Is there a way to order a real traditional kukri from outside Nepal. A webpage or something? I have a "jungle" raw kukri, and the blade is very thick and heavy and indeed it is very difficult to work with it for a long amount of time.
@leakyvalve They are all much of the same, and because they are made in Nepal, they are the real deal, but no where near the quality of balance and handling of old, very few kami have that skill left.
@chibraxial, basically you bought a cheap piece of bent metal with an edge on it, shame you obviously know jack shit about kukri, otherwise you wouldn't have bought such a disgraceful kukri design!!
Disgraceful, right? I'm not into mystical stuff, I'm into functional stuff. I already own "high tech" western kukri-type knives and I wanted one that was handmade and affordable.
And I don't see the point of this video, you're comparing X to Y without even giving one reason X is supposed to be better and why Y is supposed to be junk. Please explain ?
@chibraxial, your lack of knowledge about kukri shines through, Krishna Kami kukri are high quality Village Kukri!! which have a huge amount of skill put into them, rather than a crowbar bent with an edge put on it!!
@chibraxial, more frustration, as the khukuri houses in Nepal really do not care about making the quality pieces of old, which out perform their stuff by a mile, in many different ways!!
@chibraxial, the best thing is to go to my forum, torabladesforum.co.uk as there are also many others that can give you an insight as to the why's and ways, and that have owned kukri from various sources to boot.
I have a Cold Steel Kukri. it's perfect. That's all I have to say about that. I do need one longer than 12 inches for clearing heavy jungle in South Alabama. Machete lenth and able to take down large dead trees and chop them up for firewood.
@sirupate, Hi, nice video, really got me thinking. I was wondering, in your opinion, are the kukri knives made by the Khukuri House and sold on their site a ripe off or a gag then? It says, on their site and others I have looked up, that they make the kukris for the Napal military and police force. Just wondering about your thoughts on that.
And where about would you go to get an authentic kukri.
I wouldn't say that, finding kami that are prepared to put the time in, to make kukri like they used to is a problem in Nepal these days, it is almost a forgotten art.
Orders for the military go out to tender every year, and the ones the military buy these days are of a very low standard in terms of balance and shape.
Whats youre thoughts on the AngPana from Khukuri house? Im thinking about getting one,are all there Khukuries just tourist blades or is the one I want a good one?
@MrWer1138, I have just checked the specs on their web sight, it is very heavy for 30.5cm long blade length at 1100 grams, recommended weight is between 450-650 grams depending on style, most Gurkhas like a blade weight around 550 grams, check out this video '1970's Gurkha Bandsman kukri backhand cut'The kukri is a 30.5cm long angkhola stick tang blade, and weighs 473 grams.

As long as it's Panawal (full tang, full profile)and well heat treated spring steel, I'd rather have the thicker export models.
I bought a "Jungle" Panawal from KH and I can't say that I'm not impressed.
