  • this guy makes them sound like shit

  • Lol there's no distortion, just that it goes an extra metre then other earphones in terms of volume.

  • does it block out sound good?

  • One of the best review videos on youtube. Thanks!

  • @MLGsteggy hey can u use any mix amp with these and how much would it be in total for these and the cheapest mix amp???

  • Yea you need a mixamp

  • Can anyone tell me which is better in sound quality? these or iBeats?

  • @thedotiskewl75

The iBeats are WAY too expensive for what they're doing. I've used both, and unless you're a particularly bass heavy music enthusiast, the Astro A* Stars (in my OPINION) have a much nicer, cleaner sound. Again, this is OPINION.

  • So you need a mixamp to use these for xbox 360 for game audio and communication?

  • You need to get some a40 lol they are the best headset I have ever owned

  • I loved your review on the PC300's. They were very good even with low powered sources, unfortunately mine suffered from the cable issues you mentioned in this review. What is the impedance for the A*Star?

  • This guy plagiarized engadgets review word for word. Go check for yourself. It's exactly the same. Pitiful

  • @Steven0sborne I don't believe Engadget has a review of this headset. So..yea..

  • defiantly worth the extra $40 when I ordered my a40 system

  • HTC Incredible S cost 430 dollar (3000 Swedish crowns) in Sweden :O

and my iPhone 4S cost 855 dollar (6000 Swedish crowns)

    fuck Sweden :(

  • I really like this pair of headsets... but they break too easily =(

  • @4:30....I'm also paranoid with my EVO 3D.......It's mah baby. :3

  • DO I GET IT OR NOT?! O:<

  • I like the Black but the Design for the White stands out a lot more and both look glossy.

  • is this an actual headset? like a real one like hear bastards trying to walk up on you?

  • I have a pair of astro a40's and the mixamp. After watching this review and a couple others, I am pretty sure I'm going to buy these too. My skullcandy earbuds are starting to short out and I need a good replacement. Great review, its awesome to not have to listen to another 12 year old give a terrible review of something their mom bought them.

  • "Plugged In" Get Wired Cyber Punk Style

  • can this work for consoles aswell?

  • I actually play Counter-Strike source at the CEVO-P level (professional) and atm i use skullcandy earbuds and im looking for some new earbuds, probably this. Why not a normal headset? These block out heaps of sound and i use a SS sound card and i tend to hear footsteps better, BASS = BIG no for professionals.

  • dude. you always give the most comprehensive and fullest reviews on youtube. before i buy any electronic, i always check your reviews first. keep it up

  • Really good review also does the mic work on a phone ?

  • Attack Attack ftw!! :D

  • Looks stylish enough to take out casually, But is it to obvious enough it'll look weird in public?

  • Would you say the sound quality is similiar to the A30's?

  • Watched your A40s review and this review and I think your an amazing reviewer. Definite sub! Also BTBAM FTW! :D

  • does it work on xbox360slim?

  • What was the other headset with flat cable design?

  • @michillin212 Tours by Dre.

  • Steggy.. I have a pair of iBeats By Dre, How Do These Compare For Music?

    FuRiouSs

  • professional review..

  • How do the A*Star's do with surround sound with the mixamp?

  • so which on was better overall? The A stars or the Moray Plus's? Great review btw :D

  • Yo steggy epic riview :) iv got A30 and i was wondering weather u think i should get the A*'s as a more mobile music headset?

  • can u use these for any game system???like xbox???

  • @SiCklMindz yes but u have to get the astro mix amp as well

  • @AF4200 thnx bro they look nice

  • @SiCklMindz no problem :)

  • I thoroughly enjoyed this video. but do the A*stars stack up against a pair of Sony stereo earbuds as far as sound quality?

  • @iMidNiteBoss i don't think there is such a thing as an Astro Store. If there is, what city do you live in ?

  • That was bar-none the best review I have ever watched!! Seriously–thank you for the time you put into your reviews! You are extremely thorough (don’t let anyone tell you that you are too over the top; IMO, not enough detail goes into 99.98% of reviews on YT - so don’t change a thing!) and professional - read “politically” and commercially considerate. You state facts, and you’re your opinions without putting companies or others on the defensive. Please continue your first class work!!

