  • fl studio yup yup

  • damn bruh, u did ya thang on here. check me out. maybe we can collab

  • Beat's cute, but Sufjan Stevens is 100x better producer than this guy. I'm largely biased on this point but I don't understand how hip-hop producers can take samples from tracks that already have great production value and are only recently released. Where do you draw the line though? I guess I have a love/hate relationship with sampling.

  • @ALTRDSTATES you dont draw a line. you make no boundries. i love to sample but i often edit the samples so much that it sounds nothing like it, thats fun.

  • The sample is Sufjan Stevens - Vesuvius

  • The first beat before he sped it up is from a song before "Donald Trump". Does anyone know the name of this song?

  • @iluffcows Best Day Ever

  • @Deez777777 it's definitely not best day ever

  • @iluffcows meant to say "get up" i always think donald trump is track 2

  • wat speakers are those?

  • What laptop

  • @musicflowable HP Pavillion dv7

  • What laptop?

  • ahhheeeerrrrraaarrghghgh.... it makes me sleepy.

  • The monitors you are using, which brand and model is that?

  • Mac miller wouldn't be anything without this man.

  • haa i got dat same g-shock boi

  • where did he get the sample from?

  • Check out my page the more subscribers I get the better beats I'll release on my page!!!!

  • I respect the cat, but I just feel like sampling is all about stumbling on the right loop and then having basic drum programming skills. This may just be because I do my beats from scratch with the keyboard, but I definitely feel that it takes more skills to construct a song by yourself than simply speeding up a loop and laying drums on it. Thats just my opinion though. Respect to the dude, he's doin his thing. One Love.

  • he looks like mike tyson lol

  • @sarzinho blind? ..lol

  • Samples is coo only a couple times...not 4 a nigga to keep using samples...my shit come from scratch...shit thats in my head...I ain't knockin nobody that mixs do u...but talented producers create there own sound...yadidda

  • this may be the most faith-in-humanity-downsizing video EVER

  • What's the name of the sample?

  • That beat is tuff as shit!

  • @cappuchyno what studio monitors do you have? .please thanks.

  • i like to hear beats like alchemists hold u down(currently one of my favorites) or beats with chops from different parts of a sample. I was wrong to knock on sap cus of this beat cus i know many of the great hip hop producers have looped. I just feel like hip hop production should be more than just a loop and some drums. Im surrounded by friends and family who hate hip hop and im sick of not being able to hold up an argument for why it should be respected just as much as any other genre.

  • @RAAB0601 I totally agree with you on both your points. Quincy Jones was an insanely great producer. Ant of Atmosphere now mimics his style as far as getting different musicians in the studio, listening to what they have to play and then taking what parts he wants to build on, then building a hip hop beat around that. Yes, I agree that Hip Hop should get more creative as time goes on and add their own musical production on the samples.

  • @hollakmix Bottom line, like Expresswaynic said, if you can make all your shit outta scratch, more ups to you, but sampling is still an art form that shows a producers love and know how of good music combined with his own arrangement of drums, bass, fx's, etc. In the end, I think the best Hip Hop is expressed through lyrics and that's what sets this Genre apart from all others. At least 3x's the amount of lyrics than any other genre.

  • @hollakmix Combine dope rhyme schemes, great song themes, and a well rounded beat and you got hip hop at its finest. Sorry bout the overload of posts!!

  • @hollakmix Well said. But dont you have an issue with the profanity and useless bragging and boasting in even the great rappers lyrics. I've been on kind of a break from hip hop for a month or so now and listening to folkish rock stuff old and new has really made me think about the lyrics in rap nowadays. I love hip hop and always will but how can u argue that rap is a respectable genre while comparing bob dylans lyrics to mac miller's. There are only a few rappers I can proudly stand behind.

  • @RAAB0601 Yeah, but it's hard to compare Bob Dylan's Lyrics to anyone!!! I like Mac. You need dudes like him (Wiz, Chiddy Bang) in Hip Hop to keep it fresh and fun. What you're talking about you can get in MainStream with Lupe, some Kanye, and now J Cole. Where it's really at is RhymeSayers Ent. lead by Atmosphere. Also check out Wax and Knocksteady Entertainment (specifically Intuition and Dumbfounded)

  • @hollakmix Ill def check them out. Im listening to artists like bon iver, sufjan stevens, and andrew bird. Im listening to their lyrics i just feel like there's so much more behind them than in most hip hop songs. Even with J Cole(i need to do more research)but even from his one hit single 'work out', the lyrics arent very good. well on my scale at least. Some people love the clever wordplay. I just want a story to be told and lyrics to have meaning.I think that's rare in hip hop

  • @RAAB0601 Yeah, that song ain't very good. Marketed towards young girls to make some sales. You gotta dig into J Cole's Mixtapes for his goodshit, Check out "Show Me Something," "Losing my Balance," and "Can I Live" by him. All good stuff

  • @hollakmix Thank you you have no idea how good it makes me feel to know at least one person who is a fan of hip hop (im assuming) agrees with me.

