the chap's faces sum it up very well-the ''uh-oh, er, let me trrrry to look happy-holding their nausea to them like a precious object, lest it should ...overbalance into actual chundering!
The bawling kids would have driven me mad.. what a hellish journey. I don't think it is fair to travel with young kids-they rarely enjoy it, and best to wait until they get older.
I think sometimes people get sick when they see others do. Prime example went on a school trip to Germany and we took the Hull-Zebrugge on the way out. Much smaller ships than they have now. I remember waking up with the ship going up and down and fell asleep again Got up for breakfast and there were a lot of our party looked very green. I tucked into breakfast and wondered what the fuss was about. It was only around a force 7 but the ship was not the best to handle it.
That was nothing and for your information the isle of inishmore insnt crap or the isle of inishfree you should of been there when me and my Da was on there what happend was
We were on the isle of inishmore and this sudden wave smashed into the front and the good old ferry went through it like it was a wall of paper and when we got of the ferry the captain said that the wave was 15 yes 15 METRES HIGH!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow look at those waves! Remember when this was the Irish Ferries Isle of Innisfree. Crap seakeeper! As is the Innishmore! The Ulysees is Awesome though! Has never missed 1 crossing in its whole life!!
I used to work on this ferry when it was Pride of Cherbourg with P&O Ferries and she never really coped very well with rough seas! One crossing left us with wall to wall puke and a seven hour delay!! I worked in the travel traders shop which I see is now a seating area. Happy days.......
Thats not rough. I work on here. 1. your still standing 2. everything is still sitting on the table nicely and 3. the waters not even hitting the windows lol. Maybe 3m swell as opposed to 8.25 which this ship still sails in.
Regardless of weather conditions, I always find that getting a spot outside with my face in the wind helps me ignore the seasickness... although I was once on a ferry that listed to 45 degrees, so I'm glad I was not outside that time.
cook strait are not always huge waves but its a long crossing so the up and down motion lasts for ages but if their isnt any roughness the 3 hour ride is dull
not the hugest of swells, but to the "landlubber" is probably "monster waves", obviously had an affect on the passengers, i personally love going across the cook strait when it is rough, being ex navy i am pretty used to huge seas, we would sail out of places even when merchant shipping had been canned let alone passenger ferries.always get asked how i can walk around when others can hardly move a muscle lol
I am a Captain on a passenger ferry off the coast of Maine. From the audio it sounds like the passengers were not having a very good time, which is what I thought your video showed very well.
Apparently "nzmc23" felt he had seen bigger waves, "watch my videos", he said. So I did, and what I saw from his videos wasn't too spectacular for large seas.
Large seas are relative, especially to a passenger, who may not be used to it. I found it interesting from a passengers perspective.
you know how you can stop yourself from geting sick? get some ginger nuts and eat them.or get some air-ways chewing gum and chew on that.i am in the wellington coast guard and that is what i use when we are out during a cal out in the strate to keep me good.
why has this video had so many views
