I own a 2011 Can Am XMR and so far no matter how deep the mud is, I've NEVER gotten that thing stuck. Despite trying my best to get it stuck in the mud, my machine has amazed me. It was well worth the $14500 I spent on it.

@AtvProductions99 Canam use an auto locker called a visco lock, the front tires have to spin to build up pressure to lock the other front tire, this is the older version, the 2010 and newer machines have the qe(quick engagement) visco it only takes a partial rotation of the front wheel to lock the front end so that both tires are pulling all the time, the system works great and is always locked when you need it, no need to stop and push buttons or hold levers

@RicheyDouglas That's the thing it's alla bout how you ride, some perfer the Outty and some the Rene. If you have buddies that can haul some gear for you and you don't care about being muddy(I mean really muddy) Gades don't have much for fenders when you slap on a set of 29.5's even with the fender flair kits you will be black the first hole you hit. I would say the edge goes to the Rene(especially the X model) in fast trail riding but I would say it's a tie in the mud. Ride both and decide

@xXRaJuNxCaJuNXx lol this is good ol' western Canada MUSKEG! it stinks like shit... literally and can be sometimes 35' deep without hitting solid earth, its basically whats left of a really old patch of trees, its just rotting plant and animal material mixed with water and is a pain in the ass to get off..... its also fun as hell to hit WOT!!!!

looks like something i'd pull! my 04 bombardier outlander locked up the front end instantly, but i've noticed some of the later can-am outlanders didn't, my 2010 xt-p outlander 800 has the visco qe and locks very quickly. only thing i'd change is my 04 had the plastic racks and i wish my new one did too. they were incredibly strong and light weight. cool vid. cool machine!

@TheTazzyT i really don't think so. my 04 would turn like 1/2 of a rotation or less and it locked. my 800 turns a little more than that. (i think) next time i'm out ridin i will try to make it a point to find out what it takes to go full lock. seems pretty quick but maybe my numbers are off a little. have you checked out my vids?

@04outlander400 nah i havent man, did you find out which locked up quicker? the 2008 visco's were updated, so the 04 visco should engage after like 12 wheelspins lol cuz my 08 max 500 engages after like 6 or 7 and the 2010 qe engages after half o.o

can-am only lock up the front when your given it its like a clutch that lockes up when the other front tire spins to much
