Great video! I don't understand why the gay thing is such a big issue in America, yet right next door in Canada, we just accept it with so much less drama. Why do Americans have to be such drama queens. What's the big deal? Live and let live.
You're right. I'm thoroughly religious but gays are just other people and they shouldn't be "tolerated" they should be treated just as people! We can't get by just "tolerating" people who don't live in accordance with morals or conventions.
they say that for stragic votes the christian anti-gay is more than the gay vote they say tolerated so they can take some gays and still say "im not on the gay side i just said tolerated"
I really hope that every single person on this planet..ESPECIALLY politicians...get to see this video some day. I am straight and an american and can honestly say that it DISGUSTS me to know that the gay culture is just "tolerated". FUCK THAT! I was never raised to think that LOVE was such a horrible thing. I SUPPORT YOU ALL THE WAY!
I was just speaking on this same topic with a bunch of gay men. We were outraged that she said tolerate...we must be accepted. America can not pick and choose who deserves rights! All deserve rights. Thanks for the awesome video.
I can understand that tolerate can seem demeaning, but it IS something we are taught to do from a young age. It isn't always a harsh statement. Here are a couple of definitions that I wouldn't mind applied to me: 1. To allow the existence, presence, practice, or act of without prohibition or hindrance. 2. To recognize and respect (the rights, beliefs, or practices of others).
Please don't be hurt by that word. It doesn't always mean they are just willing to put up with you.
It all beagn as a property rights issue, so when self-righteous, holier-than-thou moronsstart talking about the 'sanctity' of marriage, it's obvious to me that they have not clue about history. The meaning of marriage has changed to the last few decades from a familial obligation to an issue of love and happiness. Isn't 'Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness' covered unequivocally (without exception) in the Bill of Rights? It shouldn't even be an issue.
Acually marriage was created, historically, as a way for the wealthy men to transfer property between themselves as a contract more binding than simply signing a legal document. The girls/women were legally the property of their fathers and with the marriage becam the property of their husbands. When their husbands died they became the property of their eldest sons. Up until the mid-15th Century marriage was ONLY available to the wealthy (Merchant Class, Noble Class & Royal Class).
Let me say something I agree on gay marriage but at the same time I agree with the fact that both of them are honest and give straight answers at least on this issue, Instead oh having somebody who blows smoke into your mind and then turn into something else once they win the election.
AMEN!!! As I sat and watched the debate not knowing who I was going to vote for...not happy with either choice going in. When I heard her say Tolerate...I went through the roof! I am thankful to you as an american for fighting for our freedom. The fact that the candidants were ignorant enough to even say "Tolerate" was proof that neither derserve to run this great country of ours!! I share your feelings, Eric. I am helping when I can here in Cali to help defeat prop 8 (which if passed will change our state constitution to ban gay marriage here). Gays just don't speak out loud or often enough for our rights. Could you imagine what people would think of us if we said out loud "Blacks and women should be tolerated?" Sigh.
I aplaud you Eric! Great Video! I added this to my favorites! I am rite there with you and agree 100%! I stand beside you! Oh and I have to say I love the ending! Well Done!

Palin is a total waste of time. I was very angry when she said "tolerated" too. I was shocked when Biden said he was not in favor of gay marriage. We are the only group of people in America that can be discriminated against on National television and have no one blink an eye. It is shocking, it hurts and it so fucking unbelievable.

