  • My ASUS laptop performed greatly when it worked... only had it for 3 weeks, BSODS like crazy, gotta send it in for repairs now without a warranty, since it just ran out.

ASUS support sucks and I'm not just saying that out of my personal inconveinance with this situation, they were quick to blame me for the known problem, and quick to get me off the phone. I asked if the random BSODs were a known issue, they said no, but its posted all over ASUS support forums, and other tech forums.

  • I bought an ASUS gaming laptop (i7 processor, 1gb ATI video, 4GB Ram), about 3 weeks ago, about 2-3 days after receiving the laptop I got a BSOD, couple days later surfing youtube I got another BSOD, then last sunday I got 5-6 BSODs in the same day, all hardware failure, error code 0x00000124.

When you call ASUS support, everytime it was some person who could barely speak english, and they were quick to tell me it was my fault, and send it in.

Random BSODs are a common problem with ASUS.

  • nice

  • why would anyone buy a mac when laptops like this exist?

  • @Ak47x360 prejudice. and lack of knowledge OR developing for iOS, and to become rich.

  • Hey, everybody. I was thinking about purchasing the ASUS N61JQ-XV1 from Amazon. I was just wondering if anyone else had done so or purchased a similar model from a different online site. The Amazon site only shows the computer with a European keyboard. This sounds stupid, I know, but the N series comes with an American keyboard when shipped to America, right? Thanks for your help!

  • @orangeman4242 I bought the same model, don't get it. ESPECIALLY if it doesn't have a warranty, if you buy used, you need proof of purchase, and all the fun details from original owner when it comes to sending it in for repairs and getting extended warranty.

Random BSODs are a common problem with ASUS, I would know, I just bought the same model, the guy had it less than a year, perfect condition, I got it with a clean install (legit) Windows 7, got BSODs after 2-3 days of use.

  • asus please realease the n61 with the 740qm in europe i cant wait to have it, and also it should have a updated graphics card like a 5770 and backlight keyboard, but thats ok, im going to buy it anyway ;D

  • I got one (N61VN - JX066V 16'') and a friend of mine got a diferent one (K70IC 17'') and mine is much better, faster gaming and way better graphics until now im very pleased even tough i still didnt used it much. Good machine.

  • does the n61jq still have a cool trackpad and left side of the keyboard?

  • Does anyone know where i can get the WHITE one?

  • @motyrev the white version is only marketed in asia, Canada get the brown one, US get the black one

  • @paapiipuu no not realy i have the white one of this Notebook ^^ And I´m from Germany...

  • anyone know how gta 4 will run on this? i don't know shit about computers :D

    it requires 1.5GB memory, 256MB nvidia 7900 / 256MB ati X1900, intel core 2 duo 1.8Ghz, AMD athlon x2 64 2.4 Ghz........ help me please? xD

  • @sindreS92 yeah, absolutely

  • thanks for bullshit, give me my money back! i cant even play games from 2002 (warcraft 3) without it lags on lowest settings

  • @TranzoBoy what?

  • @filipfromNW what i wrote means that it cant play even play games......

  • @TranzoBoy bullshit with i5 and nvidia 320m you can play Fear 1 no problem, pes, fifa and all of those

  • @filipfromNW then please tell me why it runs so bad

  • @TranzoBoy i dont know

  • This or the macbook pro?

  • @ArchCaRxXX This.

  • @ArchCaRxXX absolutely macbook pro.

  • wtf, the specs are a lot different to what i have found, latest N60 comes with the Intel Core i7 720QM (niiice), ATi 5760m 1GB dedicated graphics, 4GB DDR3 1066Hz RAM, 640GB 5400 rpm HDD... 16" screen

well, maybe im looking at a newer version? or coz im in Australia, its a different version to the US? (thats usually the problem lol)

  • @blankpaper66 5760? where at/. i just bought this laptop 2 days ago and i got the 5730 (core i7 ofcourse)........frak! i want 5760! lol how much is it tho?

  • @sanjeevprasad116 I think I made a typo and meant the 5730. lol

  • One word.

    Amazing.

  • Gonna buy the n61 just gotta know one thing.

Its ok at gaming isnt it?

Just wanna play a few online gamers like l4d2, nothing fancy as ive got my ps3 for that.?

  • really hard to find the N71Vn-A1 , i guess gonna get the N61Vn-a1 grrrrrr

  • I want to know this too, im in the exact same boat

  • I have this laptop,and I can play l4d2 with kick-ass graphics!

With a cpu intel core2 quad q9000 @2.00GHz, and a graphicard nvidia gforce gt 240m cuda @ 1GB DDR3 you can play almost everything!!

    Go 4 it!

  • I got n61 vg and i play crysis, far cry 2, modern warfare 2 on medium to high with absolutely no lag

  • @arsenalfckkri its average for gaming, you'll probably be able to play these games on medium settings with some lag and itll be impossible to play on high without getting mad at lag, because it has a 220 m gpu its more in the low end as opposed to the higher end 240, 260, and 280X gpu's

  • @arsena;fckkri, im thinking of getting one too, they come with the ATi 5760m, so that should be alright, nothing too special, but pretty good, 1GB dedicated graphics lol.. well, at least the one im looking at has the ATi..

  • This is even better than the UL Series i own!!!...Asus is on the top of my list!!!

  • I just boug this one, at first sight nice one. Will review more about it. First testing. Setting up windows7 was just 10 to 15 minutes and it was complete

  • i just got one at best buy yesterday for like 800 after optimization. It is like a dark maroon color. Asus kicks ass!

  • @0:17--0:19ish just screams "Apple iPod Ad"

Can't wait to pick up my new Asus though!

  • The N61VN also has a backlit keyboard!

  • how do you know? just the brown laptop for both white and brown ones?

  • Not the one I got =(

    N61VN-A2

  • When will the white one be available? So far i only see the brown ones for sale.

  • Recommend the N61Vn laptop.. You get alot of hardware for the money and design.

I didn't see any bugs or had not any lagg from the Asus software's like HP and Dell has with their softwares.

The Windows 7 with everything installed, I saw no problems, and the computer is runningn flawless!

Best laptop I've bhought so faar and I have had two laptops before.

    Thanks Asus! :D

  • I have ordered the Asus N61Vn .. Cant WAIT!! Asus is making my day easier :)

  • me too bro ... cant wait for that 240 gt m!! and that speakers

  • I have the N71, the best laptop I've ever owned. And I had the Macbook Pro mid range model. Flawless Performance, and gestures make life easy. <3 icecool palm rest

  • I own a N51V that I am so happy with. It doesnt have some of these features but it has all the good stuff like GeForce GT240 with 1gb of vid ram and then its a duocore 2.8ghz and then I added a 128GB SSD drive. My computer Rawks! The only thing with Asus that I think is flakey are the altec lansing speakers but then to me all laptop speakers sound like crap and the 8 sec express boot? Get rid of the gimick Asus you provide good Hardware at an excellent price thats all you need to do!

  • WOW NICE! i Go BUY ONE!!!

    YEAHH.

  • ahhhhhh MULTI TOUCH!!!! i almost cried...i have an m70 x2, its a powerhouse, but there are features on this i would die for

  • I see they fixed the sound, this wasn't because of my comment was it?

  • i should get 1 already i still have the ASUS A6000 series Entertainment notebook still a old lappy but stil good to use :D

  • sweet, makes me want to get one, using ASUS G1S myself :D
