  • Had the Blazers drafted him, they'd have won at least 1 championship and played at least 3 Finals.

    .

  • Damn Chuck's suit is just Turrible!

  • Damn....Those Donuts did him in

  • Barkleys suit------- LOL

  • Damn, I don't mean to toot my own horn but 2 and a half years ago, before all the lebron leaving cleveland shit when LBJ was on top of the world, I said on this very thread that Lebron would never win an NBA championship. You all called me crazy then. Who looks crazy now?

  • portland should've drafted him

  • greatest nigga to e4 play the game

  • Hitler used to host the draft?

  • I guess he did learn a lot from Marc Ivaroni!! ha!!

  • yeah man he said the n word

  • Pronounces "Great leaper" as "Great lipper" smh @ you guys

  • @nvy858 haha yeah man

  • @nvy858 get a sense of humor (:

  • wait, so is he related to dwyane wade?

  • :) I love charles

and how sweet is he, thanking God, his mom and grandma!

  • The Chuckster, one of the best.

  • I think he says pick-up not nigger

  • lol "I don't eat a lot, just all the time" such a typical Barkley quote :-)

  • that is SIR Charles Barkley

  • if they would have said nigger again at this time ESPN would have hopped on that. Like lebron's dick

  • 6'6 my ass!! lol

  • @dalexispe Um, thats his height, glad you're amused though.

  • sounds like the barkley on inside the nba

  • Nice pick.. solid player as well.... enjoyed watching him ... Him and my boy Kemp battled many times.... To bad the NBA has cheating refs!!! cough cough... 1993 Western conference finals!! cough cough...

  • Three legends on the same team?! Did they ever win a championship together??

  • @smithfan22 No.

  • he's a really funny guy btw. I love his comments :)

  • With the 5 pick in 1984 NBA draft TNT select CHUCK from T-Moble Comercial...

    Sorry about my English...

  • if you're gonna look at these now most of you could've thought the addition of barkley will help the 76ers win multiple championships because of the additional firepower that he'll provide but alas bird and magic prevented it from happening.

  • @bonzie1645 no management traded away mosses, toni became hurt, and Dr. J was about to retire because he was on the downside of his career.

  • Barkley was picked at 5.... are you in my five?

  • 1:24 i think he said "He has just a great record"

  • did he just say....hes just a great "nigger"/?

  • Kevin Love plays alot like this guy....

  • @Broncos88surehands love isnt as good a ball handler, or athlete, but they are both great scorers and rebounders

  • @Broncos88surehands a slower and heavier version of charles but as efficient as him.

  • Charles Barkley had hair?

  • Hopefully he will be a good player, the 76ers need him

  • Jazzy management South!

  • how can he jump like that when he has extra weight?! crazy

  • @thes1KK insane

  • was he skinny here?

  • @lebronshaqfaction 6'6 272.....that is pretty big for that height

  • LMFAO "Tipping the scales at 300lbs!" How much does he weigh today?!

Still at 6'4.5 he achieved a hell of alot at his size. Lots of magazines and online articles say he was that height, and not the listed 6'6.

If you look at alot of photos, Jordan (6'6) is definitely taller than him, and Barkley is only a shade taller over Gary Payton. (6'4)

  • The 1984 NBA Draft is the most talented rookie class ever.

  • @TheVinzius i think 03'

  • @MrGangsta20010

naw man 96'.....A.I, steve nash, kobe, ray allen HOF and so many all star picks and even ben wallace (who was not even drafted)

  • hah charles barkley is a fat coon

  • What if Barkley would have been taller? Like 6'9"? Would it have hurt his mobility and his bulldog-like-approach or would he have been even better?

  • number 3 was jordan and number 1 olajuwan what a draft

  • @dmshoes HAHAH I HEARD IT, HE SAYS BARKLEY IS JUST GREAT NIGGER. much love to sir chalres tho :)

  • @tdubbcdman Your parents must be so proud.

  • @southrules Thank you for your input.

  • @dmshoes what! really?

  • @alfonzolamar Lol,i dont know man.Sounds like u know what.Im sure its not that though lol.

  • @dmshoes ahahah WORD. I think he may be trying to say "leaper."

  • @dmshoes

He said "he's just a great wrecker". I guess he wrecks havoc on the boards.