I agree as a gay 18 year old male in the United States...I can say that I was pissed. In fact, I turned it off after they "answered" that question. I'm glad you are so angry cuz we all should be. Gay and straight people should be angry.
I didn't see the debate (don't own a TV) and not in USA..
Here in Canada people are accepted for who they are. Heck, we have even military same sex weddings held on the bases! "Marriage is the lawful union of two persons to the exclusion of all others"...as defined in our charter.
Why judge on just sex then, to make it fair add age, weight, race, height, hairstyle, IQ, music pref., clothing, net worth, smell, hometown, language, health ...
I am a native american women (former Air Force) who wouldn't have the right to vote not very long ago. I support gay marriage and am registered to vote and will vote "no" on prop 8 in California Nov 2nd. Common on people register!!! My daughter serves as secretary on her Gay/straight alliance (high school) in our conservative town. I support her and the club!
It looks to me if every american is a christian too. Is that right, are there so many christians with you there? And if, may be that's the problem, because of the pope and the holy bible.. sodom and gomorra.. I'm not gay (or should I say lesbian for a woman?), but it makes me very angry too if other people are not allowed just love an other person the way they want it.
If you love someone you should be able to marry them. Yeah, if you want that.. why not? In my country you can if you want, but I mention that the Christian people in The Netherlands have problems with it. Ana I was very (how to say this.. ehh) wondered? this days to see on tv how god seems to like important in America. (to be continued..)
palin and rest of them are full of crap. Everyone should be treated as equal. Like who was the first person who decided to discriminated to anyone. Whay can we be equal once. Screw the conservative people. This is not what our greatest rulers in history worked hard for.
Are you serious? Do you really believe that gay people shouldnt be treated like everyone else in regards to marriage? Its about way more than natural order, its about love. More than Love really, it's about freedom! We should ALL be able to enjoy that! What happened to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness? All anyone (gay or otherwise) wants is to be happy.
I agree completely! I think it's absurd that in 2008 gay/lesbians are still treated as inferior. In my eyes your FIRST CLASS! I love this country, but at times I am embarrassed at the way we treat our people!
i agree. this country is aways dicriminative torwards people. MOstly this country. Other countries alway treated us with grace and kindness. Palin is full of crap.
The natural order has no bearing on whether the government gets to grant gay couples the right to marry. But now that you mention the natural order, homosexual animals are well documented in nature, therefore, it happens NATURALLY.
It isn't natural, however, for us to ingest steroids and anti-biotics in the form of cow milk - or even be drinking cow milk in the first place - but we tolerate THAT unnatural act. Try again.
And since I'm not gay, I won't have any cred here, and that's cool. BUT I will tell you that I am from California and have lived here for 35 years. I have many gay friends. They're funny, shocking, cool, and kooky. Not many are angry on a daily basis. Today's gays have it way better than they did when I was in my teens, and I imagine when I'm in my 70's they'll be married like everyone else. Patience . . . that's the problem with people - they want EVERY issue solved with one vote. Man.
patience you say. Well what about the minorities who wanted equal rights for many centuries. Do you know how long they've suffered.CHeck your history vote. We should change with this vote. And you call that patience. Well i don't care what the religion says.
I will tell you what...You upload a video..with your face...SO..your gay friends?? can actually see someone posting comments like this...and you don't believe they should have every right a straight american does..u want second class citizens with rights that fit someone else's agenda...damn right we want change NOW!!! its been HUNDREDS of years..not your we 35 you've lived in California....
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Look, bud. Feel free to sign a contract and enjoy the "same" benefits that married couples do, but until you two can screw and make a baby, then it is not the "natural order" (I'm sure you'll somehow argue that, but again, make a baby and I'll reverse my opinion,)and you should not be able to get "Married" as men and women do. I do believe a civil union should be granted the same benefits and protections as marriage -- and why don't you come up with your own name for it? Like ... Unification!
OR...you can call it marriage. He HAS the right. People like you just keep denying him that. Reproductive capabilities are no more relevant to this topic than if it were a man unable to produce sperm, or a woman in menopause. This has nothing to do with "the natural order" of things, just your idea of the natural order. Name ONE reason that they shouldn't get married that doesn't have to do with religion and I'll concede the whole point.
Let me show you the definition found in the dictionary...and not Wikpedia...
maybe you have a different version that say's marriage is for procreation and not unification of two people in love? forward me a copy! PLEASE read definition #2...thats nationally recognized by the dictionary! come smart or not at all!!
That's right, go ahead, rub salt into the wound. Have you served your country like Eric has? I doubt it. If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all.
I was ashamed when I heard both their responses on the issue. I am a firm believer that ALL Americans should have the same rights. My cousin is gay, and has had a relationship with a man for the past 7 years, I would love it if they could legally marry. If you love someone you should be able to marry them.
I would also like to thank you for the 10 years you spent defending our country.
First of all, THANK YOU for serving our country. People who don't serve cannot imagine the sacrifices you have to make and I, for one, want to tell you that I deeply appreciate it. I don't care if you're gay or straight or somewhere in between. I have a friend who had to leave his home, his job, everything, because he was getting death threats at the school he taught at. He is now the PRINCIPAL of the new school he went to. Remember, not everyone shares the same views as those you spoke of. :)
I hear you Mr sister. It is the same in Australia too..that is why i live in norway where there is equal rights for gays. It is like 2008, America, Australia and many other countries need to get with the program and recognise we are not going away.
When you start to talk about gay americans in the military.. I stated to cry.. SOOO FUCKING TRUE... Who get's handle their dog tags if they die fighting for a freedom they will never recieve.
Thank you! who will fight for them...who will bury them, where will they get buried...an american died for our country, but our country only see's a gay man or womyn...not a hero..
THANK YOU! You SHOULD be angry. I was ashamed to hear both Biden and Palin agreeing on this issue. But it's worse coming out of Joe Biden and Barack Obama than it is from a "tolerant" hag like Palin because Obama is running on "change". On this one issue alone neither he nor his VP have defended their positions against gay rights adequately. Believe it or not, this singly issue raises questions about their character and I'm strongly considering voting for Ralph Nader, if only just to protest.
Great video! I don't understand why the gay thing is such a big issue in America, yet right next door in Canada, we just accept it with so much less drama. Why do Americans have to be such drama queens. What's the big deal? Live and let live.

