Thank you for the wonderful and honest review. I wrote the book the movie is based on and it gives me great pleasure and satisfaction to learn that somebody like you - who was never a hockey fan in the first place - enjoyed watching Goon. This movie was made the way it was (as a comedy) to try and appeal to a wider audience and it is apparently working.

I really want to see this film! It looks a lot like this film I love, Slap Shot (with Paul Newman) and I'm hoping that someone says they decided to do this than a remake of Slap Shot. It looked really funny with a good story! -ThatMovieNerd

I watched it today. Really enjoyed it and better than I expected it to be!! Seann William Scott plays his character really well!!
