm ever going to get!

  • if i ever get rich in the future... i am giving you a HUGE donation. you have helped me pass bio and organic chemistry

  • AMMMMMMMMMMMAAAZING ..U SAVED MY FINAL TOMMOROW!

  • my savior<3

  • i love that i can simply download this on to my ipod touch in like a minute because he is nice enough to put the download button in the description:)

  • this is was great study guide for my biology exam, thank you... very creative

  • Much more easily understood than Tortora & Derrickson! Thank you so much! :)

  • nice vid

  • AWESOMEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

  • i am passing my test because of you! thank you very much!!!

  • thank you soo much, evry website said that krebs produced 6 atp, and then said : therefore produced 8, i was like "WHAT?!" but NOW i see that the pyruvates are what they were counting! thank you soo much :D

  • excellent .thank you

  • Our book had pyruvate processing involving the synthesis of acetyl CoA as a separate step, but this works, too.

  • :)yeppp

  • CCC

  • My mistake. I did not watch the full video before commenting.

  • Great job this really helped... But no ATP is actually produced in the Krebs Cycle. Instead GDP is converted into GTP and the phosphate group in GTP is later transferred to ADP to form ATP.

  • briliant

  • Wow! This is wonderful! Thank you so much for providing this resource!

  • THNX VERY MUCH :) THIS HELPED A LOT

  • There are 6 carbon dioxides produced after the 2 turns of the cycle?

  • You saved my life. Marry me!

  • You saved my life. Marry me!

  • Bless you, sir. (:

  • You just saved my life :p

  • Haha your videos are perfect for cramming the night before. Thanks man, I've been reviewing the whole cellular respiration process for a while and this is the first time it's really made any sense :)

  • LOL "Not maybe, this is what happens."

  • Thank you so much. It's really working. Easily getting into my mind. Arghh later I no need to refer my textbook again which is much more complicated. thanks again dude.

  • Wow thank you so much! I covered this in my sophmore level anatomy and physiology class- online and what a great help this clip was =) Once again THANK YOU!!!

  • I need more detail than this :(

  • I think the reason you are better at teaching than teachers is because you repeat what the terms are and you take your time. Teachers just rush the stuff.

  • Great vid! Thank you!

  • Thank you for your wonderful lesson,

  • "not maybe, THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS" i love this guy

  • in the preparation step for krebs, isn't there should be release of CO2, production of NADH and intake of CoA?

  • This is a great video, I just want to add that nowdays more biochemists take 2.5 ATP molecules per NADH and 1.5 ATP molecules per NADH2...if you do that calculation the net result will be 32 ATP total

  • I understand that NAD+ is the oxidized form of NADH, so in other words NADH is the reduced form of NAD+...just saying...FAD is reduced when it becomes FADH2

  • wow, thank you SO much! I was so enthusiastic about learning biology from khan academy that I just youtubed to see if khan academy had the calc topics I was learning, and it did!!!! I'll definitely be prepared for school tomorrow... wow I have never been this excited about learning.

  • I LEARNED HOW STUFF WORKS NOW.

  • Awesome video, thx a lot. I think it is really important to look at all these things happening in the cells step by step so it doesn't get to complicated. You are doing a great job teaching these things to a lot of people.

Does anyone knoe where the preparation step takes place? mitochondria matrix/ outer cell-department or outside the mitochondria?

  • BRAIN BLAST!!

  • My syllabus chops off glycolysis and breakdown of pyruvate 0.0

  • Unfortunately, my professor requests I memorize every structure, byproduct, enzyme, output, of glycolysis, fatty acid metabolism, the pentophosphate pathway, and aminoacid metabolism (as well as reversal - catabolism). I'm so happy for tomorrow (my test). Stroke? Heartattack? MURDER?

  • @HelloBrainMind stroke? lol

  • This 17minute video taught me a weeks worth of notes....

  • cool man this is helpful so i could improve my grade

  • the stage between glycolysis and Kreb's Cycle is called the link reaction

  • @14boe my textbook calls it the pyruvate oxidation, i guess both would work

  • OMG!! finally!!...i really understand the krebs cycle

  • OMG! Mind Asplode! I actually understood the diagram from wikipedia.

  • Damn, if only I had known of this sooner; I just finished botany. Have you anything on zoology?

  • THANK YOU. Saving my ass =p

  • You are simply amazing.

  • I clappd extra loud, once I found out what happens to the cleaved C.. its taken by O2 and becomes CO2:)

  • And by the way, your videos are super helpful. You rock man!!!

  • can you do a video on beta oxidation and deamination

  • you're the best!

  • I've been taking online college classes (chemistry, anatomy and physiology) for over a year now and I truly think they're better than on-campus classes. Just an opinion based on experience. This instructor sure has my attention and I will be a loyal subscriber.

  • what is the name of the app u r using to give ur lesson?

  • I enjoy your presentations and find them to be very helpful:) Do you teach somewhere?

  • You are ready to jump into... "THE KREBS CYCLE"

  • LOVE KHAN ACADEMY!

  • life saver!

  • i love you

  • WOW. i am so grateful for finding this video. Now i think my group & i can nail this presentation (=

  • This. is. amazing. I've been sitting here staring at my textbook for an hour, he teaches it to me in 10 minutes.

  • Not once have I sat here and said ... 'I don't get it' a common phrase when I'm in a biology lecture ...lol you're awesome!

  • God bless you! give this man a nobel prize!

  • I swear this helps a lot!

  • that was beautiful

  • and your drawings are also sick man!!

  • wow. youre TRULY AMAZING. i love you
