Those extra 2 tracks, which 1 is next to the local track and the other is on the bronx bound side, are used to lay up trains... aka store them for temporary use. Normally the (B) would use it during midday service

dam i wanna be at that station yo that station has alot of tracks in the middle like 3 or 4 rite??? yooo tha r40 slant looks hot and all loud and the A express wasall slow it was slower then the B in the start in the movie...lol nice though really i love it