  • Many of the great producers have looped samples that become hits, i recognize that. But can anyone tell me that sap, or really any producer who loops like this, is more talented than producers back in the 70s,80s, and 90s like Quincy Jones? I just think that someone in the 70s who gets paid the same amount sap did for this track is way more talented. Im not attacking anyone, im sick of seeing people cursing me out. Im just saying i wish there was a little more creativity in beats like this.

  • he did use a very simple method for the creation of the beat. it is not hard to throw drums on a sample then looping it. but this doesnt mean hes a bad producer, he just decided to use a simple approach on this particular beat.

  • @KashgroundTM Kanye's talking shit on this comment section? I'm talking to the people on these comments talking smack about sap

  • if its so easy then why arent you selling beats to mac miller? you have to have an ear regardless

  • lol people hatin on him because of how he chose to make the beat

  • So many people on here talking shit..all o have to say is, Where's your hit record if it's so easy? Exactly

  • you can give your stuff to companies to use or itunes.

  • @The75thone there's a bunch of dudes on this site with really good shit.negrosaki,asis,um...that kanye guy,the lupe guy, tyler guy,Mac miller guy,the guy in the video etc you get the point lol

  • It's obviously not easy. If you are talking shit talking about how it's easy blah blah blah, then try to make a dope loop by chopping from an original song. Then add 808's, kicks, snares, hats, etc which all complement the sample you choose. Actions speak louder than words. BTW how are you going to criticize him for taking sample when Kanye West, one of the biggest icons in music alive, used nothing but samples in his music and not only one per song but several? Shut the fuck up.

  • @RAAB0601 sampling is more about having the ear to find a song that has potential and transforming the rough diamond into a real diamond...I agree that it does not require superduper skills for the transformation but you need to be innovative and imaginativ...I mean who would have thought that you could make sth like that out of a sufjan stevens song and with miller on it its even more synergetic...so props to sap for the idea

  • BOB THAT HEAD!

  • I don't think it does any producer any good to show people how and what they did to make the beat. Just listen to the dam song and shut the fuck up should be the policy. Actually it drives the price of his beats down

  • are those monitors good to work with ?

  • Wow, this takes nearly no talent at all. Take a loop of someone else's music, put some sample pack (already made) kicks and snares in it and then put one extra synth in, just to really take the piss. He doesn't even need a studio...or a powerful computer to handle all the separate sounds (cause it isn't well layered), he just uses a laptop to EQ,Mix and Master...

  • any sofware is good if you kno how to use it, bless

  • wack attack'in my ear canals

  • wow he literally did not make one part of the beat himself

  • congratulations for the work crazy

    system 157 brasil gangsta

  • at least his hat is dope

  • I don't understand why rappers can't have a guitar, bass, keyboard, and drum track. Look at the Roots, if they can do it so can other. So, don't be afraid if your a rapper and play an instrument, because that will give me a reason to buy your album. If your lyrics also have a positive message, that will also sell me the album.

  • whats with the laptop producers recently ? lmao

  • somebody always gotta hate

  • Blue slide park had the boringest beats evveerrrr

  • @KingFlowProductions I totally agree and im a HUGE mac miller fan.......no offense mac but BSP wasnt the greatest.......really dope but not the greatest....

  • I give him props for getting a spot on a major album. I have made looped beats in the past and didn't figure out the road to success. As with most artists, I give you props for figuring that out. Music is easy compared to business :-) good job.

  • i thought MY monitors were wack.

  • No need to step your game up with a hot loop like that, shut the fuck up RAAB! Haters everywhere.

  • Beats by dre?! In a studio?! And I see no acoustic treatment or anything what's this haha

  • Your a talented producer..

  • this kid's sick

  • hey guys help.my beats sound really fucking blocky how do i smooth them up like asis galvin's stuff or 9th wonder?

