I'm new to PCS i'm confused what type of memory speeds this can have. I was wondering if it can take 1600 memory? Or even 2000 I get confused I checked the site and it says,6 x DIMM, Max. 24 GB, DDR3 2000(O.C.)*/1866(O.C.)*/1800(O­.C.)*/1600(O.C.)/1333/1066 Non-ECC,Un-buffered Memory. I'm confused by this. Can I put in memory that's 1600? Or more or can I only have 1333/1066 memory speeds and it will overclock to the other speeds? Can someone explain memory to me please..

My new 580 will be here tomorrow, and so for right now I am running 2 EVGA 9800GT's in sli mode.

I was wondering if I put the new 580 in the blue slot on my asus P6Tv2 and then drop the two

9800's down to the white (2) and black (3) pcie slots, can I use the two 9800's in sli mode

to just run my physX ????? I know I can do it with just one card, but Im not sure about both 9800's any help with this is very much appreciated !!!! Mike

Cause i know about the main 24 pin, but what do i have to do with that second connector at the top on the left? you can put a 4 pin connector in it and if i remove that black cap i can put a 8 pin in it.

So wich one do i have to plug in it? a 4 pin or remove the black cap and connect a 8 pin?

@uphill248 980x on a ud3r, a little overkill... get a 920, watercool it and OC it to 4GHz, unless you have the money for a 980x, then get that. But if you have $1000 for a CPU, whats $500 or less for a motherboard? Get a 4-way sli EVGA classified and then use 4 5870's. Or you could get 3 480's, unknown if it will get 4-way, though.

my new build with the p6t will start... turn everything on... and shut down in 5 seconds. it's beep code says that there is no memory detectable. im using 6gb corsair dominator(2x3)ddr3-1600mhz. its not the power supply and i have tried the ram sticks one at a time. if anyone can help me it would be much appreciated.

Make sure you put them in the orange slots, also make sure that they sit in properly. They HAVE to make a CLICK sound when you put 'em in. All the white things have to be leveled.

as a gamer the use of SAS hard drives isn't really necessary, and for anyone that uses the mobo as a general use platform they'd have no idea what SAS means let alone what it's used for. Grab a pair of SSD's a bit more expensive (to say the least) but the transfers would be as fast or faster

appearantly you havent seen the speed of some good 15000rpm 300gb drives. SAS will actually tell you when a particular drive will fail, SATA can't do that

No there is nothing wrong at all... it's just the new i5 processors as well as the i7 8xx range only use dual channel DDR3 and p55 chipset which is socket 1156.

The boards you are refering to are most likely P55 which is not compatible with i7 9xx range such as the 920
