I tried to teach my wife to shoot and it didn't work out very well. I then got my good buddy to take my wife out and teach her to shoot. My buddy ended up having anal sex with my wife. She did learn to shoot though!
Thank you very much! I do like my Glocks but my favorite pistol is a Beretta 92 . I love my Berettas. Thank you very much for the shout out! That made my day.
I find .22's very boring too, but they still have a very practical purpose in teaching person to shoot. None the less, your "cowboy load" is probably a better alternative to a .22 LR.
Good points. I've also found that target selection is an important area to consider w/women or new shooters, too. I prefer a simple silhouette: The shooter tends to focus on placement in a general 'center mass' area & makes minor aiming, trigger control, etc adjustments vs. trying to judge all their shots based upon the scoring rings they fall into & make adjustments shot to shot from there.
SIDE BAR: Have you ever attended a concert by the Warner Bro.s Symphony?
disagree with the .22, it might bore YOU but the most important thing is getting THEM comfortable with firearms. a .22 is ideal to get over the intimidation factor smoothly and quickly, and avoid developing bad habits. plus its dead cheap.
avoiding frustration is also key, so avoid guns with lots of "features". glocks are near ideal as they are dead simple, shoot well for nearly everyone, and are reliable.
revolvers are fantastic teaching tools but i wouldn't start with them.
@ms3bani You are entitled to your opinion, but the most important thing is giving them what they want to learn. Most people I know do not want to bother with a .22 unless they plan on making shooting a hobby. Most women I know just want to learn enough to be safe and to defend themselves. Forcing your own opinions on them will just turn them off.
PS: The military and law enforcement do not train with .22's do they?
I kinda disagree on the revolver. My wife steers clear of 'em just her personal preference. I definately think a polymer single stack 9mm or relatively thin double-stack 9mm is the way to go. Unfortunately, she has gone thru several guns before figuring this out (on my dollar no less lol) Great vid as usual man!
@MrCleanerNash thre is always the exception, but in my experiences with female shooters (personally and from gun forums) I would have to say at least 80% prefer a revolver if they are exposed to them. All of the women I have personally introduced to firearms have preferred them. Granted, that is only about a dozen or so women over the years.
There is also the fact that a lot of women lack the hand strength to rack a slide.
@TheYankeeMarshal I definately agree with the difficulty racking the slide. My wife keeps one chambered (in a purse holster) at all times so its ready to go. But if there was a malfuction, it would certainly be more time to correct than a simple revolver so yeah its a great point and I can see why most women gravitate towards it. She just wanted something light with more rounds (kahr p380) which is about 4 ounces less than a Ruger LCR polymer J frame and carrys 2 more rounds.
i believe women have been conditioned by the media to a certain extent into believing they "need" a revolver instead of a semiauto.
if a new shooter's problem is heavy slides, then the 92fs is a very poor choice for a beginner -- it has one of the heaviest slides of any semiauto :) you are pretty much guaranteeing their choice will always be the revolver. there are tons of semiauto pistols with WAY easier slides!
also a 92fs is overly complex for new shooters. try a glock.
@ms3bani conditioning has nothing to do when actual physical limitations are involved...and both of my 92's have had slides like butter and a shape/size that allowed for a good grip.
@ms3bani I think we have different opinions of what is frustrating or complex. All you have to do on the 92 is engage the safety. Besides, the 92 is the beginner gun that absorbs recoil well. For their permanent gun we work our way down to a true carry gun.
PS: Some of the best shooters I have ever known started on SA revolvers. I started on single action revolvers too...and I loved them.
Thanks for entering the contest with this video. Awesome guns to train the woman folk with and I like your activities I am a big fan of the marvel super hero comic book characters. Good luck to you in this contest.
Why the Beretta? I'm a man and that thing has a grip that is to large and uncomfortable for me to shot well. I enjoy your videos, keep up the good work!

You can open up a store and stock it full with all your collectables lol. I have a pretty large collection of baseball cards / comics in storage.

@TheYankeeMarshal Many militaries trained with .22's at one point. Not so much anymore for some reason.

@TheYankeeMarshal
a gun with a safety/decocker is unnecessary confusion for new shooters. a single action revolver would also be a poor choice for a beginner.
again, new shooters are turned off quickly by frustration and distractions. eliminate potential sources of it.

@GREY1551 the Beretta I have is an "L" type Inox. The single stack grip makes it much more slimline.
