Buy one of each like I did. The Pure drive standard GT 58 pounds has a lot of power to control. If you have a good swing and top spin and playing at 4.0 or better, no problem with making corner and line shot. The aero pro at 60 pounds is easy to play with. Just lay into it and the ball moves hard and low. It has a fast serve as well. It's the person behind the racket. Make a switch to help your game when your feeling a little off pace. Aero pro is easier to play with, lots of spin. PD is my #1
ive been playing with more controlable raquets like the wilsons n the heads but i think no ive brought a pure drive ive made a massive step up in terms of power and in my gerneral game:) but it does take qiute a while to get use to
@gatesofpearl i see ur point but u have to look at ur game and identify what styles u have before u can say which is better, and this goes for every1, people be careful on what type of racket u buy, make sure it applies to ur style and do not buy it just cuz u see how well a pro uses it :)
The Aeropro is generally better, because if you have a powerful shot normally, it'll just give you extra top spin and accuracy. Whereas if you were to get the Pure drive it's just a racket that has all power and nothing else.
YES! the pure drive is EXACTLY what i thought it was..i like attacking with alot of power from da baseline so maybe da pure drive IS a racket i want..
the only sure way to know if its fake or not is to pop off the buttcap, and if it is very evenly built and is high quality, where as a fake is very random looking with nails and looks pretty cheap
The Pure Drive is not a head heavy, it's a head light like the AeroPro Drive and weights about the same. I guess the only different is the shape of the shaft. It's probably a matter of taste and style that you like the more traditional one or the more aero-friendly one.
yehh i got the aero pro drive, i find it easy to put great top spin power shots with it, it really suits my game perfectly because of my power serve then i can also change up to a bit of spin XD
sorry, with the custom engraving option. Im hoping they got the plus as im 6" 3, but i really cant wait. I need to imrpove my baseline play and play an all round game, using topspin, slice and net play. The aero pure seems perfect for my game !
I have the old style pure drive 360, and used it competitively for 5 years, I didnt even replace the strings, however they finally broke last week :(
I have always been a babolat man, but had a yonex for control, and a browning omen for power, its actually a nice racquet. However, I still prefer old trusty pure drive
Now though, I have just been bought the aero pure drive from my friends as a 21st gift, and it should be here in a few days
you've got an old pure drive team. i love that racket! it's really nice. i just recently got the new cortex, and it plays nice; but im not gonna give my old pure drive team away. nice vid BTW
the PDR is the combo. I feel like having enough spin hitting withh it. the power is also enough, not too much like the Pure Drive 107.
Well, if u wanna do crazy spin ground strokes like nadal, go for Aeropro. It's REALLY FAST!!!! i can easily achieve 80mph head speed with it.
No racket is perfect. Unless u buy 3 rackets, Pure Drive, Aero, K factor and put them on ur back. in the match just pull one out based on what shot u wanna hit xD
Yo! nice video. I just bought the pure drive a few days ago and its awesome. but i had a head titanium racket for one year and using the pure drive is amazing. my serves has improved a lot. but its kind of hard to get used to. lol. i am now thinking that i wished i got the aeropro drive instead. which one do you like better? do you think i should return it and get the aeropro? because i am a player that loves both power and spin. so please someone tell me what i should do. thank you.
Well, I am no expert at Babolats racquet line but if I had to take a stab at answering your question I would suggest the pure drive with a quality string.
I'm assuming your looking for a balance between the two. A good polyester string can offer a great deal of spin. I recently started to string my aero pros with a string called sigma pro poly. You may have seen this particular string, it's orange in color.
ya lol my coach is like screaming at me to do USTA now lol cause i been owning him in rallies (due to powershots) but he always owns me with his sick slices
omg lol the control was incredible. the stick for the backhand was a great feel
powerwise- to be honest h-wave generated the same power, but it has an incredible feel and i actually did my first 100mph serve with it (my coach clocked it)
o ok my bad, bro. I have a question. I have an oversize Babolat racquet, call the 'Aero Blast' and it does REALLY bad when i'm up at the net. is the pure drive good for the majority at the net? if not, do u have a reccomendation? thanks.
o ok i got two handed. but i been playing standard measurements for about 6 years with my h-wave, i dont want that kinda adjustment. My plan is just to get standard with heavy head lead (for serving consistency)
LMAO today i played with my h-wave against my brother who used our dad's racket (its ancient... period). so ya he said he also loved the grip i use and he said it doesnt give the same rip that it use to give during his varsity seasons in high school
ya cause im a lefty and i use that "lefty spin" to my advantage :P so thats why i think i should be rather looking for an all-around racket than rather a top spin machine aka "aeropro"
I would say people who use a two handed backhand should go for a plus because it has more room. and people who who have a one handed backhand just use a standard
ya same. like my coach said i seem solid so i shouldnt even bother with the dampener. He said my racket is decent, but all my friends call me old school cause its the wilson h-wave :P so im gonna probably get the babolat pure drive with a couple of pairs of VS team/Xcelpower (im using my bday money from years past :P)
Sometimes being old school will open your eyes to what is good and what isn't. I am interested in your progress with the pure drive, coming from the Wilson h-wave.
Good man, save up your money and spend of on tennis :D
thanks man im planning on getting Pure Drive, i have around 250 dollars i can spend on making it amazing with hybrids. Im already set for an overgrip, i dont use a dampener for any of my racket, is that bad?
In my opinion, whether or not a player should use a dampener is totally up to them. In the long run it will help you through that 3 setter because it does save your arm.
I personally don't use one, I was never introduced to the concept.
wait im planning on getting the pure drive. it also suppose to have decent string. Im gonna hybrid it with a couple of luxilion and i got 2 overgrips that i use for my racket now. I just want much more power than my old wilson h-wave (only worth 70 now, use to be worth 150 or so in its prime)
ya vollies are my weakest part of the game, barely improved on after months with practice with my coach. i have power, but i truly lack consistency in vollies. In spin wise, top spin and slice, I develop it quite nicely naturally. So spin i can easily handle.
Ooops, sorry disregard the previous reply. I misread your comment, lol.
Well I have only played with the aeropro drive, I never played with the plus. However I have tried both the regular and plus versions of the pure drive racquet.
Although there is a difference between the regular and plus, it's very small. If you feel your at a disadvantage when reaching the ball or have a difficult time with stretch, I would say go with the plus.
wow u have the old pure drive. It sucks compared to the new pure drive that has the cortex. i dont think cortex does anything but the new one is not head heavy and has a much better feel than the old one that you have.
nice review bro..!!

What have you heard/do you know about the Babolat Y tennis racquets? Better or not than your Babolat racquets? Worth the price?

the Y rackets are like Granny Rackets. If your starting out, go for it.
If you are more advanced, go with the Pure Drive or Aero Pro

Strings such as the sigma pro offer a great deal of bite on the ball in turn dramatically increasing spin.
Hope this helped somewhat.

You should play really well with this racquet. There will be no sacrificing power from the h-wave to the pure drive.

just so u know i think the aeropro drive is overall better
the pure drive is GREAT for serves and vollies but thats about it
the aerorpo drive is a little harder to serve with but once u adjust its great
but then again its all up 2 u
ForgedAnonymous17 3 years ago
the aeropro is also much better at baseline shots and has good control on volies to
it seems like u think it sacrifices power for spin but it doesnt
(and srry for double posting)
ForgedAnonymous17 3 years ago
You raise a good point. Perhaps the pure drive can be just as big of a threat as the aero with spin. Maybe with the right player, you never know!
