  • so many memorys with this song,,we all have them,,our teenage years,,,,long live the 80's as im sure many from their own era will say,,

  • "Timeless <3"

  • Agreed 101% with 80sOldskool, the 80's was the best year. I really miss it, those were the good old days....

  • Met Dragon at the Day on the green concert, although Mark is no longer with us they have a new lead singer who is doing a great job.

Todd [Marks brother] really has that infectious happy smile he has in this film clip, one of lifes true gentlemen.Love the band and their magnificent contribution to Aussie music.

  • 0:37 " time takes its toll and took it fast ... "

    If only he knew...

  • Is this when they replaced their drugs with biscuits?!

  • Awesome band NZ"S best. Marc hunter you are sexy

  • @StacieLaura I don't know about that, but a fantastic singer left the world far too early.

  • This truly reminds me of the Young Years - and the trouble-free fun lifestyle that was the mid to late 80's! When this song was released, I was 15 and now at 38 I have a lot more appreciation for it than I did then.

  • RIP man. 7 September 1953 – 17 July 1998

  • Nice to hear Dragon and Marc Hunter with that melodic saxophone intro and crisp guitars. I'm from the U.S. and I always thought this band and MEO245 were spectacular Down Under bands and there were many. Dragon had -- real nice arrangements, great rock vocals, and just an overall sound that was refreshing. As far as I'm concerned Hunter is up there with the best rock vocalists -- screw the R&R Hall of Fame -- I know he belongs there and that's all that matters.

  • They look like musicians who enjoy what they do, making music. To the musicians of today, its make music, not sell it, but sadly its all about the "bling".

  • @swansbear, fucking massive lol

  • @assortedcorpses, spot on where is the music going now? clowns like beiber and gaga, what a fuckin joke, let me know when u build that time machine back to the 80s , Im first on board!!!!!!!!!!

  • @olexboy 80's music is the best!!!

  • @olexboy I've got a time machine but I'm stuck five minutes ago !

  • @olexboy I hear ya mate, just give me a few minutes

  • How did they get Paul McNamee to play guitar like that?!

  • @swansbear lol

  • @swansbear its Tommy Emmanuel playing lead i know friggin awesome

  • @yamskee01 mate its actually mark's brother todd on guitar. but yes tommy did play for them also

  • Such a great song ! I was living on Bilambil hill near Tweed 1989 and the view on that hill was exactly like there .

  • Dragon relocated to aussie in 1975. australia's gain new zealand's loss. just never got the recognition they deserved here in NZ.

  • Miss you Marc xxx

  • waiting here for the time to pass, time takes it`s toll and it took it`s fast.

  • Great KIWI band!

  • I love this band but it sorta sounds like an ad for a retirement home.

  • can anyone confirm where this video was filmed, I thought it was filmed on the NSW South Coast near Nowra, but I'm not so sure now.

  • sometimes the good did not die young? I wish this was true in this case ...we miss you marc rip xx

  • KIWIANA HARDOUT NuffSaid!! \m/(-_-)\m/ AOTEAROAROCK

  • Its great to hear Dragon again.

  • I'm confused are they aussie or kiwi? I thought 'April Sun in Cuba' was kiwi song.

  • We are both kiwi and aussie side by side.

  • @kiwikidzach The group "Dragon" originated from NZ in 1972 and relocated to Australia in 1975.

  • @Rockspiderstopper Excellent history RSS thanks mate for clearing that up for me. Have you checked out Th' Dudes - Be Mine Tonight? Dav Dob at his best. Have a great weekend bro!

  • shivers cos our memories die young ,and now the wind it blows so cold, those were our young years,,,etc, etc, etc, roscoe

  • Two very talented Brothers. Todd the master songsmith, Marc the charisma. Todd could sing just as well as his little brother, it would have been great to see him front the band.... but I can understand not wanting to do it. RIP Marc, you were an awesome performer and you are sadly missed.

  • "Summer" my favourite song....there will always be only one Marc Hunter...what a sad loss....

  • Brilliant song, RIP Marc, Never to be forgotten mate.

  • Paying tribute to our wonder years...driving to school for the first time, first kiss, first crush on your teacher, first cigarette...

  • This was filmed at Cambewrra near (Nowra).

Nice place just beofre Kangaroo Valley.

  • gloriously heartbreaking :(

  • TODD HUNTER WITH A TIM FINN HAIRSTYLE

  • Marc Hunter - A Kiwi music Legend

  • Can anyone tell me where this video clip was filmed?

  • RIP Marc....your music will never be forgotten

  • My favourite dragon song. It came out when I was a young fella. Now I'm almost 40 and looking back on my own young years I can really appreciate it's poignancy.

