  • Had this problem, solved!Thank you!

  • Thanks for the video, it worked for me too.

Just to let you and others know, you don't need to take the servo out of the socket, I undo the front 3 screws and just let it hang and carefully remove the 4 tiny screws at the back then clean using surgical spirit and cotton buds. All 3 servos done in about 15mins!

  • Thx a lot!!! it works!!!

  • Thank you SO MUCH for posting this video. Saved me $15 and 7-10 day wait for a new servo.

I had a bad crash, smashed the canopy, tail, servo problem appeared after flight just like this and no chance to fly it again for awhile, but after you gave us this excellent tutorial I fixed my servo and the mcpx is dialed in again, unfortunately I screwed my motor as well as it keeps failing. Least the servo's good and know how to fix them again in the future. Cheers

  • Thanks for posting this video! It's like new again!!

  • Thank you for this video!!

  • I have an msr x that was having this same problem. Thought it was defective and almost bought a new one until this vid. Runs like new now. Thanks.

  • hey bro, the MSR x was arrived already what can you say about this? Do you think this will be much better than MSR?

  • Hi aye2000,

I defenitely recommend the msr x if you flew the msr because it is a more stable and powerfull heli than the previous one. you can even fly this with a little breeze outside.

it has less parts (even though you don't break easily in a crash) and ofcourse the 3axis flybarless. a great improvement and a perfect step before 450CP.

  • Ok thats great !! Just cleaned servo with the oscillating pblm and its fixed .Will do the rest now . Its always the physical stuff that goes wrong in electronics , i should have known ! Thanx so much for your info . I used video head cleaner and a cotton bud . Left servo pcb attatched to main pcb . lots of carbon . all the best mate .

    Regards Shayne

  • Thanx a million man . Noticed yesterday the vibration was coming from the servo & was about to buy another one but did wonder if was the main pcb . About to clean right now . Brilliant fault find mate . Cheers Shayne Adelaide auzzie

  • Very well produced video! Well explained . . .

  • Very good information sir, Thank you!

  • Good video. The dirt that you removed is actually mostly carbon powder residue produced from the gold plated contacts rubbing on the carbon strip, in the linear potentiometer. I have not had issues with mine and this maybe due to differences in manufactruring assembly of those particular servos.

  • @MarioIArguello Flying the helicopter from dusty areas suchs as dirt fields grounds will also affect the open servos operation.

  • @MarioIArguello Just a tip, vibration also comes from the tail boom flopping, twisting in particular, where the heli has gone through a few crashes and the boom, wether tubular or solid rod, has weakened, this reults in amplification of the tail vibration which the tail gyro tries to keep up with. I dont see these issues because I setup all my helicopters with properly MIA Upgrades designed to make the helicopter more stable and more durable. Check out my site for mCPX videos.

  • It helped – thank you very much! But I wonder how long servos will last until they need another cleaning.

  • very help and very descriptive.

  • great and help full video.

    thanx man.

  • Problem fixed! Thanks for the post! AS FOR ALL YOU CLOWNS CRYING ABOUT THE LENGTH OF THE VIDEO, HOW ABOUT A THANKS TO THE MAN WHO POSTED IT? If you're anything like me, you've already spent a lot more time than the length of this video trying to resolve the problem. Otherwise you wouldn't be here. Some peoples disrespectfulness and ungratefulness never cease to amaze me. Thanks again!

  • @RollTide35756

thanks pal, there are a few guys like you who appriciates the information in such movies.

I hope for you that it lasts longer now. mine does. it never came back.

    greetings.

  • Very cool video. Thanks for sharing all that you know. My chopper has burned two servos at two diffrent times. one was the pitch servo after just 10 flights and the other was the elevator after 5 more flights. I wonder if what your talking about caused them to burn. Mabey not. The heli only has 40minunts of flight time. Its on its way to HH now for warranty. Again Very cool video.

  • Fixed my vibration problem. Also reduced blow out.

  • great to see your advice.

  • OMFG get to the point next time!

  • brilliant - this advice seems to have fixed my problem. thanks.

  • @dgorog

thanks for the positive feedback, I hope it will never come back!

  • GREAT info, but please, next time make it shorter, this vid could have been don in 90 seconds MAX!

  • @AceMcMoron

youre right about the length, but there are many users who tries to start the hobby with this heli. I tried not to

disclose the beginners with detailed information who never disassembled a servo like this.

a little intro to the problem might also help understand the underlaying issue.

  • @AceMcMoron

Laughable mate. Apt user name. You have two vids, neither of them instructional (ie for support of others) and you're gripe is that this is too long.

    Cracked me up.

Make a concise version and upload it.....

Nice job kalliber5. From a forum I found head cleaner for video tapes (retro I know) is pretty much the perfect fluid (alcohol). Used Q tips carefully. Absolutely necessary about every 50 flights if you want accurate collective and cyclic.

    Amp

  • It seemed to work. I've done some other fixes at the same time so I am not sure if cleaning alone helped, but my servos were dirty and I did clean them. Thanks

  • @usadiamond

youre welcome mate, have nice flights!

  • i have tried both methods, the rubber grommets and cleaning, and the cleaning works better in my case!

  • @ronhogwarts

    Hi,

glad to hear that it worked out for you. do you have any idea where it comes from?

I had much more crashes in the beginning, and very often now. my heli stopped shaking

    and never come back again.

  • i have tried the rubber gromet method, and in my case it did nothing, as it was the servo trying to re-centre, and the black marks stopped/deceased the conductivity.

  • Thanks a lot! Will try it

  • hey,

There is a known fix for this that cures all vibrations. Its 100 times easier and more effective that what your showing in your video here! Take three canopy gromets (rubber things that hold your canopy on), pop off your three servo links and push the rubber gromets on the swashplate all the way back. snap on your servo links and your problem is fixed. SO EASY.

    tnt neon showed me this.

  • @Captan6pack

    Hi,

Did you watch the hole movie? Because in the beginning I'm mentioning

This rubber gommet issue and that it will eliminate the slop in the links, However, this sollution method is for those who experiencing the vibration out of the servo. If you watch closely

You can see that I am using these rubbers to! Cleaning is so far the best sollution that comes from the servo and not by the slop in the links. You can try and get rid of the rubbers, they cause resistance on the links.

  • @kalliber5 thanks for the update big ben

  • @Captan6pack easy there buddy! yr judging the movie by its title!