  • very nice :D

but do you recom these for just listing music...?

    Soo noo gaming :P

  • Colors <3

  • Can i use these headphones just 2 listen to music on the iphone or something?

  • @iOwnzTV yes but you shouldn't, you pay extra for the versatility, the sound quality just for music isn't worth the price.

  • great review !!!! looking forward to the review of the astro a40s 2011 edition

  • Steggy what would u suggest for earbuds with Mic for the incredible.

  • great review like always, after watching review of astro a30 i decidet to buy astro a30 with mixamp 5.8 and im very happy with this headset , btw do u know when u will upload astro a40 2011 review?

  • I have a pair of Beats By Dre Tour. I payed 200$ for them. Are the sound for these better? Because if they are Im thinking of going to the Astro Store in my city to check them out.

    Thanks

  • @iMidNiteBoss you could've actually researched your shit, and could have educated yourself on hi-fi audio phones. easily, you could've spent $100 on sennheiser hd558s and could have gotten a better, clearer sound. but most people that arent educated in the hifi market believe that bass = quality. pretty much, any good brand (not monster, bose, skullcandy) will have better sound with $150 headphones than the beats. try akg, sennheiser, grados, audio technica, denon, or beyerdynamic.

  • Nice review. I recently tried my Klipsch IEM's with my Mixamp 5.8. What bothered me was that the Mixamp didn't seem to be feeding back any of my own voice to my own ears. I kept thinking I was probably talking too loud because of this, and gave up on using the IEMs with the Mixamp.

I think my old TB X41s actually mix your own voice back in to the audio from the earphones, so this seems to be something with the Mixamp more than the IEMs.

  • hahaha my A Star unboxing video appears on the right videos :) oooo yea

  • Amazing review man ;D I have the A40's since 09 and am waiting on the upgrade kit even thought I'm a casual Halo 3/Reach matchmaker. A*'s look nice though

  • Nice review, been thinking about getting a pair of these for my iPod.

  • Hey steggy if you want Audiophile headset you need to check out Jays a-Jays Four

  • That was a good review Steggy. Even though you can tell that your reading queue cards I like that not every other word is "UHM". Reading from queue cards for more and more reviews will allow you to become more fluid in your speech.

With that aside, I have the A*Stars and you were right on the nose with how I feel about them. The only caveat I have about them is they are very short coming in at only 44.4 inches. As for gaming with them, I recommend using them for just music on like an MP3 player.

  • DUDE plz can you review a mid rang (cheap) headset I had enough of all 150$ headphones plz

  • By the way guys, check out the written reviews that are discussed in the info pane. The written reviews have some information about the A*Star's microphone and even links to a sound clip of the mic's quality!

  • very professional great job

  • that was the best review you've ever given, nice job and thanks - tykwondoe

  • @ExtinctSlayer @WARSfate

    Thanks guys!

  • @MLGSteggy i agree with the post, best review yet :) <3 u Steggy

  • @MLGSteggy This or iBeats?

  • @MLGSteggy This or iBeats? In terms of just listening to music for my HTC.

  • @stroony8 These for all-around sound stage, Beats for Bass. Just bass.

  • Thanks steggy. When we get the 2011 a40 review. And so basically don't go with the astar. I need a good earbuda with talk for my incredible.

  • Great review as always. I'm not much of an IEM guy, but these seemed pretty solid. Definitely wouldn't replace my PC360.

Speaking of, are you planning on reviewing the PC360? Certain places have it for $180 or so. They are absolutely phenomenal for gaming.

  • @ShinCZ I've been attempting to review the PC360's for quite a while now, but there keeps on being delays. Hopefully I'll be getting it soon.

  • Great review well worth the wait what's your next review?

  • @niemann999

I have some videos coming up for the Logitech C910, and a MadCatz fightstick, as well as the 2011 A40. I've also got other stuff planned, but I'll announce those when it's 100% in the bag.

  • nice!

  • good shit dude
