He has played with MANY famous people in blues and soul music, if you don't like that music you probably haven't heard of him! He's been playing for over 15 years!!
i had a Live music club in Berlin Germany,"Unplugged" and people this is what it is about this thing that makes us cry, smile, love and remember what life has to offer in all its up's and down's.... "Hohnest Music" keep it up man....God blessed you and Us for giving us the time to see such a talent. like yourself
Love Jonny. This was such a great record. I think everyone just supposed Jon was going to supplant Clapton as a guitar megastar, but Jonny wanted to be knows more for his songwriting than his guitar vitruosity. He just hasn't caught the hit express like Mayer or some of the other great blues players.
A big part of it is the five year break he took right at his peak to get hisself cleaned up and give himself to God. He was double platinum at that time. You should look into his transformation. It is amazing.
Been listening to Jonny since '98, some of my friend's from MN turn me on to his music, and then I went & caught his performance @The House Of Blues @ Mandalay Bay in Vegas in 2000! What passion this young man truly has, it's inspirational to say the least, especially in this day & age. He was on Regis today, good to see he's still out there too!!
The thing I love about this performance is that he's changed the lyrics since he's become religious (and I say this even though I am not at all religious). "I thought maybe God had lost track of my soul. But I know he wouldn't leave me out here like this" is a subtle change of lyrics, but the meaning is drastically different from the original (this & "Leaving to Stay" or 2 of my faves).
@brnmbrns Bruce McCabe, Jonny's long time piano player wrote it. He also wrote Lie To Me the title track of Jonny's first album. Jonny didn't really write until Long Time Coming. Just a couple of tracks on LTM and WTW are originals
@Kluender07 saw him in Linz/AUSTRIA when he was very young and his carreer was still at the very beginning. Besides his mature voice he also had incredible stage presence. Unforgettable excellence!!!
Way too white to have that much soul. Saw him a couple years ago, and the soul permeated everyone to the bone. Truly one of the best rock-n blues artists
How does this McCauley Culkin lookin' like dude have such an amazing earthy soulful voice. I couldn't believe the first time I heard this guy sing years ago.
I've been listening to Jonny Lang since I was about 9...I'm 17 now. I still can't believe how he's not more popular, his music is like sex for the ears.
totally agreed! His concert was the first concert I have ever been too and i fell in love with jonny . He should be more popular. He is so talented and his music is awesome.
Being "top 40 popular" is not necessarily a good thing. There's a whole lotta crap in the top 40. Remember Sisqo? Pussycat Dolls? Hammertime? Usher? Kid Rock? Limp Bizkit? Top 40 is a joke. Do you ever hear any great artists on Top 40 anymore? If so, name them.
SWEET JESUS!, I fell in Love with this song many years ago when he sang on a late night talk show, I wondered what ever became of him. This song was torn from My Diary. I cry very hard every time I hear this song! God Bless Jonny Lang!
Where is the button "I love it"?

Many musicians have talent, but few have inspiration. Lang is one of those few.