  • @corrannz :)

  • Dragon music is timeless, RIP Marc Hunter

  • anyone remember the rob sitch parody?

  • @mofosixxxx yes very well Santo played Todd Hunter eating a Chiko Roll.

  • heineken rocks the Opera House 1991 they were bloody fantastic

  • R.I.P Marc Hunter

  • I love this song, but the video is terrible hahaha

  • My brother bought me Bondi Road album one year for Christimas, at first I was a bit disappointed until I played it and fell in love with it and it's still in my record collection today !!!!

  • Real musicians not show offs.

  • Thank you so much for the great quality audio in this clip.Great song and Dragons best. Much appreciated.

  • @mastersv8 This song never got the commericial success it deserved. Definitely one of Dragon's best songs.

  • @toddgei amen to that

  • Love Dragon! What a superstar Hunter was. Still see Dragon play live at the old manly boatshed with Mark Williams fronting. Awesome.

  • A 57 yo bloke having a quiet blub is not a good look.

But sometimes I just can't help myself.

Bless you Todd and miss you Marc......despite the tears I have such happy memories. Would love to see the current lineup, but not much chance of that as I'm livin in the sticks.

  • it should be not aussie music history because they are a NZ band. They just relocated to Aussie. NZ and proud of it!

  • I may be the most obtuse bitch on the planet; but, was this a celebration of earlier, better times? I loved this song when it first came out; but the footage of Marc and Todd on the hillside. /bawl.

  • OMG if only we could go back ...great song x

  • Awesome song and another awesome 80's song! Love it!

  • Yes !

  • I'm all choked up. Marc, miss you still. And so many lovely comments below!

  • Another great NZ song.

  • thanx to the uploader, this sounds frikkin excellent, so clear and crisp, cheers mate.

  • God I love this song, growing up in Oz, the 40 min drive to work in Melbourne was always better with Kiwi and Aussie music. Haven't been back for 3 years now - I miss home... RIP Marc Hunter

  • ill always listen to ur tunes marc so much better than this new stuff ROCK IN HEAVEN BUDDY !!!!! :D

  • There are clean needles in the Cross now...

  • Fabulous comments below! I really enjoyed reading them. Without sounding morbid - I think this would be nice at my funeral because the words are beautiful and the melody too. Marc's infectious charm & joyfulness is in abundance in this video. It makes me want to visit NZ lol.

  • Saw Dragon Christmas eve 1987 in Newcastle. Great show. Obviously it was before this song. But this would be their best song. Takes you back. Sitting here, 20 years later, wondering where it went. They say youth is wasted on the young. Maybe, maybe not, but its a shame we don't get music like this any more.

  • I went to see Dragon in Newcastle not that long before Mark died. What a great band what great music what great times, never will forget.

  • @AussieMusicHistory Yeah it is Shane. Just with my audio on it. Your audio came out at double speed for some weird reason.

  • remember this soooooo well. think i might have taped it on a sunday am, age 15, and played it repeatedly. Really liked this band

  • i'll go out on a limb and say that this is one of dragon's best songs imho along with off the top of my head rain, are you old enough, wilderworld, magic, get that jive.

  • I love this song at 51 it just rings so true

  • I think I saw Dragon live early to mid 90s. They were awesome. Soon after Marc Hunter died of throat cancer. One ofthe best concerts I have ever seen and this song was their encore performance! Great band, awesome music!

  • Great to see the original clips of the Kiwi formed band. Now I can finally put the faces together. I just seen the reformed Dragon in June on it's NZ tour. Mark WIlliams does remarably well as the replacement lead singer.

  • One of the best songs of all time.......

  • Sometimes the good DO die too young.

  • this song gives me shivers!

  • @shazzbutt2009 me too

  • Classic Great band, with the great Tommy Emmanuel. Best Austr/Kiwi band , with Split Enz of course... Dearly missed , Marc.

  • LOVE IT!!!!!!!!

  • I left Australia in 1989, I had never heard this untill now, first to view and comment as well. I am guessing this would have been one of Dragons last hits ???? Thanks for the upload, Dragon was a great band, especially live.

  • @ozphil Summer in 1990 was their last charting song at 49. And that was it. But not forgotten

  • @aussietv2 How did this song only make it to number 49? Were we mad???

  • @potedude - i think so :-) but generally classics become classics in time rather than the 5 min of fame types of today :)

  • @breakfree74 I guess so, I loved this song when it came out but was too young to follow the charts properly. The popularity proves what a classic it is...

  • @potedude - you may like the new 2011 version with Mark Williams on vox, its pretty cool :-)
