  • texas is good at high school football, big east is sopposed to dominate basketball....well ku says differnet rock chalk..... from larned ks

  • Rock Chalk Jayhawk Baby

  • There are Kansas alumni/fans pretty much anywhere you go. I go to KU and have friends from Dallas, San Diego, Chicago, St. Louis, Denver, Miami, Minnesota and a lot of other places. There are probably more out of state students than in state at Ku lol. It's a great place to be! Rock Chalk Jayhawk!

  • @begley9 Not exactly true. A lot of Johnson county kiddos

  • I'm at KU right now and I'm moving to new york in a year. I thought that the only KU fans were the KU students. Cool to see that there are some all over.

  • @KaitlynHooligun

Majority are KU alumni and/or from Kansas. There's a big Lawrence crowd in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.

  • i was at the game

  • lucky!!!!

  • rock chalk suck cock go ku

  • Home of Russell Robinson! Rock Chalk!

  • good to see soo many KU fans far and wide =)

  • its our 5th title, not 3rd title. 1922, 1923, 1954, 1988, and now 2008

    MUCK FIZZOU, GO HAWKS

  • '52, not '54.

  • didn't they still use peach baskets in the 20's ?

  • @nmorello11

    1952 not 54

  • @nmorello11 1922 and 1923 weren't NCAA titles. So technically it's our 5th national title but it's only our 3rd NCAA title

  • Ah man, it was so worth the money for the tickets. Can't beleive they won it/

  • village pourhouse... the KU bar in NYC... Jayhawk fans travel far and wide

  • Why were there that many KU fans in New York City?

  • russel robinson dats da reason

  • because there are KU fans all over the country.

  • know this is like a year late, but to answer your question.

There is a large contingent of Lawrence kids (a lot of artists/designers/hipsters) that live in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.

  • @vaibanez17 because lots of people all over the US like whatever happens to be the "hot" sports team at the time... take a look at the influx of patriots fans in the early 2000s, and then again as of right now(still many fans, but the pats arent as big as they used to be).

  • @vaibanez17 the question is, why wouldn't there be?

  • Sweetest shot ever!!!

  • Wow! Great year to be a KU fan!!! Rock Chalk!!!

  • Pretty cool seeing the reactions from elsewhere around the country. I know what it was like where we were (Nowhere Ks.). Freakin' unbelievable! I can finally retire my 1988 Natl. Championship shirt. It's getting a little thin.

  • he said "elsewhere AROUND the country", not outside it.

    fuckin' moron.

  • You did re-read it, right?

  • Mario is the man!

  • w00t!! KU!!

  • wow even brooklyn hates memphis

  • russell robinson from brooklyn so

dey rootin fo dey hometown kid

  • man KU fans all round da nation!

  • Just think Mario could have won that if -I believe it's Derrick Rose- hadn't made those free-throws.. I would've crapped my pants cheering if he made the shot for 3 when all they needed was 2..

(The above is just what I wuld have done if Derrick hadn't made those FT's)

  • or....D. Rose's crazy-ass turnaround to beat the shot clock...the way I see it...MEMPHIS was lucky to even get to overtime because of THAT miracle

  • you think that was crazy tryin being in lawrence that night!!!!

  • Dude Lawrence was a riot that night..best time that town's ever had since their last championship...

  • I was there...all I have to say was HOLY SHIT!

  • everybody loves ku

  • Nebraska...0 sport school

  • I concur!

  • FUCK MEMPHIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • No one likes Memphis!!

    Rock Chalk Jayhawk...KU! :)

  • Still getting goosebumps. But your description is a little off. KU has 5 national titles, not three. They only have three NCAA titles, but we won two championships before the NCAA existed. Talk about tradition!!

  • Awesome video. :)

I was in Allen Fieldhouse, and I STILL get chills and tears in my eyes when I see these videos. haha

    ROCK CHALK, BABY!!!

  • SOCCERGUY45 YOUR RIGHT.ROCK CHALK JAYHAWK!

    bABY! NATIONAL CHAMS

  • all day

  • they love us in brooklyn. thank you ny.

  • i was in kansas. haha. that was an amazing shot. he wasn't even open.

  • I hate new yorkers....

I live in Florida and all i ever hear is crap about the yankees, mets, giants, you name it...

In fact i dated a brooklyn girl who i just did not get along with.

But after this video, i have an entire new respect for new yorkers.

  • I went to Grad school in 1999-2001. Great memories. Love Lawrence, kansas and of course my Jayhawks. Once a Jayhawk always one. I was probably the only Salvadoran watching the game that night in my country. My 4 year old daughter cheered with me at the beginning. I was left alone but God I did enjoy this tryumph! We needed it. Gracias Jayhawks!!!!!!!!

  • GO KU!!!! i have the seniors authograph!!!

  • damn its nice to see the jayhawkers over there also. i feel like im the only person in the state of indiana that likes them. just a breath of fresh air to see that. i read the other comments about the other KU fans and its nice to see this all over america and the globe as mcgyver2121 said. ROCK CHALK CHAMPIONS

  • brooklyn in da house!!!!!

  • HELL FUCKING YEAH BROOKLYN! its great to see all the jayhawk love and fan support all over the nation! ROCK CHALK JAYHAWK BABY! GREAT CATCH!

  • Thank you Brooklyn!

I was in Japan at work getting the score updates on the Yahoo NCAAB page. Just sitting there watching the numbers change every minute, but still a lot of internal celebration! Good to see what it would have been like if I had been in a decent situation!

  • I was at a hostel in Barcelona, streaming the game by myself in the bar, while the nightwatchman argued with his sloppy drunk girlfriend. Now they both think I'm mad after all the screaming, but I don't care. I would have enjoyed that game from the depths of hell!

  • its like this filmer knew the shot was going to go in.......ROCK CHALK JAYHAWK

  • That was good to see in NY...I was in San Diego and my place had the same reaction...Coast to Coast..Rock Chalk Jayhawk.

  • I got chills... AGAIN.

  • i was at allen field house at this moment....just multiply this by about 10,000 and thats what it was like lol

  • ROCK CHALK BROOKLYN! This was great to watch Jayhawk fans celebrating all over the globe. WOW! What a win!

  • yyyeeeaaaaa....thats right, Jayhawks all over the world baby

  • From across the nation in Portland, OR, I want to thank you for posting this! We had the exact same reaction out here, but it involved me in my living room running around the house and screaming with excitement. The greatest shot in KU history, indeed! And probably the greatest game I'll ever watch in my lifetime.

  • Thank you! It's so great to know that we jayhawkers are spread out all over the nation. I don't deny that there are many passionate college basketball fans out there, but none are more passionate about the game, its history and their team, than Kansas fans and alumni - it's truly something special! Rock Chalk!

  • Okay I have to add my comment to this as well. KU fans are not just across the nation, but across the globe. I am an international teacher teaching here in Khartoum, Sudan. I woke up extra early only to catch the updates online. At 3:00 in the morning there wasn't so much a party here, but ALL of my students know the history of the Phog and Naismith. They came to school having become newly dedicated Jayhawk fans. ROCK CHALK JAYHAWK

  • From Portland, Maine -- Rock Chalk to all of you Jayhawks in cities across the country!!! (And I am not just a bandwagon fan, I grew up in Lawrence, went to the same high school as Danny Manning, was at KU the same time as Paul Pierce, and even was married on the campus. All of my family is still there and we almost flew back to be in Kansas for the final four. But it was still amazing. This win was for my 10 year old son, the biggest Kansas bball fan in the world, and a great baller himself...

  • haha! that was a beautiful moment who could ever forget it?!!! so proud of our boys!