  • @KashgroundTM dont quantize everything. use nothing shorter than 4 Bar Loops. Use Breaks and Fill-Ins. Hope this was helpful

  • @amazeHannover fl studio should have a more precise pattern length like instead of just 4,5,6,7 on the top left of the rectangle sequencer it should have decimals so the loop can end at a better position. That way No one would have to edit a loop using song mode which can be a pain in the ass.

  • @KashgroundTM Convert, freeze or render the pattern to wav. Use a sampler and edit the sample to any length you want. Trigger it where you want it.

  • @amazeHannover nevermind i figured out what you meant lol it worked for mell kinzo

  • omg those monitors sound horrible.

  • @Stackxxable maybe the camera´s mic is just crap

  • Hey Bro, is that FL Studio ?

  • Wow, not really a beat to be proud of, he just looped it. Step your game up "sap". I hope Sufjan Stevens gets paid alot for that sample. Beats like this make hip hop production look bad/easy.

  • @RAAB0601 The artist pays for samples not the beat maker.

  • @mydadcankillurs I dont really care who pays.

  • @RAAB0601 You sure do akt like it. XP

  • @mydadcankillurs huh? I said I hope he gets paid for the sample. not I hope Sap pays him for the sample. and its act not akt, learn how to spell.

  • @RAAB0601 Some of the best producers like j dilla and 9th wonder sample and loop stuff...its takes a true genius to know what to sample and how to use it..so mad respect to Sap bruh

  • @Tragik216 Yes some of the best have looped. I disagree that it takes a true genius to do it though. J dilla and 9th are geniuses for their other work. Also on their beats that are looped I think its pretty safe to say that the sample is pretty rare. Sap here sampled a song that was released a year earlier by a major artist. Yes great producers have done it in the past but it certainly isn't something to be proud of. Mad props? Not alot of creativity went into that, thats all im saying.

  • @RAAB0601 i was just saying that

  • @RAAB0601 i dont understand if it was that easy you do it, and make a huge hit

  • @BelowGrounded Its about respecting other artists music. If you going to sample someone, make it your own and add a creative twist to the beat. Even though sufjan stevens gets paid for the sample, sap is still cashing in on his music. The older generation hates sampling so much because guys like sap here just take 4 bars of their music and just loop it. Do you think it took much talent to do this? I dont

  • @RAAB0601

its not just "take 4 bars of music and loop it"

he had to choose an appealing song out of millions, warp it, chop it like he wanted it, add certain audio effects to it (changing different parameters within that audio effect), i could go on. but then again, my point is, u aint got shit on him. he made a hit, u didnt. bl.

  • @IshidaHarukaa I think your exaggerating a little bit. the only "warping" he did and audio effects was pitching the sample up. yes some credit goes to the producer for finding the sample, and many great producers have done similar beats. I just dont like when they do that. I love hip hop and always will but a part of me agrees with the older generation that rips on todays music. You could say that someone in the 70s who got paid the same amount on a song that sap did is 10x more talented.

  • @RAAB0601

I guess everyones got their opinions. I respect your perspective (70s music and all) but then again, its something you should keep to yourself and just not listen to his music.

  • @IshidaHarukaa Thanks for the respectful comment.

  • @RAAB0601 Sounds to me like your hating ! lmao He's doing his thing, he made a hit, you didn't so shut up and enjoy the music . Don't matter if you have a key board or drum pad kuz most of the sounds come from other instraments that you dont play, so stop being a HYPOCRITE .

  • @purple5484 First of all, learn how to spell and people will respect your opinion a little bit more. I dont even understand your point at the end. How am I a hypocrite? I just think this beat lacks any creativity on saps part.

  • @RAAB0601 who gives a fuck... sufjan stevens is shit

  • @thisisyaren lol you must not like the song then because hes basically the producer.

  • @RAAB0601 nope... see this has been turned out to be good... in general speaking i just dont like sufjan stevens... i dont like justin beiber but ive heard his shit made into a way to rip out

  • @RAAB0601 dawg stop HATING if its so simple why didnt you make it. he sat down thought of how to make it sound fun and he did his shit so stop wiv all this nonsense about making HipHop look bad. if you gonna say that then go tell Kanye,Battlecat etc to stop making good music *sarcastic face*

  • @RAAB0601 Where are your beats? I don't know why you find it reasonable to waste your time typing shit, music is music learn to appreciate it, and if you don't like it, it doesn't mean it's bad it's just not for you. Food for thought

  • @RAAB0601 Anything creative is easy...to the artistic that is intrinsically gifted in that area. Were we supposed to watch him miss the loop, stumble over snares and drop his laptop? This man is signed to Universal Cool & Dre. This beat is fire and went gold-iindie! Loops are the basis of hip hop beats. It's not jazz or R&B with intricate changes. A billion people sample/loop beats everyday. But a billion people can't make you feel it! If it's so easy why isn't everyone as successful?