Eric this is my response taken from a speech by stevie wonder. it is the story of a boy whose body was crippled.
If mine eyes were to see let them be the witness of a world that is colour free.
if my limbs were to move let them touch and walk a land where hate can no longer be.
And if my ears were to hear let it like the sweetest music be a unity & a harmony.
And if my mouth were to speak let me talk about a land where love is for all and fear can't put dreams to sleep.

We only have a set number of days on this planet, we should be able to love and marry whomever our heart desires. Love to you, Eric.

palin and rest of them are full of crap. Everyone should be treated as equal. Like who was the first person who decided to discriminated to anyone. Whay can we be equal once. Screw the conservative people. This is not what our greatest rulers in history worked hard for.

Homosexual activity has been shown to occur in over 1500 species besides humans. How is it "against nature", if it happens in nature all the time?
ReVoLynx 3 years ago

You look so scary... could be a Halloween vid. Invasion of the bodysnatchers. Yeah, the soldier showing through the artist.
Beside that.
GREAT vid. You got your views and words completely correct. Blue ribbon, debate team stuff.
Two party system sucks. You always have to vote for the clown or the jester. The man who would be king could not even become governor.

Man.
PalinMcCainDotCom 3 years ago
patience you say.

I am not gay either, but I have cred here because I believe people have to live their lives honestly and find happiness.

This comment has received too many negative votes show
PalinMcCainDotCom 3 years ago

I doubt it. If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all.
wildheart5 3 years ago
I was ashamed when I heard both their responses on the issue. I am a firm believer that ALL Americans should have the same rights. My cousin is gay, and has had a relationship with a man for the past 7 years, I would love it if they could legally marry. If you love someone you should be able to marry them.
I would also like to thank you for the 10 years you spent defending our country.
dupontchic24 3 years ago

Holy Shit... Thank you my friend. You are a hero to me. Thank you for your bravery you gave this country. I appreciate you!

When you start to talk about gay americans in the military.. I stated to cry.. SOOO FUCKING TRUE... Who get's handle their dog tags if they die fighting for a freedom they will never recieve.
ItalianStallionette 3 years ago 4
Thank you! who will fight for them...who will bury them, where will they get buried...an american died for our country, but our country only see's a gay man or womyn...not a hero..

Believe it or not, this singly issue raises questions about their character and I'm strongly considering voting for Ralph Nader, if only just to protest.
edwardvondoom 3 years ago
Yeah... I don't get the whole Palin my friend crap.
