Bought a 88 VW Fox GL off my friend after he got in a accident for $350, after I get back from Boot camp in the middle of June and have some money I'm going to start the long process of restoring it. Probably going to shave the door handles cause they keep breaking on me.

Hay..this car is not Availible in Germany but its mixed..by usual cars we have here..tha back is from the jetta the front is like the Passat...or Golf 1. the Steereing wheel from ouer polo...an so on...very cool and nice car they ve build for the U.S.....
yes I know I'm pretty excited my dad has to talk to his friend at work about it to see what we can do. New engine/breaks/suuppperrr clean I'm not going to mod it much I'm going to use it as my DD
I do like the round european round likes! Maby i'll convert my other black vw fox to the European style lights. I want to move to England eventally... and take the blue Fox with me :D
why would you want to move to england for ? its like a socialist gov't there & everything is super expensive,13 dollars cup of coffee, they even make you pay a toll everyday just to drive in your own city? congestion pricing , the english govt "needs to be smashed" its out of controll !!!! :P
I'm hopefully going to be getting a 93 fox soon when I save up a lil more to get it from this guy. It's going to need a new radiator tho...o well thats only about $100.

Hey very nice, in beautiful shape. I'm partial to the 4 doors myself. I like the 2 doors. Love foxs. I got two now. An 87 and an 89. My friend is probably going to be giving me his 93 4 door in not too long. It is cosmetically destroyed. Rusted horribly. Hate to say it but it's not worth trying to rescue, but it has the Difigant fuel system so I am going to jack the engine and fuel system and put it in my 89. Maybe will put a chevy small block in the 93 after though. Can you say insane?
I had a 1993 fox and the guy below is right, its UGLY but I tried to run that car into the ground and it would not die! I even jumped it and sence the car was so slow you could floor it everywhere you went. That car could take one hell of a beating and when I sold it, it drove as good as when I bought it.
vw fox ugly as fuck but when you drive it, you just fall in love, yours is in a very nice shape, i have a 89 fox wolfsburg edition, sucks that wolfsburg edition is still made in Brazil not in Germany:(
Very nice car. I had one "93 model here in Brazil, almost identical (called here VW Voyage). At that time fox was made in Argentina, but the engine is still brazillian built (1.8l).
As far as I can see, the only diference between US' foxes and mine is the seat coverings (americans were better), but the very same were available to the station (called VW Parati). Optionals were the lower fog/mist lights and the metallic wheels.
I know it was stored in a garage for like 8 years :) And an old lady owned it before who died. Its an amazing car :) lol no thanks :P What type of car do you drive?
2007 Ford Ranger, pretty good trade really but I need it for my job unfortunately, otherwise very tempting cuz that's a rare one in excellent shape whereas mine's rather common.

Mines just hit 137k runs like a champ, A/C works,heat works, goes into every gear and still gets 30 mpg.
Plus it's pretty quick, and everyone looks at like wtf is that?

@newvicon In Brazil this cars name is Voyage, hatchback is called Gol, the pickup Saveiro, and the wagon Parati.
The new fox is called Novo Voyage (New Voyage) and you can see it in this video:

keep it original ,but change the headlights to the european/brazil market, (OEM)headlights they throw out better light then the u.s. export lights do

Sadly, i did a mistake when writing. Fox production finished in Brazil by late 90s.
