The game versus Finland was for the Gold. People always think that the game versus the USSR was the final game. If the Americans didnt win both they wouldnt have won the gold.

I was fortunate enough to meet him at a high school hockey game in Minneapolis a couple of months before the 2002 Olympics. He was in the stands sitting by himself just enjoying two city rivals play and I went over and talked to him when I was about 12 and he was the nicest man anyone could talk too. Just my Herbie story.

Herb Brooks was the greatest coach to ever live period. He knew the game of hockey better than anyone prolly better than gretzky which says a lot. Herb Brooks proved why the yankees haven't been that good lately because you can't win with a team of all all-stars. You need the right players.
