  • how many layers of paper did you use for each square page when u stuck them together?

  • when I was younger, and one wanted to make a scrapbook, you really started from scratch, and had to search for and put all your own materials together - there was alot of creativity involved, and what was cool is that you used up bits of this and that, and the actual materials had some meaning.... Today it seems to only require money to buy all these color coordinated kits. Doesn't look like as much fun as it used to be.

  • Dix994,

My mother created quilts from old leftover clothes, not new fabrics. Does that make her quilts better than others? Not at all. Modern materials in scrapbooking are archival safe, so they will preserve your precious photos a lot longer than "bits of this and that". Scrapbooking is just as much fun as it used to be, and much more popular than ever.

  • you missed my point. I wasn't talking about the end product as much as I was talking about the process. It has become totally commercial. Half the videos on here are advertisements for all the gadgets you can buy - the reason it is more popular now is that anyone can do it, you don't need to be creative, you just need to buy all the materials. I suppose in some ways that is good, but at the same time, I find the end result dull, repetitive, lacking in originality. They all look the same.
