A lot of people have problems with the new look, its not dark and creepy enough anymore the fightings too repetitive...

I just played number 2 I am so sick of the constant darkness it was so boring and combat.... left click, left click, left click.... riviting. This looks awesome and is a great improvment

i think alot of the "dark" look of the first and second was due to the graphics being frankly.. a bit shit.

if you look at most games from that period with similar top down view .. they all seemed darker.. cos the colour scheme was bland as hell.

i think D3 looks excellent.. and very much dark enough.. and the lighter parts make for nice variation.

Why do idiots say every RPG game they see is like WoW?

Ive never played a game outside the Warcraft universe that had art that was anything like Wow, and interface-wise, there have been a shit ton of games before Wow with the same interface!

um, not to burst your bubble but the art in both diablo and wow would be similar as both games were made by the same developer. That being said it's possible that the art in wow is more advanced and has had much more time to grow but none the less the art style and "feel" of the game would be similar. :)

Again obviously the lead art directors might be the same but that's because the head honchos at blizzard expect them to be able to adapt for each title to make it suit the game.

@colexian I dont know man, this definitely seems to me to have much less of the old diablo feel, maybe its the music playing during it but even the visuals seem cartoony (almost like wow, but even more cartoony in a wierd way). Also the action looks like if feels slightly different then the classic diablos. Just my opinion, it looks less dark than original diablos, and more like wow (maybe bc of the upgrade in graphics)

What were the areas of Diablo II? A lush plains and forest, a yellow sand desert, a jungle, and a snowcapped mountain! All very colorful places. The only exceptions to this are the Hell level in Diablo II, and all of Diablo, which takes place entirely indoors.

Justbecause there are demons everywhere utely does not mean absolutely everything has to be grey and brown. Have a look around, there are COLORS everywhere!

I can agree with it being similar to WoW. Mainly in the way of the interface, skills/spells and equipment. This is because WoW built onto trhese aspects of Diablo II. So if Diablo 3 is going to play like Diablo II, than, by proxy, its going to be like WoW.

If it was nothing like WoW, than it would be nothing like Diablo II, and that would get wayyyy more complaints.

With that said, I dont think its a bad thing, but thats mainly because I played WoW for nearly three years.

Blizzard has WoW exps, StarCraft 2, Diablo 3, and a 2nd MMO on their plates. They'd be losing players from one game going to another, not losing customers. In order to keep customers they need to keep things fresh and new, even if it means competing with your old products.

They'll release D3 when it's ready, WoW be damned