  • @RAAB0601 Buncha dope beats in Hip Hop are created on this same premise. Actually, almost all. Check Out Cube's "It was a Good Day," Dre "California Love," Most of Biggie's Joints, "Hypnotize," and "Juicy." It's what made Hip Hop what it is. My hat goes off to all those who get more intricate with their samples (J Dilla), but most all other producers sample on a loop basis. Check out "C.R.E.A.M" By the the Wu or "Can I Kick It" by Tribe. Both four bar loops and two of the Dopest Beats in Hip Hop

  • @hollakmix Furthermore, those last two examples had sample's that weren't manipulated in anyway. You gotta dig a bit deeper into Hip Hop, Homie

  • @hollakmix well you do make a good point.

  • @hollakmix hats off to you for your comment, people seem to have beef with looping, but like you said some of the dopiest beats in hip hop came from looping, but yeah cat like Dilla took sampling to a new level! much love man peace!

  • @hollakmix but the thing is that in the old days they added extra layers on the loop eg.bass drums horns etc etc, not just simply loops.

  • @xyoungwx Yeah, some just added drums, some a lil more. But if you watch this, he added new drums and a melody with that synth. I mean, I ain't balls to the wall on defending this dude, I'm simply saying his process is very similar to a lot of well known, oldschool producers. Check Out the Ice Cube Remix of "Check Yo Self" as well as Puffy and Mase's "Can't Hold Me Down," both exactly the same beat as Grandmaster Flash's "The Message." Like it or not, shit like this has always been in Hip Hop

  • @RAAB0601 you try to fucking make it. I bet you couldnt even get the fucking tempo right for looping. And half of the art of sampling is having the ear to hear a sample that will sound crisp.

  • See he's workin in FL Studios and Acid.. i work in Both of those too.. Pretty Koo, but I Like Reasons and Pro Tools

  • Baddddddddddddddddddddd -.-

  • sufjan!

  • sick! you looked like a different person when you took your hat off near the end...

  • Not a huge fan of Mac Miller...too much of a douchebag. And he always jumps around like an idiot, but I need to give props to Sap...ILL production.

  • @pfoe007 4:37 proves it.

  • what type of speakers are those?

  • @DICKCHINHARY they look like dynaudio or esi but esi is shit so im guessing dynaudio?

  • This video didn't really show how he made it, it just showed what sounds he used. We could already hear that without this video.

  • @OTIVrecords haha

  • What program is this with?

  • I personally hate fl studio. Coming from Ableton, Samplitude,Cubase & Reason, I felt I had to unlearn alot of mouse movements, shortcuts, etc and just gave up. Not for me. That said, I've also heard some incredible stuff done entirely in FL. The best DAW is the one that agrees with you. Period.

  • @deadhenderson which would you recommend for someone just starting up with producing?

  • @CalciumMoonCheese For me, I would say Ableton Live. It can be simple to learn and, as you progress in your workflow, it can be pretty deep. It's audio editing capabilities could be improved and I wouldn't master with it, but overall, it's damn close to being a one-in-all DAW. It's got elements of Reason, ACID, Cubase, et al. in it. Also, if you're brand new-maybe give FL a shot. My only knock on it is that it didn't agree w/ ME. It's still a very cool program. Try a demo.

  • @deadhenderson thanks a lot for the advice man. i'll check it out

  • @deadhenderson I've used almost every DAW except Logic. and Ableton is the weirdest hardest to learn. Cubase is decent, it came with my interface. Fl is the best work flow and easiest to get an idea down. Sequoia and Samplitude are the most in depth and powerful, but require upgraded hardware. Reason sounds good but is the most limited, and work flow is horrible. Pro tools sux, for everything. I used to hate FL, but Some reason, I just kept going back to it. Now it's my Fav.

  • @jtmagicman25 No one has ever had to buy upgraded hardware for Samplitude. One of their major selling points from back in the day was exactly that - it was entirely PC coded to not rely on "hardware as dongle" design (obviously referencing PT HD.).

