On Win7 x64 with WinRAR x64 3.93:

1) merging the files as in video --> successful

2) retrieving "secret.txt" from "picture.jpg":

2.a) Run WinRAR as in video, but only browse to the folder where "picture.jpg" is.

2.b) Right-click on "picture.jpg" and select "Repair archive".

2.c) Select where to put the repaired file. Select "Treat the corrupt archive as RAR". Then [OK].

2.d) Tab [Yes] when asked "The archive header is corrupt. Mark the archive as solid?".

Now you can proceed with the repaired file "rebuilt.picture.jpg" (in the folder selected in step 2.c above) to open and extract secret.txt as in video.

Sorry, just learned that you have to save the text doc as a .bat for some reason, and you have to hunt the bottom line for the text >:|

What i discovered:

Do everything listed but do not download WinRAR

Do not make a rar file of the text doc

Do not copy the name of the text doc as a .rar

Once you have the image, with the imbedded text file in it, you wont be able to open with WinRAR if you have it, you have to open it with notepad. It'll look something like this at first

F>@@!##%''CEE133 ""BDDSQQSQQ[[[OO..............­.

But at the end it'll include the text in the file. You can hide the code to batch files, or secret messages :D

I've done this before on Vista and i'm trying now on Windows 7. The problem I'm having is if you do as the video shows (picture.jpg + archive.rar picture2.jpg), then it creates a .jpg that Photo Viewer can open but WinRAR can't, so I tried switching them (archive.rar + picture.jpg picture2.jpg) which creates a .jpg that WinRAR can open but Photo Viewer can not. Here is a Tip:

You need to be sure that you got a .jpg file and not a .png , .gif or other picture formats.

If you have a .png file you need to write secret.png instead of secret.jpg
