  • Hey brow ! I am here from Brazil and I really liked your version of Wating in Vain!

Congrats !! If you could please send me the chords from this song, I want to play it like you !!

    Obrigado !

  • Jay sean cover much better than this

  • bleh, no stylee

  • Best cover of this song ive heard on youtube!

  • Fucking shit. It was awesome.

  • He has the _same_ name as me :/ Stealing my google search results...

  • OK haole boy good tunez!

  • is that southern accent? i like how you speak

  • Great job brederin'

check out my version of the song :)

its got a nice twist in the end!

  • ahhhh Biiiig tuuune man...that's wassup riight there!!!

  • I have this mic. Haven't tracked with it yet but will this weekend. One thing I've read alot of reviews and forum threads on recording sites saying the stock tube can be harsh and a NOS tube 6922 replacement ie. Telefunken, Amperex, Mullard for $100-$200 is an insanely good investment upgrade to give the mic a much smoother 3 dimensional sound. I'm saving for one of these tubes.

  • i'm evaluating a few brand of mics and i think the Rode NTK is on my top list. thank you for posting this video and demo for the mic. Matt, if i have an audio interface that can supply phantom power do i still need the included Rode power supply? thank you

  • @Berrymore84 Yes Berrymore84 you still need the power supply. However, you do not need to engage/use the phantom power on your audio interface as the power supply replaces that phantom power. I've done internet research on this very subject as I just got this mic. What I learned was that older tube mics could actually be damaged by phantom power, but the newer Rode NTK won't be harmed. Some say that using the phantom power on your interface along with the mic power supply can be cool sounding.

  • @pwyndam thanks for sharing your knowledge i think for safety reasons it's better to use whatever that comes with the mic. good luck and enjoy your mic!

  • @pwyndam i noticed he didn't use any shock mount could it be the mic is steady and doesn't need one?

  • @Berrymore84 Yeah for sure Man. In my home studio I don't have a shock mount yet for my Rode NTK. I just use the regular mic attachment that came with the mic. I'm planning on getting a shockmount, but unless you are a drunkered or need ritalin to keep from bouncing off the walls, you shouldn't need a shockmount, especially if your mic stand is on carpet. When you're tracking just don't touch the mic stand or mic stay about a foot or so away from the mic and you shouldn't have any issues.

  • @pwyndam i think it looks a bit professional if you use a shock mount LOL. thanks for your great tips and efforts btw!

  • AWESOME...Nice, blew me away...

  • hey mate, pass em chord nah? please.. i love your cover.. nice jammin..

:P nice cover, i find it hard to make renditions of bob marley songs, but you did it well :)

  • man i need so bad to have Runaway from Matt shockley...amazing song, havent found it.

  • wou ''' do you change the tube of the rode ntk?

  • i kinda missed the flow on every youtube cover of this song. They all just focus on the vocal performance which i think doesnt matter as much as the rhythm in such as a song.

and you definitely just took the first jack johnson you knew and thought it would be perfect.

  • i'm jamaican, i've bin hearing this song all my life, and i'm glad u didn't butcher it...great job!

  • I love this song, very beautiful!

  • good performance - love the begining

  • Made me cry

  • Love that song:) the best of Bob Marleys songs,! Thanks :)

  • Loved it!! You have a great voice. I am a composer/sound engineer. At the moment I am putting together a hip hop album with a great artist in Canada. He has played many large shows in NY as well. I also make electronic and lounge music and would love to work with someone like you. Also, let me know if you would like you work mixed or mastered. It would be a pleasure. In fact, the first 2 tracks will be done for free. Let me know. Take care.

  • i like the medley lol. the best revival. :)

  • nice!! :)

  • The Vocals are incredible!! What Did you do? EQ? Effects? Something Fancy?

  • @Timzsk8 He is using a good microphone, the Rode NTK, which is a tube microphone. It produces a good warm sound. He also obviously has a reverb effect on the vocals.

  • @c0nfu53d I use this mic for my vocals and voiceovers, and it sounds sweet!

  • @Timzsk8 A good voice, and the RØDE NTK Microphone! I have this mic and use it for my vocals and voiceovers, and it sounds SWEET! $529 on sweetwater, but just as they say, this is a 1000 dollar microphone. It's that good.

  • wow amazing

I love this song, and you definitely did it justice.

    Great job

  • I love this song, good job