  • @deadhenderson No, no, I meant it would run better with DSP cards and other ways to keep the cpu load smaller. with my setup, I get a lot of audio dropouts and lost buffers. even on my highest buffer setting. I use a lot of vsti's and they are cpu intensive. I can use twice as many plugins or more in FL studio than any other DAW and still get lower latency. I love Samplitude, It's just like my system doesn't. I love the design and flexibility of Magix too. their plugins are sweet

  • @jtmagicman25 I see what you're saying. I sure don't have the most powerful system. SAM can be pretty unforgiving in that regard. Luckily, between object editing/freeze & track/channel bouncing, it's all good. I've read posts about how efficient FL is. That's cool. All my beats and stuff start w/ Reason rewired into Ableton. Those programs are pretty easy on my system. A song ain't a song 'til I finish 'em in Samplitude, though.

  • @deadhenderson I have to say, mastering in samplitude is a great idea. putting together an album would be a lot less of a chore and kind of fun too.

  • @deadhenderson Hey do U use Ableton aLot

  • @Lyfestyle4God Hell yeah.

  • @deadhenderson NICE... So Ableton's Dope? I've Known Quite a few people to work in Ableton.. I had just the demo so it wasn't the full version..

  • @deadhenderson its not about what you use. But how you make music. We can get into details, on how reason IS better than FL...among others, but all in all, if the right mind is not behind the wheel, your car will crash head first.. if not.. be ready for a great ride!

  • @deadhenderson i know what you're talking about. I love fl studio. i have tried reason and seen alot of abelton, but i just like fl best. its all about what fits you best. the one thing thats bugging me, is people saying fl studio is "unprofessional", just because lots of kids pirate-download it and make crappy beats and put them on youtube and stuff.

  • @Puddelpai FL gets a bad rap in that regard. I actually used to call it F- "El Stupido" because of all the garbage I heard over the years. Some kid would jump on a forum somewhere saying "----------- sux, FL is the best!", kinda rubbed me the wrong way. But then, when 8 or 9 came out, I took a serious look at a demo and some tutorials. That's when I realized how powerful a DAW it actually is. I don't use it, but I'll never hate on it again, either.

  • he has a headphone from dr.dre!!

  • @alexandermossoux .......................

  • wat is the name of the sound he sampled

  • word!!! its not the equipment that make hits!!!!!!! its the the one producing it!!!!!!!!

(though the better equiptment the easier it is to get there) one!!!!!!!!!

  • Dope ass beat!!.......pretty much the only good song on that BDE mixtape(worst mixtape ever)...........all mixtapes mac did before this one are dope!!

  • can everyone check out the beat whats ive just finishes thnks

  • which audio monitors is he using

  • He looks like Jay-Z mixed with Swizz Beats...

  • What is the name of the sample he used? It sounded beast.

  • check out my beats!! samples

  • hater mad cuz mac got paid a million for a 6 minute beat bhaha ..haters smhh step your game up..lol

  • ok......thats all???where is creative part when u flip the sample add bass and synths?

  • on me i got that same hp dv7

  • Wow so many haters, ridiculous, yes he sampled, and proved that FLstudio is just as good as any other program, its all in creativity !!!

  • what the hell its going on ?????? he loop the sample and??? thats Iiigth folks how many classic beats there are just with loop samples and drums common you haiting on this guy cause all of you are producer and couldn´t get the chance to work with this guy ........ you fucking critics are WACK just in case he made that beat that its on point

  • I Remember In The 90s They Either Loved It Or Not Just Shut The Hell Up N Listen

  • HE GOT THE TALENT TO GET MONEY...THAT ALL THE TALENT THAT MATTERS

  • @t77bone people like you are exactly why the games fucked up as it is... soulja boy has the talent to get money too... right? so u fuck wit soulja? lml

  • Ha not hate n but son all you did was put percussion over a damn loop. Show a vid of an actual creation!

  • ye, this track didn't take much effort, but still a pretty cool track. check out the beats on my page, let me know what y'all think!

  • If it sounds good and moves people i don't see what the problem is...it's just music man. Don't get stressed over it. Sometimes I need to approach a song from a listener's point of view rather than a producers technical point of view (which mine is pretty limited to begin with)...all i know is that a bunch of kids out there are enjoying this track. period.

  • I'm not in to mainstream music and I can appreciate producers much more then rappers, yeah this beat isn't the greatest but it was good enough to sell millions. When you can do that then you can have the privilege to talk shit, dude saying he didn't even chop up the sample, so? Pete Rock, DJ Premier, Kanye, they don't always chop up their samples. Let the kid be man, he's doing his thing.
