i had a question, i know your into this sort of stuff and thought you would know, on fight science they said samuri warriors were forbidon to use bladed weapons such as the sword which is what led to the bo. is this true, or b.s.?
@superbobbyo from what I have been taught the bo was a result of villagers learning to protect themselves since they were forbidden to use swords. Samurai were not forbidden to bear their swords until the 1870's.
Most of my studies were of Japanese history, it could be different for other countries.
Choson, I've been observing your videos for some time now &, as a fellow master & accomplished martial artist, & fellow true believer & follower of Jesus Christ (blessed be his name), I sense a profound & advanced ability & style that is all your own, yet, I sense also a relatively humble heart within you.I love that about you too!
I feel compelled to warn you not to reveal too much of your art to too many as you are making it too easy for mean-spirited ones to learn these things! God bless you.
you truly are talented in Martial Arts. Maybe one day you will also be called a Master by your pupils. Or are you one already. Best wishes and may you keep walking the path of a true warrior woman. ( i dont know the female word for warrior, im not english :p )
You make it look so easy Janet. ;) What are the certain ties & where are they applied to the sheath or sia. It looks like the top part of the sheath is tied but how does one measure for the loop or is that why there is another tie to shorten & pull the loop in to position once fitted. That's what I'm thinking. I like the way the hand goes back to lift the sword out of the belt but hidden by the head and then the sheath is drawn forword. I like the attention to detail. Thank you Janet. :)
I don't have a cool sword like that to do these type of drills with; but if I did I would surely practice these techniques. To say the least I think that basic foundations such as this are exceptionally great for people to practice, even over the net. So good job! Younger people could even get wooden swords and practice muscle memory with this type/style of teaching. Foundational videos step for people to build the basic muscle memory I enjoy GREATLY.
@actualityisabitch You can easily practice these techniques with a $10 bokken. You don't need a real sword to practice with that you might actually fall on and break or cut yourself with. Especially not just to begin training with.
This bokken I will recommend is a mid-sized bokken that closely resembles the size and shape of a traditional curved Shinobigatana. (ie shorter than a katana, longer than a wakazashi but still curved, not straight).
@actualityisabitch If you prefer the straight ninja-to version I can recommend Sakura Martial Arts. They have a very good price and their shipping is reasonably priced and fast. However, the straight ninja-to bokken is substantially lower quality than the curved ones (doesn't matter who the vendor is, they're all the same, the straight ones are always lower quality unless you have one custom made).
@KunoichiOfChoson it would realy be nice if i could come there andtrain with Master Park is that his name? if not chosenninja. It would realy be worth it all. Can u perhaps tell me more about the school he opened up?
Master Park teaches a lot of people and he chose not to disclose the locations for the student's safety. He had really ugly people make unnecessary threats and comments which forced one public place to close down. Master Park also believes that it's destiny people find him. He said he isn't trying to make money but teach people so let them find him if they want to train.
Besides, he told us not to give any info out and let destiny happen as it should.
@KunoichiOfChoson your kool lol do Yall compete in tournamnts? if so im sure i could meet master Park. I have an idea on wat region that master park is located in but its convinceing my wife and first i would have to save some money lol, realalistcly i thnk id be beter off juss learning from the videos :-( lol. But I am a huge fan of his if a chance opens up again to tran with him pls let me know
Great Demonstration! With both Master Park and yourself posting videos I feel like I am "the crook" the critics talk about, getting all of these useful lessons without paying a dime :D keep up the good work.
Excellent tutorial by both Janet and Master Park! Thank you both.
To further illustrate breakfalls I recommend the video on Falls by user/top0277. He doesn't cover weapon breakfalls and rolls but he does show in detail the use of spread arms and the "ground-slap" technique that certain other people claim is fake and only used for pro wrestling.
Watch his video and you'll see Master Park/Janet is teaching the truth and those other "people" are the true fakes.
really dont matter what dean said he a fool/ your exspainsion is good we all been lable fake but we are not an i do real japanes ninjutsu he dont know his ninjutsu well lololo togakure ryu laught at dean 23 year he still baby at it i have 25 year know more then him but i respect all this real good video keep it up
Wonderful explanation for both Master Greg Park and Janet. The system you have Master Park seems very practical, I like it, thanks for showing and explaining why it is how it is. You got a wonderful smile Janet, keep smiling :).
i really like the way you show us how to do it! its slow so we can follow easy, but i really like to see it in a normal speed. nevertheless its a great video, even though im more interested in bo jutsu and shuriken/kunai
I think that very effective
