I have this game. It is a good game. I love the title defense mode. All of the boxers are a lot harder. Glass Joe will even beat you (in title defense). I lost on him a couple of times in that mode.

The remixed version of the 8-bit theme suits the game so perfectly, it's like they had this in mind when making the original punch out. This is one of the best retro remixes I have ever heard.

My favourite NES game. What pisses me off is that I owned the cart, then I lent it out and that ex friend of mine traded it in somewhere. I got the VC version but I kinda want the cart again just for nostalgia.

well, i mean, he was the main character in Punch-Out for NES and Super Punch-Out for SNES. If you've ever played those games, you would be a little confused if they let you choose different fighters to use in this game. Little Mac is all you need!

Boxing on Wii Sports is downright terrible. This Punch-Out game is a game that has been around for 20 years and is considered a nintendo classic. You should try to play the original one for the NES, I doubt you could beat it. I know I can't.

Let's hope not. Most of the fighters from SPO were lackluster to say the least. All points indicate that the Wii version will place heavy emphasis on the original NES Punch Out. That's a good thing in my book. Nintendo is clearly going for the nostalgia appeal here and most game players from the 80's will more likely recognize the fighters from Punch Out(NES) than they will from Super Punch Out on the SNES.

From what Nintendo thinks Super Punch Out was a mistake. Not only cause you weren't Mac but the gameplay was kinda dumb and the game in general just wasn't nearly as fun as Punch out. Its just going to be all of Punch Out's original characters with several new ones. (Mr. Dream instead of Tyson obviously)
