I doubt they're anoxexic, if there were...they wouldn't have the strenth to do that. Ballerinas are mostly all skinny because the dancing requiers alot of working out and it does burn caleries. ON the other hand there's loads of ballerinas who are as good as them which are over weight...
I agree with you except the last part. Honestly, there are several things in ballet that you can't do nearly as well at a higher weight. That's no one's fault, that's just the nature of the style.

They're not anorexic. When they audition for the academy, they select the girls which have natural ballet bodies and natural everything. They select girls that are close to "perfect".
They also look at the parents to see the bodies they have.
@beena001 What is not the difference between Vaganova and RAD? I think the only think they have in common is the fact that both of them call themselves Ballet. Unfortunately, only one of them are... (No offence, anyone)
wow people dont get so sore! Can someone post a non-bashing opinion these days?
I was just saying, since their core was so strong to lift the legs so high, I would think it would be sronger in center, thats all. These girls are amazing, duh.
these girls are so strong, extentions, technique. But their core strength and stability is sooo poor. They didnt do one releve or pirouette without wobbling or falling down. I would think they would be alot stronger in that aspect.
I do, 8-10 hours a day, 6 days a week. I started my training strict Vaganova, now I do Balanchine. Like I said in my new post (please see it) it's like no one can post non-bashing opinions anymore. :( It's sad how people take such offense.
I trained in a school briefly (I am a late ballet starter, but now I train in a pre-pro school) that had all teacher who graduated from the school in russia. I only trained one year there so I am not very familiar with how the how silibus works.
So no, I wouldnt know their exact age since I only trained Vaganova method for a short while. I am in level 5 out of the 6 in our pre-professional program.
It's just, hopping and wobbling is very bad and can lead to injury. I didnt mean to sound cruel
The level is way above what my daughter did for her RAD grade 6 exam. Guess she would have loved being able to do this!

They're great but anorexic... They won't make any longer if they don't start eating. I know what I'm talking about...

No... you really don't know what you're talking about, haha. I'm sorry, but what they're doing takes a lot of back, leg and stomach muscle.

Does anyone know why Vaganova did petit adagio immediately followed by tendu battement au milieu?
revoltade 4 years ago
It is an exam, so the combos are set and practiced ahead of the actualy exam. I am sure they are all properly warmed up. :)

They are 16 here, so in year 5, they are 15 (at the exams). When they start the year in year 5, they are 14.

Ilya Ballet! Fantastic videos! Do you have the total class? I am a big Vaganova fan, although only from an academic point of view nowadays.
