  • I am a non Chinese & love diverse food & this is one of my fave food in Malacca. The best in Malaysia. Have tasted many including others in Mcca & Muar but this guy does not stinge on his ingredients. Always crowded but makes the wait worthwhile!! Remember, to eat gradually & not in a rush. It is listed in the many int'l French, Chinese, German guide books recommendation too. Wow!! Harban

  • Satay chelop originated from Singapore , the first shop selling was the Boon Kong Family located at Quayside back in 1880s , they used to operate in a wooden shack , later the younger sister marries a Hainanese from Malacca and followed her husband to Malacca and opened a satay celop stall at Bunga Raya

  • there are about 4 to 5 satay celup restaurants in malacca...ban lee siang and capitol are the only satay celup restaurants crowded.... i wonder why... from what i heard from my friends, all satay celup restaurant in malacca taste the same...

  • capitol is one of the very early pioneers in malacca n it serves with many varieties, eg. big prawns!

  • sauce or gravy is always hot n boiled and clean too though reused. a customer usually should not dip again the satay stick once taken out to eat from the boiling container.