  • @dmshoes I think he says "Leaper" but thats debatable lol

  • My childhood hero. A role-model.

  • david stern , look @ how decent u look in this video, & now well, just give up as a comissioner, just die already like Al davis, lol

  • 2:19 First of all LOL

  • at 1:24 sounds like the announcer says the N word

  • lmao @ david stern with that porno mustache

  • Damn, guess this guy always had some weight problems.

  • @TheMatt20131 He was called the "round mound of rebound at the time" But during the peak of his career he was actually in very good shape.

  • 300 lb?

  • Have you guys noticed how Joe Johnson looks like a young Charles Barkley?

  • David Stern needs to retire. He's ruined the NBA

  • @codymorton1 Are you talking about the change of rules of the NBA? I guess you're talking about the lack of quality in general now...but can you say exactly what you mean pleasE?

  • @WorldOfSnakes Lack of quality in general now! Its awful!

  • @codymorton1 I agree so much...but I also think things go in cycles, so good basketball will come back eventually.

  • Comment removed

  • Damn, listen to a young Sir Charles. Such a southern gentleman; humble, well-spoken, and self-aware.

  • HAha! Look at that mustache!

  • now he eats alot of taco bell

  • @Baddestmudafukaz that's not turrable.

  • sick yo thekingofpimpin this is good if you want to learn how to dunk you have to take a look at this - "50inch vertical (dot) com"

let me know if you're interested thekingofpimpin

NBA Draft 1984 - Charles Barkley (Pick NO.5) kxhyzcddo eslpycuekorweokxr #thekingofpimpin

  • one of the best not no mj but good

  • Great vid!!

  • "First of all" lmao barkleys signature phrase

  • Was that David Stern?

  • stern looks exactly the same

  • Dr. J, Moses Malone & Barkley should've won like 5 titles.

  • wait a second, he was 300 lbs on his draft day?

  • @james040280 yep

  • Charles is going to lose the bounds in 110 games. LOL!!!!

  • thekingofpimpin that is why like NBA perhaps even though it has its flaws. I am using this workout routine that's used by NBA players - (50 inch vertical [dot] com) - I am already jumping higher and dominating on the court!

  • What did the commentator say at 1:24-1:26?? I think that I must be hearing it wrong... I sure hope that I am hearing it wrong, but I played back about ten times and still heard it the same way as the first time... But I must be wrong... Someone else please confirm what you hear. Thanks

  • @1969TOF I don't think he said nigger if thats what your thinking

  • @7tupac7Killuminati7 Okay - thanks. I was hoping not. It is such a hateful word, I'm disappointed whenever I hear/see it.... Anyway, thanks for your response.

  • @1969TOF ''he is just a great nigger'' he says

  • @1969TOF I replayed that part over and over and over again countless times, even with my earphones on at a high volume. I don't hear him saying what you think he's saying. The emphasis in the word just isn't there. I keep hearing something along the lines like "leopard."

Barkley played for Auburn in high school and their mascot was the tiger. Tigers and leopards come from the same family so maybe that's what he was referring to.

  • @1969TOF lol he says NIGGER!!

  • he even admitted he wasn't a good defensive player. Great player but his defense was the problem, not his weight

  • #VIDEOPOSTERID#, oftentimes I force myself to remind myself of what it was like well before I was able to dunk in bball. After I used the training system at | 50 inch vertical [dot] com | - my skills has been increasing dramatically I'm not a bench player anymore!

NBA Draft 1984 - Charles Barkley (Pick NO.5)

  • thekingofpimpin crazy vid, reminds me of someone I know - me - haha. I'm five'six and I am able to dunk. I used the real nba training workout that real nba players use. Check out the program at - (50 inch vertical [dot] com)

NBA Draft 1984 - Charles Barkley (Pick NO.5)

  • is there anybody else rather than just thekingofpimpin tried the nba training program for dunking and shooting? Even players like Ray Allen have made use of it before. If you have no clue what I'm saying, here 50inch vertical[dot]com

NBA Draft 1984 - Charles Barkley (Pick NO.5)

  • thekingofpimpin, is 5 7, American and can dunk easily. what do you mean white guys can t jump? It s (just|simply|all)# about the training people do to get their leg strength to be strong enough to dunk. For me, I just used the training workout over at (50 inch vertical [dot] com)

  • thekingofpimpin, I love playing basketball. I am simply 5'5 and I can dunk! I just took this workout at (50 inch vertical [dot] com) - anyone can do it

NBA Draft 1984 - Charles Barkley (Pick NO.5)

  • dont eat a lot, but all the time... haha

  • 90's grunge for ever i woudldnt say best singing voice i would give that 2 kurt cobain but definely love him

  • so skinny............. so chubby............

