Well ok. First we were just Finnish people living here. Then came Sweden 1100 and took this under its command. Later in 1805 Russia won Sweden and got this land. 1917 we gained our indepence and then fought against Soviet Union 1939-1944 in the WW2 and kinda won. That's it.

Can´t say about the accent, fut finnish really sounds like japanese. Would be nice to know how apulanta sounds to a person not fluent in finnish. I listen to Rammstein and don´t understand a word... but freakin cool band anyway :D

Hey, I've noticed the same thing too. Finnish is surprisingly similar to Japanese, but spoken with a Swedish accent. Words like 'osata', 'takanasi', 'sakea', 'kirosit', and many others are almost straight from it.
