The Americans people are convinced when a americans horse win in U.S.A is the best horse in history. Ridiculous! In the real world, outside your "Truman Show", everyone knows the best horses ever are italian . VARENNE( trot). Galloping RIBOT. To be the best, you have to travel the world and win big races, beating the strongest horses in the world. Somebeachsomewhere, Seabiscuit , Secretariat ect ect champion about what? . They never seen Europe. Watch my video about VARENNE
@MangoRoX87 Varenne in 2001, won the Breadeers Crown in New York, setting a new world speed record . In fact, he was named horse of the year 2001 in U.S. A If this were not enough Varenne in 2010 was inducted into the Living Horse Hall of Fame in America, like the best trotter ever. Ribot instead beat the horses of the Queen of England at that time the fastest in the world. Your ignorance is typical American, your post says is false.shut up !
@WillBackbone HEY YOU JERK SHUT UPPPP! Let's see you run against all of those horses and win! Yeah, I bet they would trample you before they even started running! And plus, its not Mine That BIRD's fault that he had bad breeding, and maybe he doesn't like racing. He's not going to put his top effort into it if he isn't doing what he likes. Have you ever thought of that? Nope, you didn't because your a jerk and you don't think at all. So why don't you watch videos you know about JERK!! :(
@SarahsSeniorYear His owner's finally realized this and retired him. Poor guy hasn't been into racing since after the 2009 triple crown series. He's going back to Double Eagle ranch now.

Come on. the 3rd rater from England beat him senseless. Wait till the Rip arrives. Fallon proved he is so much better than those American jocks in driving a horse to the wire
I can't wait to see those euro's get beat up. golikova is the only euro who has a chance in there. Rip Van Winkle will probably finish back in fourth. And Every euro seems to say that they have the best horses with disrespect. But i understand, you guys get upset from the best horses in the world being in America. And Fallon is good, but those euro jocks really beat there horses to the wire it seems a lot of times.
I think he needed more time on the track to run better in the goodwood, he was there for two weeks which is a good enough amount of time but he had could have had more time. If i was the trainer, i would have shipped 4 weeks ahead of time. May or may not have been the problem, but maybe he grew accustom to Dirt.
I believe the best way for MTB to run is like he did in the Derby and Preakness. Thats what his trainer believes, and his last two 3rd place finishes indicate it also. MTB has a killer 3/8 of a mile punch,if he gets himself in the race too soon he has a tendency to hang. But the synthetic surface is a factor also,on it he may be able to carry his speed further. But nonetheless I would still try to keep him covered up and back off the pace, and set him down 3 1/2F or 3/8 out.
MTB's next start is the Goodwood Stakes at Santa Anita racetrack this upcoming Saturday October 10th. And wow.....14 other horses entered to race against him. A very big field. I think MTB should try a new strategy and run near the front early to avoid traffic later in the race. It is something he should get used to if he wants to win the Breeders Cup Classic on November 7th against some speedy front-running horses who can maintain the pace throughout (like Summer Bird).
could be that the camera was choppy but this looks like a different horse than kentucky derby winner. I mean I know its the same horse but hes is not moving like used too. Seems more bumby and maybe a bit slow.
Flagdue and Paul...your are not observing properly. Look how level the back of the jockey is during the ride, which shows that the horse is gliding over the surface of the track smoothly (feet not sinking into the track and no bumpy ride). Also notice how little dirt is flying from the horse's hoofs, which is another sign that the horse is gliding smoothly over the track.
Yeah your probably right but take a look how ultra smooth MTB's derby and preakness were. Its looks like just his legs are moving. i think your right tough this run is a little smoother than I first thought and I do want him to run well win and get into the BC and win that too.
I agree, the horse has great form and composure. Also, it looks like MTB has grown a little and has put on some extra muscle....which means more power and acceleration in the final stretch.
I like his stride and overall action. He has a superior carriage and demeanor. However, he is not gliding over the surface which raises questions as to whether he will win the BCC if he enters.
I really like this work, his first breeze on the track, and Talamo let the reins shake so he could get a feel for the track, and I really think that if he gallops a bit this week and if hes feeling good he'll have a nice breeze on Monday or Tuesday.