  • He sounds exactly the same now....lol

  • LOL. "I dont eat alot, just all the time". Surprised he didn't end that prick with the pizza comment.

He never became a defender or lost the weight but still IMO a top 25 player all time. When healthy I felt he was the better all around player compared to the mailman

  • always david stern we dont wanna see hım anymore

  • Amazing.

    Thanks for posting !!

  • sucks he never won a championship.

  • @123theater1

    I doesn"t just suck.

    its terrrrble..

still a legend in his own right..

  • @cjpatz Winning a championship is overrated as a status of players greatness. If I had to pick a PF to start a team, would I take Duncan over Barkley or Malone? No way in hell. Sure Timmy got a billion titles, but he didn't have to play with Felton Spencer or Charles Shackleford either. Winning titles has a lot to do with talent, of course you need to perform on a high level when you get to the playoffs. Barkley sure did that, especially during his only Finals appearance.

  • @75samuel75 I LOVE Barkley and Malone is a legit contender for best PF ever, and i do agree that the championship winning thing is over rated as far as judging greatness in a player BUT Tim Dincan is one of the all-time greats. You are not giving him NEARLY enough credit. He is a 2 time MVP too and was robbed, IMO, in 99 when Malone was given a token second MVP. Duncan is the one PF I'd take over Malone if building a team. Probably the only one.

  • @mamacornettesmoney me too tim duncan is the only power forward i can think of when it comes to building a team from scratch.

  • @123theater1 He never won a championship because a guy named Jordan.

  • @123theater1 he shouldn't because he eats too much chips..

  • @123theater1 ???...there are ALWAYS (every team got at least one of this type) bench-players who win one ring (or more!)...you say that Sir Charles worths less than a ring winning bench player???....Ewing, Karl Malone, LeBron, Howard, etc, etc.....etc...etc...

  • @123theater1

Obviously you never saw a basketball game from the 80's-90's

  • u can include Rodman on that list

  • Charles wud eat up Lebron n Artest much like he used to do to Malone n the whole damn league!

  • Comment removed

  • @reh629 which 2nd rounders from 88 are among the "all time greats"...Steve Kerr? Vernon Maxwell? hmmmm....

  • I mean shaq is what 300 pounds during 2001? Thats almost charles size from 85-95 and he was way quicker than Shaq. Moved like lightening

  • Greatest Draft class of all time. Hakeem, MJ, Charles, John Stockton

  • @willsmackyoudown

Definitely up there with 96 (Kobe, Nash, Iverson, Ray Allen, Jermaine Oneal, Marbury, Peja, etc...) and 03 (Lebron, Carmelo, D-Wade, Bosh)...

  • its not "up there" 84 is better than both of those other draft classes combined. Between those four alone you have 8 championships, 8 regular season mvps, 8finals mvps, 3 defensive player of the year awards. 10 scoring titles, 9 assists titles and 3 rebounding titles. Add kobe, Iverson, Nash, JO, Marbury, Lebron, Carmelo D-wade and Bosh up altogether even and they don't come near that. P.S Lebron will never win a championship.

  • @juvenal660 1984 better than 1996 and 2003 combined? ridiculous... All the stats you've presented me are dependent on one player, Jordan. Jordan and Hakeem won championships, but Barkley and Stockton didn't (and those are the only 4 players that you can even argue are important in that class). Who else besides those 4 - Sam perkins? Kevin Willis? Lets get serious.... All the assist titles are stocktons. Mj all the scoring titles (vs kobe, ai, and lebron who have all won it)...

