i loved these cards are CHERRY picked .. but this card was out of stock so i bought a lightning GTX 580 instead,, and guess was.. only able to overclock to 930.. piece of shit msi

You call CSS and TF2... a stresstest? Try Crysis 2 maxed out at 2560 x 1600 with 8 x SGSSAA and there you have a stresstest. Well it would be faster and more fun to take some screenshots in TF2 or CSS and browse through them. Buying a GTX 580 just to play CSS and TF2 at maxed out in-game settings at the so called Full-HD resolution would be just FAIL. Do not insult this insane performance GPU which such crappy old looking games.

and the memory frequency on that card is barely a third of what it is on the single card.

if you want Nvidia's best your best bet is to get 2 gtx 580's and run them on SLI, if you also want overclock them.

otherwise if you want dual GPU cards get a 6990, specially with the newly released drivers by AMD they really have sharpened up, and beats the 590 on most benchmarks

@MrSuckmyballs32 I recall the review site I usually go to saying that the 590 was the performace solution for those who had a case that couldn't fit either an SLI or a 6990. So yeah, says it all.

@ivanlagrossemoule that does not make any sence. the 590 is nearly the same size as the 6990. and really if your case can't accomodate a 6990 or two GTX 580's in SLI then you probably should not be buying the 590 since that case probably does not have enough airflow to keep that GPU cool.

you got to remember here, the 590 might run a bit cooler compared to the 6990, but it still requires a propper case with plenty of air mooving, so that it doesnt fry itself.

@MrSuckmyballs32 2.5cm can make the difference depending on what case you have. My case would fit the 590 GTX but not the ATI 6990. But I'd still have the SLI or crossfire choice though.

@ivanlagrossemoule dont get me wrong I like the dual gpu card concept but the thing is, running two actual cards allows you not only to have the propper scaling but also keep the frequencys and speed values of the single card which are often much greater despite the fact that fisically they are the same gpu.

and if you overclock the cards you run on SLI or CrossfireX, you will not only have better performance, but actually have better temps than the dual gpu card

If Nvidia and other manufacturers are not exaggerating (&_&) the development rate of their tiny GPU/CPU/make-a-cup-of-tea-for-­U/Explain-the-meaning-of-Life-­to-U/chips; I expect to see a lot of graphics cards (more than usual) rolled out over the next 18 months.

Manufacturers will need to get rid of their old stuff before they start to casually disown their old products and make a concerted effort to make customer feel like cavemen if they are still making use of those old components.

@DexterAUT Ummmmm most people are running 1080p jack off XD. Also if you remember MSI's Lightning, they came out shortly with the Lightning Extreme which had 3GB so I am sure there will be a Matrix 3GB. Another note, disagreeing is not being a fanboy XD your argument is pretty much worthless, even at High Resolutions you only need more Mem when you start running 5670x1600 or Resolutions to that effect. The bottom line is, you only need more ram for Multi-Monitor Set ups on HD+

@DexterAUT You realize you don't need more RAM unless you run like a 3 display setup. This card was built for overclocking, more ram=more heat+less space on the PCB so why would ASUS bother putting more in? Do they market it as a multi-display optimized card? I'm pretty sure they don't. Maybe the card isn't optimized to your needs but it's certainly not a fail. If there was only one good card, everybody would be buying the same one but people have different needs you see?
