Sian Lindemann from Art Ability World suggested that I look at your video Mardi.
I love that you have made one art form, the video from another art from, your painting. The video is so intriguing: Love the play of light on structured and organic forms.
You have always been a beautiful person Mardi with great talent and great depth a long way from tiny dragons emerging from rock eggs giggles! It is wonderful to see the blossoms on your vine. Blessings
Thats' cool - in the related video's Alex Grey video came up 2nd - I just did an Art intensive workshop with him...he isn't mentioned in my tags so that's quite a coincidence...considering the millions of vids on U2B...
Beautiful, bewitching. But the video is very different from the painting. The pans and the camera focus tell my eye where to look, highlighting what the eye behind the camera sees to be important. The music also predisposes me to experience the visual creation in a certain way. So for me this is a collaboration between painter, musician, photographer and me, rather than simply between painter and me. This makes it perhaps a richer, more complex experience than that of responding to a painting.
Nothing more could of been done to perfect this recording. Its absolutely lovely Mardi! Geniouse! The picture itself, Music, water transformations... Wholeness of purity in so many feelings, emotions, ( like electricity flowing) Really enjoyed it! Gratefull you created this and, allowed me to witness it. Thank you. I cant put my feelings into words?
...one painting was a collaboration between myself (a woman) and another Artist, Rodrick Quinn (head sculptor on the Movie Fantastic Four and others - a man)...
Actually,
the music/singer is Lisa Gerrard
of Dead Can Dance

Hmmm...very good point.
Experiencing the painting live is very different - especially due to the scale - in the video the detail is lost on the long shots - it is 8 feet.
The music is the soundtrack from Gladiator - the photographer, painter and editor are all the same person - me
:D

There are some great comments from my FB friends I would like to post :
From Sunny Savage:

- concepts of novelty, newness, invention, usefulness, attractiveness and originality that have a definite path to a meaningful solution. 2:40
I think.

Organic/inorganic.
The co-existance, conflict, intermingling and dissolution of the distinction between.

ooooooooohhhh that's good! Can I use that?
helixscape 2 years ago
Of course.
But you have all ready "used" it. It is inherent in the work.