  • o.k you make some good points. I see what your saying, so I guess it just comes down to how you define a great draft you know what i mean. Like is it how many good players? or is how good the players are? you know bc, yeah, those stats are dependent on jordan but remember jordan was in that draft that is so much a art of what made it great. Without jordan i could not make the statement that it was better than those two combined but jordan is in that draft so thats the way it is. add it up

  • @juvenal660

As for MVPs (jordan mostly, barkley and hakeem once each), Lebron, Kobe, AI, and Nash have won it SO FAR... This is with most 03 players not even being in their primes yet. There is no way that on the basis of 4 players (jordan, barkley, stockton and hakeem) that you can say they are better than 03 and 96 put together (Kobe, Nash, AI, Lebron, Bosh, D-Wade, Carmelo, Ray Allen, Peja, J Oneal, Steph, etc...)...

  • @bearwarlock Your saying Charles and Hakeem won once as if thats no big deal and then your naming all players (except nash) who have only won once. Double standard. Sure, Lebron and Kobe may win one or two more each but Jordan won 5! And c'mon to win an mvp in the era of jordan is pretty impressive i give mad props to barkley and hakeem for doing that. But the bottom line is your drwing from a pool of ten guys and coming up with 5 mvp trophies and im drawing from a pool of4 and comingup w 8

  • @juvenal660 I see your point, but I would argue that the other 2 classes combined are better because of their depth. Whereas without Jordan, 84 is a strong class, it is no longer up there without that one player. Take away one single guy from the other classes combined and it is still extremely impressive. By the way, Hakeem won the MVP when Jordan was retired... It's hard to compare just because Jordan is so much of what makes 84s numbers look so impressive...

  • @bearwarlock OK gotcha your talking about depth im talking about goodness. But I have to say Bearwarlock, I think that this class was very deep to and if you disagree with that I think that means that you underappreciate, barkley, olujawon and staockton. Three of the best ever. (you know some people consider hakeem the best center ever.

  • I agree with you on this, except for ONE thing... Hakeem NEVER won an M.V.P. during Jordan's ERA... He won it during their first Championship run, 1993-1994, the first season without Jordan...

  • the dude was not 6'6

  • BEAST

  • What a great draft class

  • "I don't eat a a lot, I just eat all the time"

    Man I miss him

  • I ABSOLUTELY LOVE CHARLES BARKLEY.but his golf clubs need training wheels on the sides

  • @s1k2y3e4 i think 03'

  • Turbl.

  • Damn all the legends drafted in 1984-1984

  • if barkley played lebron in his hayday lebron would retire as one bang from barkley would lead to lebron sitting out with a broken ego. watch my sexually harsh videos.

  • Sir Charles will ALWAYS be remember as one of the greats to ever play. Beautiful Baller. Love his passion

  • Look at the crowd. Classy as shit, now it is filled with drunken frat kids.

  • @felaria when i think of class, the first thing that comes to mind is shit

  • @yahoopl3 That would explain why you and others are not classy. Thanks for your input.

  • @felaria LMBO! Yeah times have changed..

  • @felaria goes with the nba today ahahaha

  • Wow, can you even imagine a lottery pick today talking about how he can't play defense and how he hopes to learn from his teammates?

  • barkley was 300 pounds, damn fatass

  • He even admitted that he couldnt play defense and that is what Artest called him out about a couple months ago

  • I would love to see Artest try and guard Charles. He would be destroyed. There is never been someone with that much weight that could move that quick. Maybe Lebron but lebron cant even post up. Charles knew how to swing his momentum.

  • STILL DOESN'T HAVE RING WHAT SHAME

  • a steal at the 5th

  • So funny to see Chuck so meek and soft spoken!

  • Charles looks like Gordon from Clippers

  • Gordon looks like Chuck E Cheese.

  • Sixers had factions galore back then, that's why they didn't win more. The stars and the scrubs associated separately. Listen to the guys who talk about those early 80s Sixers teams.

  • Where's the #1 Pick? U forgot the Goat!

  • dui

  • 'the round mound of rebound'

  • this guy is my bros favorite player ever to ball. barkley is undertated if it wasnt for jordan with the bulls he would of had like 2 rings but cmon jordan guys

  • people say lebron is like magic and mj mixed....but i think lebron is charles barkley! charles was power, he was fast he could pass, he could block shots, steal the ball, and defend your best player....sounds like lebron to me.

  • This guy is nothing like Lebron come on now!
